Honda Civic X 2016-2021 (10th gen) CVT Oil Change

I try to change the CVT oil every other oil change, I used HCF-2 spec oil, not the genuine Honda product because it's impossible to find here in Italy.
The original oil was amber color, the one I used is blue, Motul CVTF which states on its spec sheet is compatible with HONDA HMMF (Honda Multi Matic Fluid), Honda CVT-F, HCF-2.

Thanks! I was in Colorado and a rock hit my trans oil pan! And we had to change the oil pan and the Tran oil. By opening that too bolt I’ll be sure if it’s in the correct level?

Yes exactly, the higher one is the oil level check, any excess oil will drain out. Once it’s done draining you are sure you have the correct amount.

@@DavidsiervodeDios777 nope, just fill it up, close the plug once it's full, then turn the car on and cycle the gears. Check CVT oil level after that to see if it went down.

I was nervous as only 3 quarts came out vs 3.9.
Used your idea and shifted thru gears then on level ground removed check level plug and topped off
Dripped for about 20 min

I use eneos cvt fluid in my 2019 coupe ex-t. I would use amsoil if it wasn't so bloody expensive. I too change my cvt fluid every other oil change, and since eneos is compatible with the Honda stuff why not? It's also blue 🔵

what size is the drain check bolt?? Nice video DIY...

If I remember correctly it's a 17mm bolt, should be M14 x 1.5 thread like the oil pan bolt.

Honestly I didn’t measure it, i just filled it untill it started dripping from the side oil level port.

I did my cvt oil change yesterday and only 2.5liters of oil drained out im like getting frustrated thinking I was driving a car under filled with trans oil for a year.
