Hi guys, you really confused me! Your amazing video footage of Fort Zachary Taylor is in the Islamorada section of your video. It is actually in Key West, you mentioned it briefly in the Key West Section. Just incase anyone is hoping to see the Fort…you will have to go all the way to Key West for it. It is definitely worth it!
My father was in the NAVY FROM BEFORE WWII TO THE LATE 50S. He was on the Battleship Pennsylvania at PEARL HARBOR ON DECEMBER 7, 1941, He transferred to the Submarine Service soon after the start of the war. He was stationed at Key West from mid 1952 through mid 1957. I went to school from halfway through the second grade to halfway through the 7th grade. We lived in Perry Court, which was filled with hurricane proof 4 to 8 Plex 2-story cement apartments. We had a ball there. My older brother and I fished a lot, and probably added to our food quite a bit. His next duty station was nice too, except that we arrived at our rental in the middle of the worst snow storm that they had had in 50 years, AFTER living in Key West for 5 years! And the semi that had nearly all of our clothes was delayed due to bad roads for several days. BErrrrrr!!! But Key West was a great place to live for a while .
I was stationed at Homestead so when I Retired from the Military my Retirement Party was held on Marathon Key at Curry Hammock State Park with my unit and their families. It was a great way to celebrate the end of my 33 years in the military. I also love Key West and Key Largo. I plan on going back down again. There was also a great seafood restaurant before you got to the highway leading to the Keys, so I’m not sure if it’s still there because the last time I was down that way 2014 but the food was amazing. I was stationed in Homestead for the last 7 years of my military career and it was a great experience living down south with the different cultures and some amazing Mexican and Cuban cuisine. Thanks for sharing. You guys always do an amazing job with your videos.
I’m confused too. They said islamorada and were at ft Zach that’s in kw. Then marathon they said Truman Annex and all which is kw unless I missed something
We just got back from there. Spot on with your review. Our favorite is Marathon because, like you said, it's in the middle. Been going down there a few years now and it never gets old.
Thank you for SERVING, thank you for your hardwork editing; ALWAYS A THUMBS DOWN FOR CURSING... JUST NOT NEEDED AND MESSED UP A GREAT VIDEO AT THE END... GOD BLESS.
Glad you had a good time, but no one's gonna find anything on this video, all the jumping around, Key Largo-Bahia Honda-Islamorada-Fort Zachary-Marathon-Key West-Big Pine-Key West...lol, I'm dizzy and I lived there! :)
Back in the mid 70s my family did a rv trip to the keys in my parents Winnebago class A. This was when the old 7 mile bridge was still be used. Talk a about white knuckle trip with semis coming in the other direction! Lol!
First went to Islamorada driving and stayed in a hotel about 33 years ago with my late mother and our then young son. Also more recently we spent a day in Key West and have enjoyed both places tremendously and would go back again.
I always loved the camping at the coast guard station marathon. But unfortunately it was not avaliable this past winter. So we had to go to sigbee in key west . The great thing about sigbee is the fact that the fee is only 1/10 of the fee at Boyd's and the marina on base rents center console boats for 1/2 the price of other rentals firms in the keys.
Great video! Long time subscriber. We just moved to Marathon and live a 10 minute paddle from the mangroves you paddled. We love it. We actually RV’ed and spent a few weeks deciding where in the keys we wanted to settle. Marathon was the best of all worlds to us. We could still escape to Key West, but enjoy the peace and quiet in Marathon and the only minutes from Sombrero Beach and Bahia Honda.
I went to the Keys in 2020. I went to the end of Rt 1. I stopped, looked around and decided that there were too many yuppies there for me. 20 minutes later I was heading north. I went back to Marathon and got a hotel room for the night. Very beautiful but I'm not a crowd lover. Have a great trip.
