    I've had some luck with the Cryptocoryne aura, I grow it on stratum, lava drainage layer, lava top dressing, sealed bin. I mist everyday, twice a week I mist with a dilute hydroponic foliar spray (taking care to mist again with distilled water before the lights go back on.
    I've had it a little over a year now, when I got it it was in pretty rough shape, maybe five leaves with more than half melting off. All my new growth has been small, although leaves are bigger now than when I started. I run the bin on a low/medium light setting, but this crypt has stayed relatively disadvantaged in the bin, I have some buces that kind of want to grow on top of it, some ferns that tend to block some light. Also, my bin tech is to mist all the time, then drain with a turkey baster once a week (large corner lava rock easily removed, functioning as a drain).
    This plant is such a pain, so finicky and difficult, thought I'd share what's sort of working for me. I haven't achieved full size growth, but I've managed to keep it going for awhile now.

    To be continued and looking forward already. Awesome video and loving the submerged bin idea. The delicate and large Asplenium fern from Equator is my favourite. Again amazed by the rare species you have 🤩📸

      Also I saw the amazon page earlier and noticed in this video you added more categories! Very helpful!

      That's awesome, those sound like some really nice ones, congrats. I have the lime condor, it's super pretty. If you keep it in extremely low light it turns purple and blue. Yeh, the amazon page is totally new, just set it up over the past week. Will continue to add more things and update it when I have time. Glad you found it helpful!

      Another World Terraria ooo yeah! I saw photos of it and knew I had to get it! Even without low light they’re stunning, but extra purple sounds really cool. Planning on setting up a grow bin just for these marcgravias since my other bins are full.

      assuming they are small cuttings you should be fine for a while with one bin for them. they are slow to acclimate. but once they get going you'll need a lot more space than one bin! good luck my friend

      Another World Terraria yeah thanks! I’ve seen photos of healthy Marcgravia dominating in bins! Luckily I can just trim them and such. I will definitely need to sell a few cutting later to pay off my plant debt. 😅

    You call errant plants 'volunteer', I call them 'contaminants'. 😁 Anyway, I tend towards using 'cfr.' ('confer', Latin for 'compare') for plants that are similar to known species, over 'sp. aff'.' but it has more to do with brevity than anything else, really. Another engaging video, nonetheless!

    • @AnotherWorldTerraria
      @AnotherWorldTerraria  4 роки тому +1

      Haha, yeah, I love all of the "volunteer" plants, actually I usually call them "bonus plants." You are actually correct, "cfr" or "cf" is a more accurate / appropriate term to use for similar spp. I got in the habit of using 'aff' before I knew about 'cf' and now I have trouble breaking that habit. Thanks for watching and commenting!

    You have many fern and bins.
    My question, where you put a bins?
    In rack, all of them?
    Or in outdoor half?

      Hi, I use racks and bookshelves for my bins. You can watch this playlist for all the info about bins, lights, rack setup, etc. ua-cam.com/play/PLQNZbIPMHMsFtfOGTDJ05FaiDdNTNDwtI.html

    Great video. What substrate mix do you use for your marcgravia?

    • @AnotherWorldTerraria
      @AnotherWorldTerraria  3 роки тому

      Just Sphagnum. Or my standard mix of Sphag, bark, leaf litter. For more info check out my grow bin tutorial series. :)

      Definitely looks very similar! I will research it more, thanks! 😎

      Hmm I don't see its range going into Ecuador or anywhere near there. But it look so darn similar. It must be a closely related species
