The great thing about TOP is that their discography is so diverse that your favorites can change daily. Or rather with the time changes cz your mind changes on what u think is good.... I love the livestream version of this one, too. Fave part of this video is the mic flip and how fame and success bow to Tyler at the end as he dances *on their graves* so to speak. Love these boys!! |-/ 💛
You notice that the temptations of fame of success are telling him to stay low. Then, by the end of the song, hes standing tall while they fall back down to their knees. I swear, this guy always has so much symbolism in his work.
Lane boy is on the same album as ride. He literally says "lets backtrack, back to this, who would you live and die for on that list?" Literally saying lets go back a few tracks to ride when he was talking about how we all have a list of people we think we would take a bullet for. In this song he says theres another list that exists that no one really wants to think about. I think that second list is the people you wouldnt take a bullet for in that scenario, the people you would let die to save yourself.
My fave. Except yeah...every Blurryface song is great, and it's my second favorite whole album next to Trench. Lane Boy is one of the sickest videos to watch Josh play.
i find it weird to hear this song now without the redecorate rap from the livestream. its not one of my favourite songs but it goes hard live! When asked about this song Tyler said as they got more involved in the music industry he was discouraged to find out how many songs weren't written by the artists who sang them and how little some artists were involved in the creative process or don't even like the genre of music they release, they just do it to find commercial succes, whereas he and Josh have always tried to do as much themselves as possible and only release music they actually enjoy.
I think for a lot of fans their favorite album changes by the day - I do tend to find myself gravitating most towards Blurryface though - i think for a new fan who isn't familiar with all the music, Blurryface would be an album to gain the interest to dive deeper
Go back to the OG stuff!! Self titled album! Its all fire. Isle of flightless birds...march to the sea....IMPLICIT DEMAND FOR PROOF. Implicit is hard you look at it from Christian perspective. He talks shit to God!

I love this song, and the version they did for the livestream with the Redecorate rap verse thrown in is my absolute fave version
Gotta hear that!

Great reaction and some good laughs too! 😁 I'm 39 and only discovered TØP in 2020. I'm SO glad I did! Enjoying your journey!