I love people watching, and will go out of the way to do that, and be part of a crowd , but when it’s pre planned; not necessarily while on vaca! So you make a good comment, here, Agree 100%

My wife and I volunteered at Long Key State Park for a summer and it was amazing. We loved the keys and look forward to returning. The nice part about staying on Long Key is it's right in the middle of the keys.
Seems like you jumped from Bahia Honda to Islamorada and then Key West Fort Taylor and then back to Marathon? Then Key West again Truman Annex - hard to follow if you haven’t been there. Otherwise it’s good content.
We’ve been to most of the keys. We spent a week on Key Largo in John Pennekamp. It was wonderful! We’ve stayed on Marathon key where our grandkids swam with the dolphins. And, of course Key West. My husband (on two of our Keys trips) found an INCREDIBLE number of BEST Key lime pie places! By the time we left the keys our refrigerator was crammed with them! Our children, and then on another trip, our grandchildren got rather over key Lime pie! “ NO MORE KEY LIME PIE PLEASE DAD/GRANDPA! Such wonderful memories 🤗
We love the Keys, we will be down there in May. We always stay in Marathon so we can get all around the Keys to do the things we love to do. Have a great day!
We love the Keys and have stayed on several islands over the years! Our favorite experience was taking our bicycles and riding around Key West, so relaxing doing it that way :)
Y'all did a beautiful job at representing the diversity of each key. I don't think most people realize how different they can be! We've lived full-time in the Lower Keys for 13 yrs and continue to discover new nooks and crannies all the time. So happy you enjoyed and thank you for sharing some of our history! 🌞🌴🌞
My husband and I lived in the Keys on Cudjoe Key (MM 21) from 1995-1998. He was one of Key West’s police chiefs. I think you did a great job of showcasing and describing the Keys. BTW I make a delicious, no-bake Key lime pie that is one of my requested desserts. It is not dense like the traditional Key lime pie you were eating in Key West. We had a two story high Key lime tree in our yard that yielded hundreds of Key limes. Love to watch your channel! Also love the the new You Tube show RV Unplugged!
We look forward to spending time in the Keys, we spent an overnight in Key West & loved the creativity ambiance. The busy crowds downtown not so much. Unimpressed with the sunset too…maybe it’s better in the winter-we we’re there mid-July. Less people apparently! We stopped in Marathon the next morning for breakfast & I asked for the kid size breakfast but the cook said I had to order from the adult menu. I felt for the server, & I ordered the adult size & gosh, I could only eat the same amount that was the kid size! What a waste of food! I didn’t need (or could) to eat 4 eggs, 4 pancakes & 4 slices of bacon. Silly goose cook.
Thank you for your adventures. It looks beautiful. My wife isn't in the best of health so we usually stay within 1-2hrs from the house. I'm glad your able to share with us. As I say take us along.
Beautiful trip, guys. Thank you for taking us along with you on this part of your journey. That is a beautiful place to go, and people I know that have been there said the same thing ya'll did, don't be in a hurry anywhere down there. Really appreciate all that ya'll do to make these videos as nice as they are. God bless ya'll and stay safe on the road. Keep up the great work.
We have followed you for several years and started full-timing last year out west. On January 9, we began our eastern U.S. trek north from The Keys (10 days) to Nova Scotia and PEI by the end of August. We stayed at Bluewater Key and Fiesta Key RV resorts. It’s unlikely our paths will cross but if you attend a scheduled RV event we would love to meet you. We are currently near Flagler Beach and will be in St. Augustine next week before moving north to GA. Safe travels.
Did a kayak mangrove trip last July. I miss it so much. My fav keys r the middle def NOT key largo. Love the seven mile bridge just gorgeous, feels like you’re in another world! Just love that keys vibe never gets old
Good video summary of things to do. Not much has changed - we were stationed at NAS Key West 79-81' after our Yokosuka, Japan tour - lived on Sigsbee BEFORE there was an RV park there. Wondered if y'all scoped it out? We plan to revisit & stay a month or two next year. Loved the Keys and there's nothing better than Key Lime Pie and kicking back, just chillin'. Wife loves the 'Keno' sandals too. Safe travels!!!
