The Biltmore Hotel Room Tour | Coral Gables, FL | May 2023

Spent an evening at The Biltmore Hotel in Coral Gables, Florida. The Biltmore Hotel opened in 1926 and was a favorite place to visit among celebrities and world leaders. Later, it would become a hospital during the 1940s-1960s. In 1987, it reopened again for guests and in 1996, was added to the National Historic Landmark list.
We ate at two of their restaurants, Fontana for dinner, and Cascade for breakfast by the pool. The food was delicious and further details will be mentioned below. I will note that currently, the breakfast menus are the same at all the restaurants.
The 23,000 square foot, 600,000 gallon pool was beautiful to swim in. It is definitely a boastful feature for the resort.
Fontana:
- POLPETTA DI MANZO: wagyu beef meatball braised in tomato sauce, parmesan fondue, stracciatella garlic bread
- RISOTTO AGLI SPINACI (added chicken for an additional charge):
carnaroli rice, baby spinach, crushed red pepper flakes, parmigiano reggiano
- FIOCCHETTI DI PERE CON SALSA DI GORGONZOLA DOLCE (added chicken for additional charge):
fiocchetti pasta stuffed with roasted pear, gorgonzola cream sauce, roasted walnuts
- TORTA DI LIMONE: key lime pie & raspberry coulis
Cascade:
- LEMON VERBENA RICOTTA PANCAKES:
maple syrup, berries, whipped cream, butter
- MIAMI EGGS BENEDICT:
cuban toast, poached organic eggs, ropa-vieja, chipotle hollandaise, chives, roasted potatoes with pepper & onion
