Love the little detail (unsure if intentional or not) of the gun Akechi puts in his hands resembling the P3 Evokers. Took me a bit to notice the similarities.
The real Joker got beaten, overdosed on "truth serum" (which btw is considered torture in accordance to the international treaties signed by Japan), and then forced into signing a confession (which would be deemed unusable in a court of law). Then he was interviewed by Sae. It wasn't until Sae met with Akechi that the Metaverse part of the plan came into play.
Don't think so, I think Futaba remotely activated the MetaNav once Sae showed the phone. I imagine that all she had to do was to fool the phone into thinking that the user tapped the app icon or something

When she asks to see Akechi's phone just before going into Sae's palace, she's not doing it for curiosity and "OMG, Futaba failing to interact with people yet again", she asked for his phone so she could wire tap it and activate GPS. And then she spent a full night awake hacking Joker's phone so she could activate the Meta Nav remotely, track it by GPS as well so she would know Akechi was seeing Joker's phone when they were right in front of each other in the GPS. The true gamble here was having Joker convince Sae in what they didn't know would be a drugged up state