Seriously doubt if we ever get that far south so it was fun to have the Keys explained and get to see parts of them. And I’m enjoying RV Unplugged too!
we live in fla and try to get to key west every year in our diesel pusher mh. we have reservations for pennekamp for the first 2 weeks of july. we will also stay at fiesta key and sunshine for $20 a night with our TT trails collection, roughly $150/night for others without TT
Watched the full video, Christopher and I on the television once again. Years of great content from you both and of course per our usual, we had to Binge watch some of your older videos from your first one and we always love doing this!! This was another great video. Thank You 😊❤
Fort built 200 years ago…. „I’m not a history guy“. Great video thanks. As a European something built 200 years ago is not old.. Thanks again for the information and insights here can’t wait to visit the Keys.
Last time I was in the Keys was in Apr 1982, the US Customs opened a checkpoint on US1 just before the hwy left the mainland going towards Key Largo. That action caused the entire length of the keys to be basically a foreign country. Key West succeeded from the US and declared war. I was stationed at Homestead AFB at the time and had just made it through the checkpoint before they closed it to all traffic. The reason Key West declared war was due to loss of tourists to the entire length of the keys as no one wanted US Customs to search their vehicles. The newly formed “country” was called “The Conch Republic” and issued “money” and passports. The new Prime Minister of the Conch Republic immediately surrendered and applied for 1 BILLION dollars in foreign aid! Several years ago you could be named as honorary Prime Minister for a day for a tidy donation($5000 or so).Don’t know if they still do that but…a lot of folks that visit the key wouldn’t blink an eye at such a minuscule sum!! So now it’s been 40 years since my last visit. Keys that were vacant now have homes and stores. Sloppy Joes looks a lot smaller…do they still have all the parachutes hanging from the ceiling I wonder??? Thanks for the video and safe travels. Retired MSgt(E7)
We spent two weeks at Jolly Roger RV park last July. It was awesome, but cost a small fortune! We took the same route you did and my husband ended up with a busted lip and I learned not to try to use a paddle in the mangroves! We have two weeks booked for the first weeks of October at JPSP. So excited! Hubby is a diver, I only snorkel. On a funny note, I am a Mallory by birth. 😀
Not many UA-cam channels or websites tell rvers that they keys have small camp sites. It's hard to find spots for 40'+ campers. 35' or smaller works best.
Hey Phil, 4 fingers of Whiskey before filming takes care of those jitters!! Lol Hope you guys enjoyed the Keys, my favorite place to relax and recharge! Safe journeys as you guys head North!
We had a Tiffin Bus which we sold in 2016. We just bought a Renegade Explorer to get back into the RV atmosphere. One of our favorite spots was the Blue Water Key RV resort on Big Pine Key. Very limited number of sites and is very expensive but we thought it was worth it. Keiger Key is a must to visit. Great spot to eat , and they have a few RV sites there too.
If you go near MCAS Cherry Point, add some videos to your show. I left there in 2009, after 9 years there. I would love to see how it’s changed. (Havelock, NC)
Your guys are great! Know the Keys like the back ✋, started watching the RV challenge , looks like a lot of fun. Looking forward seeing your great adventure to Canada. Be safe God Bless.
You two are FUNNNY. The Florida Keys = my happy place. Thank you for sharing. Headed there soon. My husband is a Maine Hunting and Fishing Guide. We take a moment to go down to the keys for family time before his busy fishing season here in Maine starts up. Really enjoyed your music choices. Also loved the first episode of RV Unplugged..watched it this morning. When will you be hitting Maine? Always love your videos. Happy travels to you. Thanks again for another great video.
We are on Cudjoe Key now. Have been coming here since 1980. The keys in between the areas that you talked about are the best places, more local restaurants and people. Keep up the great videos
Thanks for all the info! We hope to make the trek to the Keys next summer! I’m a new follower and if you’ve already answer this sorry for the repeat question but where did the picture behind you come from?
