Myself and my mate Mac always used to go see Paul when he was doing the pub gigs in Blyth and the North East of England back in the 90's, always supporting him by buying his early cd's, in fact Mac bought a Stratocaster from him. We used to tell him then that he was a phenomenal talent, his Hendrix numbers- 3rd stone, purple haze etc. were fantastic. Happy days, Happy days !! But on a sad note, I was so sorry to hear of the passing of the Big Fella, Ted McKenna two days ago. I was a big follower of SAHB back in the 70's, they were a great band live and terrific musicians and Ted had a CV and status that his family can be proud of. Another of the greats gone, sad, sad, sad.
Hi Mr. Rose, Amazing jam!!!! Thanks for posting this. Congratulations to Mr. Hutchison and Mr. McKenna too. Great musicians. Thank you... From Brazil...
Ted McKenna (10 March 1950 - 19 January 2019), was a Scottish drummer, who played with bands The Sensational Alex Harvey Band, Rory Gallagher, The Michael Schenker Group. He toured with Ian Gillan for a short period in 1990, alongside fellow former SAHB member, bassist Chris Glen. He lectured in Applied Arts at North Glasgow College from 1996-2011. (aged 68)
If I didnt own a strat, this video would make me want to have one. But still, I spend almost all of my time with the tele or the les pauls. I will be getting rid of the 2013 american standard sienna burst strat for another tele.
Paul, hey my friend its Randolph we met years back on a flight from Detroit. Ever heard of a Lashbrook Guitar and do you want to play one next time your here in So Florida? Randolph
