Great tutorial. I’ve shot at the Cotton Mill several times when it was first being renovated. What a great space. Also really chilly in winter and stifling in summer. Thanks.
Thank you John! Yep, the Cotton Mill is a staple for DFW photogs for sure! But it’s always worth freezing or sweating to get a great shot! However, it’s a plus when the temp is just right!
Great lighting video! Very interested to learn more about the composition remarks at about minute 17 in the video: "Angle of Grace" & "Angle of Tension". If anyone has additional info on these topics please let me know.....Thanks
You might check our the 1837 "The Sketchers Manual or, the whole art of picture making reduced to the simplest principles. By which amateurs may instruct themselves without the aid of a master." Otherwise known as one of the longest book titles ever? =) You can find a PDF on archive.org or google books etc. archive.org/details/sketchersmanual00howagoog/mode/2up Basically, sketching/composition books like that are great for photographers today because they share so many important principles that were taught to the 1st generation of photographers but aren't as popular today (in terms of teaching.)