@@todayissomeday there’s so much history there! On 9/11 many, many commercial flights were rerouted there to that small town. I read the book, talked with the woman from the historical society about the kindness extended by the community to the passengers.
Great video! Can't believe you all had never tried Key lime pie!! I guess growing up in So. FL it was pretty much a staple. You should have tried the chocolate dipped key lime pie on a stick... so good!! Can't wait to see the rest of this years adventures.
We love key west we went 2022 we were going again Jan 2023 my husband his father past away and march 4th we put our 16 year old fur baby down. So Jan 2024 military campground is where we stay. We have changed many things sold our camper and getting a Travato Van very excited to go back we have friends that will meet us going back. Riding our electric bikes around the island is a must.
Great video? We love the Keys - camped at Bahia Honda many times, until the bots started grabbing all the spots 11 months out 8 years ago. Stayed at Sunshine Key last year 😊
Dang shipmate, I just returned this morning from a VA appt and they strongly suggested I get a wide-brim hat out in the sun. Saw your Ron Jon hat and thought "gotta get me one o' them!" I was stationed at Pearl Harbor for 3 years ('79-'82) and enjoyed the beaches a little too much. At some point we'll make it from Denver down to Florida and hit your favorite CG's. Thanks for all the great videos.
This is exactly what I needed to watch! We are staying in Sunshine Key RV Resort too! So excited! We don't tow a vehicle so hoping to get an Uber or someone said there are buses that pick you up. We do have e-bikes, but don't know if that's an option for any sightseeing!
What is the best is a matter of opinion and what a person is looking for. I have been going to the keys since 1975 and have more experience than most ❤🇺🇸🙏🏻
The keys are my yearly reset to endure the Midwest another year😢 I always support locals when there and respect their land! I one day to hope to retire their if welcomed!
Stacy …… can you tell me what suction cup cell phone holder you use in your window please.. we’re leaving on 31st this month and I need a good quality one please . Mine keeps falling off . I’ve washed it and done it all and it keeps falling off
Phil uses one off Amazon: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07DNVPTRB/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_image?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Unfortunately, it is unavailable. Keep an eye on it though.
The Keys are awesome. Been there many times. Phil and Stacey…did you get to experience/witness “the Keys disease” while there? 🙄 The bloopers are great keep them coming. While the diesel truck was going by, I kept seeing two Meerkats standing on their hind legs looking out the window. 😂😂😂

If you go near MCAS Cherry Point, add some videos to your show. I left there in 2009, after 9 years there. I would love to see how it’s changed. (Havelock, NC)
Y'all did an excellent job categorizing these keys.
Thank you!
Keytegorizing the keytegories?
Great video. Love the bloopers. Missed you at NASCAR in Las Vegas.
Hey Jim. Wee may get back there again. We had so much fun!!!
I was stationed at Truman Annex in 1975-1977. Great memories.
Enjoyed the content, excellent visuals and editing. Only those of us who've done the filming/editing understand how time consuming it is
Thanks. I love your videos. Keep adding the outtakes at the end. I had a great laugh and really enjoyed it.
Your guys are great! Know the Keys like the back ✋, started watching the RV challenge , looks like a lot of fun. Looking forward seeing your great adventure to Canada. Be safe God Bless.
Awesome! Thank you!
I love the Keys. I’ve stayed at Sunshine Key.
I drove to the keys from Chicago back in 1977 as a 16 year old teenager in a 1972 Pontiac Grand Prix
Love the Keys and planning to go back next year. Stayed at Leo's MM5 and rode our Ebikes in town every day. Had a blast!
I was married on Cudjoe 20 years ago and going back to celebrate next month!
I went to Highschool right up the road from Sombrero beach, the kids would play hoodie sometimes and go hang out there
Thanks for all the info! We hope to make the trek to the Keys next summer! I’m a new follower and if you’ve already answer this sorry for the repeat question but where did the picture behind you come from?
