My favourite stretch is #8, which one did you feel the most? *Always speak to your health care provider to determine which stretches are best for you.*

Stretch #1 is controversial for me and causes some pain afterward. As you've said in a video "which stretches to avoid during low back pain", incline forward movement might be tricky.
#1 stretch is with one leg so its not that dangerous, but when i ve done this with 2 legs (before watching your video of not doing it in any case) i ve got more pain and could not pull a leg above my hip level, could not step in a bath.
Other stretches seems pretty safe for average person.
For me what worked (may be relieved about 50% of pain and discomfort) is exercises to strengthen lower body like plank exercise, and others.
Would definitely add your exercises of stretching to relief more, thanks for your time and ideas Doctor!

Okay this is just what I needed! At the end of the day, low back pain makes sitting on the couch impossible. I'm going to incorporate this stretch routine while watching TV instead of eating chips - win/win! Thanks Dr. Jon!!! Love your video's!

LOL at the chips comment! Yes, much better use of your time stretching! :) When sitting on your couch, make sure to place a pillow/rolled towel/lumbar support in the small of your low back...it won't make it perfect, but it will take some pressure off the area.

I had a herniated disc about three years ago with a horrific sciatica pain that went along with it, as a bonus parts of my legs went numb not a hundred percent but to the point of discomfort (Right leg was worse), it did become better with time but never really left.
Was wondering if there are any exercises that will help with this situation, (If it's realistic at all) kind of lost hope. Many thanks

I am a bit confused whether I should do the double knee to chest stretch and stretch #5 in this clip.
I encounter them quite often in my yoga class and also see your recommendation them in this clip.
However, I also watched your other clip called "NEVER do these stretches". And these 2 stretches are recommended not to do as it poses risk to lower back injury

If you know 100% that you have no disc issues, then it double knee to chest may be ok...if you aren't sure, then either avoid it, or do single leg only...I only prescribe it to patients when I know what their problem is...for general advice to help most people, there are safer stretches...hope this helps and thanks for watching!

Bro, great content. I did all these today. But quick tip, be mindful of saying "simple/simply" too much. For some people, these are anything but simple. Keep up the vids though!
