That is not a good way to clean a filter, you should always spray from inside out. you are just imbedding the filter with dirt. Those fine particle will get sucked into the engine. Besides if it that dirty , throw it away and get a new one.

Air filter oil. Yes, its very important.

i used petrol but better air filter cleaning fluid. Blue is air filter oil.