Stacy made them and ordered through a professional picture printing company she found online. Neither of uss can remember the name right off hand.
@@todayissomeday I love it! Looks great!
I subscribed after watching your video on the Florida Keys! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Awesome! Thank you!
Please, please, please tell me you’re going to stop in Gander when you hit Newfoundland!?!?
Not sure yet, still ironing out the trip.
@@todayissomeday there’s so much history there! On 9/11 many, many commercial flights were rerouted there to that small town. I read the book, talked with the woman from the historical society about the kindness extended by the community to the passengers.
I have read about this and saw a video. It was very interesting!
@@todayissomeday ♥️
Great video! Can't believe you all had never tried Key lime pie!! I guess growing up in So. FL it was pretty much a staple. You should have tried the chocolate dipped key lime pie on a stick... so good!! Can't wait to see the rest of this years adventures.
I love the fun and yhe excitement yall bring to ya'lls videos. Thanks for sharing the Keys. Be safe
Our pleasure!
The keys are an amazing part of Florida and the US in general. Loved the video!
Yes! Thank you!
Stayed at Sunshine Key last year 😊
That place is fantastic! I would love to get a reservation there. But it is near impossible!
I’m so excited for your Keys to Canada trip. We will be headed on a similar trip. Looking forward to watching your adventures. Enjoy 😀
Went down and operated with the hydrofoils a couple of times in the early 80s I was stationed in mayport
I LOVED THE OUTTAKES!!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Priceless!
Bahia Honda meaning deep bay, in Spanish. The letter H is always silent in Spanish, and most other Romance languages as well.
Yep. I was in the same boat. The hat really does help.
Team Stacy. First episode was great!!!! Best of luck to all the contestants.
Great blooper reel, hilarious! How'd you get the buoy picture without anyone else in it? That's hard to do I hear. Jayman...
Glad you enjoyed it
I love her laugh , it’s infectious. Makes me laugh. 😊
This is exactly what I needed to watch! We are staying in Sunshine Key RV Resort too! So excited! We don't tow a vehicle so hoping to get an Uber or someone said there are buses that pick you up. We do have e-bikes, but don't know if that's an option for any sightseeing!
Thank you for everything you do for us rv folks. Love all your videos. You have been very helpful as we are planning our key west trip!❤️🇺🇸
Our pleasure!
Love following you two after a year of full RVing we move to Manasota Key Florida as a home base
Fiesta is my favorite.
Love the bloopers 😅
Keep the rubber on the road and safe travels.
💖Thanks for sharing this experience 👍LIKE
❤ LOVE this video!!! Thank you for sharing your insights on the Keys!!!! AND….. I ❤LOVE❤ the outtakes at the end!!! 😂😂😂😂😂
You are so welcome! Thanks for dropping by!
What is the best is a matter of opinion and what a person is looking for. I have been going to the keys since 1975 and have more experience than most ❤🇺🇸🙏🏻
Sad you won't come to Ottawa this trip... - Cheers!
We may. I (Phil) was born there. Still trying to iron out the trip.
@@todayissomeday No way! - That's too cool! - I'll stay tuned for sure - that would be awesome. - Cheers!
I’ve washed it and done it all and it keeps falling off
Phil uses one off Amazon: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07DNVPTRB/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_image?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Unfortunately, it is unavailable. Keep an eye on it though.
Love your videos. Great adventures.
Thanks so much!
We love the Keys! Great video.
Thank you! 😀
Where can we get the new shirts you’ve been wearing?
We will be in Newfoundland this August maybe our paths will cross. Hi from Canada!
so good guys - thank you!
Our pleasure!
The Keys are awesome. Been there many times. Phil and Stacey…did you get to experience/witness “the Keys disease” while there? 🙄
The bloopers are great keep them coming. While the diesel truck was going by, I kept seeing two Meerkats standing on their hind legs looking out the window. 😂😂😂
