    Great work with this. Clear and concise with helpful comments. For example, placing a rag over the tool when releasing the air pressure, using a flat-face 26 mm socket, loosening the damper BEFORE removing the lowers, removing oil from dampener rod, soaking foam seals in a bag, guiding dampener rod back in lowers, reinstallation and adjustment of compression knob. I'm very thankful for this video.

    Thanks, mate! I couldn’t figure out how much oil I need to put in a damper in my float 32. I have a Rocky Mountain ETSX30 from 2008.

    @Mark... I have not done any maintenance on the dampener rod...as soon as I do the dampener I will post a video...as for the air spring side I just put float fluid..

    Nicely done! Thanks for the detailed info. Would you happen to know if there's a way to make the talas travel longer than my current set up of 90-130mm? I was hoping of getting up to 150mm travel on my 32. Thanks.

    Do you do any maintenance on the damper rod? Also, do you do any maintenance for the air spring?

  • @ryanvillanueva

    Hey @jrsandiego, thanks for the vid. On the air side, have you messed with the IFP chamber air pressure? The service manual says you need a specific tool (Fox P/N: 803-00-127), but I’m wondering if you can do it without.

    Hi, can u do a video on full rebuild? My fork is faulty, rebound is not solid n travel is no longer adjustable... sigh.

    I know this is a few years late to comment but I have a 2007 fox talas RLC. I moved the travel adjust knob and now it only gets 100mm travel no matter which location I put it in. Do you know if there is a simple fix for this by any chance?

    I won't get some information about seal's, they have flanges or without?

    Hi there is this damper a
    open bath damper R or RL.
    I have jt got a set in very good condition owner says they are 2009 fox talas 150mm and the decals was removed by owner so I can't tell for tht I did ask but they says they took forks to shop for servicing and don't know. I can see by the fox oil guide online tht the fox talas open bath R or RL tool fox red but 2010fox talas RL or RLC took the green fox.
    I have took the air out the chamber screwd damper side off at top compressed it to see inside but it was to dark to see dwn but when I pushed the damper slowly dwn to screw back on I saw tht the oil was come out the inside top part underneath o ring at the damper rod does this mean its a open bath damper. Or is it jt the FIT cartridge tht are sealed on fox fork.
    I don't know alot about fox fork yet but am reading on this matter for a week now and no luck yet thanks for any help kind regards Richard

    Hi there. I service my fork yesterday as it was bottoming out just by sitting on it. But after servicing it, the still bottoming out. Not as easy as before, but is not rigid enough to go ride. Have you ever service the air shaft or damper shaft? Also after filling g the 160ml of oil from the top, you don't add any from the bottom? Thanks for you video, it helped me service my fork with confidence.

      Did you ever figure it out? I just bought a bike with these forks and they bottom out when I sit on it. Ordered the seals but nothing for the talas side of it.

    • @cristian1780
      @cristian1780 11 місяців тому +2

      @zachfetter5710 Yes I did, it is a small oring that is inside the wet side of fork. Seal is transparent, so it break in pcs or crack easily. You need to get it out and replaced it. That will take care of it. It cause the oil to bypass, so the fork bottoms out. McMaster-carr p/n: 1295N223. 5mm ID X 2.0mm wide o-ring. Since you are there, but a set of new wiper seals from fox or Jensen, and swap them. There is no seal kit available for this fork, not even from FOX. Hope this solve your issue.

      @@cristian1780 Thank you very much, same issue. I wish i have pictures. So right side of the fork and I need to change oil and disasamble the fork tube to do it right ? Thank

    • @cristian1780
      @cristian1780 5 місяців тому

      @pliopov yes, disassemble the fork completely and remove the wet side piston, the tiny seal is in there (most likely cracked in pieces), get some pick tool to get it out, clean the groove, and slide in the new oring. Clean your fork tubes while you are there and replace the wipers. Fresh oil in, and you should be good to go. Pump air to it and set your sag.

    Can you explain where Do I have to put the little ball (rebound) cause in the video it's not clear ... in a hidden spot ... Thank you

    • @jrsandiego
      @jrsandiego  4 роки тому +1

      The detent balls sit in the underside of the rebound knob... directly under the 3 set screws... just be cognizant of them when you remove the knob so you don’t lose them... I used a dab of grease on them when I replaced the knob so that they would stay in place

    Sir, what's your suggested interval for fork seals replacement? Thanks

    • @jrsandiego
      @jrsandiego  4 роки тому +2

      Honestly, I don't replace the seals until I have a leak... what I do is I clean the foam and resoak with float fluid and pack the seal with a lot of Slick Honey when I feel the fork isn't smooth..
