    I am a researcher of Buddhism in Bihar. All the places written about Padmasambhava's life in India, are found in Lakhisarai District of Bihar. You have Zahor (Sahur village with a dakini temple), lake Dhanakosha with an Island, and Urgain. Padmasambhavas eight manifestations are prayed to, and statues with his eight manifestations are easy to find.

    After meditation comes contemplation. Than one can be meditative or not. Yoga is important. Yeshe Tsigal, was and is really hard practitioner. Still remember her. Thank you, my memory was not good, and I did not like writing. And her samadhi was incredible.

    Thanks for the most down to earth gender realistic buddhist talk I have probably ever heard (and I worked for many himalayan masters..). One thing if people/vegetarians are being told by their doctors still that their 'anemia' is an iron problem, so they should then eat more meat or take iron tabs. I have studied iron 30 years since med school, when I found the iron research even then quite contradictory. Iron (filings) has been added to the food supply since ww2, and iron is now being linked to dementia, neurodegen, obesity, cholesterol, fibromyalgia etc. Hence drug companies are now urgently trying to develop iron chelation drugs atm. 1/8 people of viking and celtic ancestry also have at least partial hemochromatosis genetics which can now send you into iron overload (which doctors rarely test for or diagnose, or treat). A blood test for iron does NOT tell you how much is in the tissues (ie rust). What is more common is people having iron dysregulation, which might be caused by something like bioavailable copper deficiency (copper regulates iron, and Australian soils are now 80% copper depleted, thanks in part to Roundup). Sadly many doctors just see 'anemia; and pump people full of iron and tell them to eat meat, which can be the worst thing to do (although may give you a small temporary lift). Google 'iron and dementia', 'iron and parkinson's'. etc... it's shocking. Drink green tea or other natural iron chelators :) When I was in med school there was zero nutrition studies.

    Hello thank you for this video. When you shared Padmasambhava’s meditation instructions what is that meditation technique or non technique of resting called? Shinay or calm abiding?

    • @pristine.awareness
      @pristine.awareness  3 роки тому +2

      Hi there, I'm glad you enjoyed the teaching. Shi-ne, Calm Abiding and Shamatha are all the same meditation practice. Calm Abiding is the English language word, Shi-ne is the Tibetan (meaning to abide in peace), and Shamatha is the Sanskrit. So, we just sit down and gently observe the breath, without expectations, allowing the mind to come to settle and rest in stillness in its own time. Once the mind comes to rest in stillness, there's nothing more to do. Best wishes to you.

      I would add that from ,, big picture,, perspective it is nice to know difference between Western and Eastern understanding of meditation.
      For Westerns meditation is for stress reduction, for Easterners meditation is for enlightenment.

      @@jerry-mind-skyWith all due respect, Meditation is for enlightenment no matter who you are. The mind has no identity. No nationality, or country of origin. The mind is fundamentally the same for all people, and likewise the fruit of meditation is the same for everyone, enlightenment.

      @@pristine.awareness Thank you for very kind and informative commentary. I did mean that in European ( West ) culture , never was present idea of inborn enlightenment which is /was possible to experience by mean
      of meditation.

    What if we got hurt by others/circumstances in a unreasonable way ? Does buddhicita still apply ?

    • @pristine.awareness
      @pristine.awareness  3 роки тому +3

      Bodhichitta is our true nature. To say that Bodhichitta doesn't apply in some situations is to say that our true nature is only relevant sometimes. Our true nature is always relevant. Of course, if people hurts us then we do not need to stay in contact with those people. This is common sense.

    • @nukustudio6882

      The idea is that with the practice with time, we come to realize, the observation of the pain and our emotions we experience, are empty, they are merely opinions we build up to justify our own existence. Once that is realized, then Yes Bodhicita, we see how we create suffering 🎈

    • @DansDiary123
      @DansDiary123 8 місяців тому +1

      Suffering is the mind unable to see itself. When the condition of the mind isn’t recognised, then consciousness manifests as the notion of an I (namshe). When the condition of the mind is seen - the view - then that consciousness is seen and experienced as emptiness-awareness (yeshe). This emptiness is awareness, the union of clarity and emptiness.
      So in a way, the question itself is ignorance. What is it that suffers? What is it that causes suffering? People like Jeshua demonstrated quite clearly that when the view is firm, even one’s body can be killed and you can remain loving. The Buddha too advised one to maintain the view even if being chopped limb from limb by a thief or murderer.
      See that which seems to be hurting you as Buddha nature, know your own awareness. Such things as people making you suffer will be meaningless if that is done with persistence and a will to gain enlightenment as to benefit all beings.

    1:04:00 please share references.
    Buddha was great. But we don't have to malign India of that time.
    I have read a lot about Buddha, but I never found such a reference.🙏

    • @pristine.awareness
      @pristine.awareness  2 роки тому +2

      We can find references to the lives of women at that time in the Therigatha, verses from the first Buddhist nuns who lived at the time of the Buddha. Sadly, most of the world was like this at that time. It was not unique to India by any means. We know through many historical documents that women were treated as objects to be used and abused, traded and sold. We should never close our eyes and hearts to the suffering of beings in the past, present or future. We must all learn to be better humans and work for the liberation of all beings from all forms of suffering. Much love.
