    Matt & Sarah, We're going to have another dry one per my mom. I was warned regarding my garden , so plan safety with bees and gardening. Can't explain it but she is 89 and from the old tribe Ojibwe . Farmers almanac hinted also. But mom has always been spot on said this year could be worse than last growing wise ,water nights, shade when you can.

    Matt, good video. I enjoyed it. Tip: don't use Gorilla tape on your boxes. It will tear off all of your paint and even pull wood splinters off of the box. Ask me how I know this. LOL Blue painters tape works much better and it seems to stick well enough but not to good.
    The hive at the end that wasn't eating the fondant is probably to small of a cluster to get up to the top to eat. Hopefully if they can last to next week they have a good chance to make it with our warmer temps coming. Your first two hives look strong.

      Thanks. I was wondering about that. I even had the blue painters tape but thought that it wouldn’t stick because of the cold weather.

      Dito Russ. I saw the black tape and thought, oh poop. Those small clusters can just be off to the side or where ever. For newer folk it is kind of hard and nonsensical to imagine. As it, heh I put out the buffet, why aren't you all eating lol ? Sure can alarm folk.

    Matt, can you do a video of how you attach the tie down. What do you have in the ground that your strap is hooked to?

    • @mattsara2802
      @mattsara2802  Рік тому +1

      Yes I can. I strap them to a t post in the ground on some and the others are sitting on a 4x4 and I strap it to them

    It is interesting to see how the fondant is eaten at different rates. We had a single coyote track around the barn the other night. Cheers!

    That fondant really serves me well!! I believe it is going to help you wrap up winter strong.

    That is so strange how that hive did that. My first thought was duct tape or something also. Nice seeing them taking the fondant. I wonder how the Hive Alive will boost them you know. Super curious.

    Good to see the fondant working for you. We've got tons of pollen coming in, down in south Louisiana. They starting to build strong here

    Good Morning! I'd get out there to take care of the coyotes. Sometimes they can be vicious toward people. A family close to us had a pack of wild dogs (coyotes included) corner their child outside. Mom ran out with an aluminum scoop shovel. Banging it on the ground. She was able to get herself and her son on top of the car. Banging her shovel kept the pack back until help arrived. I'd be on the hunt with my children playing out there. Blessing friends! Have a wonderful day! 💚🌞

    From the video looks like you're strap might be putting pressure on three corners plus moisture making your box twist. Duct tape fixes everything 👍

      I think I am going to be wishing I used painters tape. 😆

      @@mattsara2802 you can always just slice between the boxes when you go back in there,and let it weather for a little while and that helps it come apart and off the box easier. Sunshine helps to wrinkle it, and let water get under it. Good luck with it 👍

    F-ing coyotes. They can sure eat up our animals.
    So you are going to take a shot at your own queens? Fantastic! Provided you have a good one to start off from but whatever you do, you will never, never look back.
    The next time I buy a queen that has been mailed, shipped, it had better be Sheba. Oh and out of all the queens we got from Mann lake and Lappe, only a third were good. Poorly maited, damage or to young.

    • @mattsara2802
      @mattsara2802  2 роки тому +2

      Yes they do. I am hoping to make my own queens. I had the same problem last spring. Hopefully it goes well making my own. 🤷‍♂️
