Written as an introduction to the Sakya school of Tibetan Buddhism, this text is intended to form a bridge to the major texts and practices of this lesser know tradition. The work references and is full of quotations from the classical texts of Sakya, for example the works of Sakya Pandita, Sonam Tsemo and Konchok Lhundrup. The text takes us on a graduated path from refuge to the bodhissatva vow, the middle way view, and finally to the vajrayana, all with a focus on the particular teachings and practices maintained in the 900 year old Sakya tradition.
