Great video. Thanks mate. I’ve struggled with BS5050 consistency too. Skated tonight and realised I’ve been letting the front wheels hit the coping on the way up without realising! Never would have noticed had I not seen your video. So thanks 🙏
Nice mate, these are next on my list for trying out! Think we may have crossed paths at Mount Hawke on Sunday morning when I popped down with the kids, I didn't get time to say hi before you left unfortunately, maybe next time!
@@JonBishopSkate it's all in the hips.. it's all in the hips. Jon, how are you liking the shorter wheelbase? I expected you to settle on something between the 15WB Andy and that Slidewinder.
Thank you Jon Bishop!! These fun virtual skate sessions with you are a blessing. Your takes are always genuine and spot on. Not to mention THE MUSIC is beyond catchy!
Really helpful video.. some great points to think about for a trick that's easy to take your mind off of. Watching this makes me realise there's loads I could do to improve mine!!
It was beautiful to wake up to a clear dawn today. I was sliding down Carn Marth into Lanner in my car only a few days ago. ❄️ Priceless tip re: that backfoot pressure for axle stalls, you’re making it look easy! Cheers Jon. 🙌🙌
Speaking of back foot control, would love to hear of any progress on frontside 5-0. I share the dream. Love all your vids. Im in Australia and old enough to have ridden a 2 line Wipika! Cheers, Gregg
Hey Greg Here is my vid on the f/s 5-0 grind. ua-cam.com/video/s2xreEA5SKw/v-deo.html Yeah, I learnt on a two line kite at Long reef in Sydney c2000 The beach is a hammer head breading spot. It was pretty emotional 😂
As a skate coach and a skater for over 19 years now, i want to say your axel stalls are really good, if you want them better start working on your 50/50 ginds, do the same thing as you do now but come into the trick from a bigger angle! Keep Rocking!
Yeah dude, feeling the need to get things consistent now. I was guilty of a ‘one and done’ approach, basically rushing it trying to learn as many tricks as possible?!
Jon. Just tried skating again after failing in my younger days. I only started 2 weeks ago. I’ve got the drop in, pump, bowl riding cracked but what’s your advice about first lip tricks to learn? Cheers. Ps love watching your vids. Keeps me watching all evening
Hi Alan Sounds great ! I went for backside and frontside slash grind, Then the classic ones are b/s axle stall, Rock to Fakie and tail stall. They are classed as beginner tricks, but I found them far from easy !! Good luck dude !
Yeah, it’s a tricky one cause I record the videos having never tried the trick and then that hopefully shows everything that can go wrong? Unfortunately I started the channel about a year after I learned to drop in so it’s never been something I’ve covered. I did cover it when I learned to drop in on a vert ramp, but I’m pretty sure that wouldn’t be too helpful??
@@JonBishopSkate I've got a wicked case of grip tape thumb right now. But praise lordy it's my only injury at the moment so I guess I shouldn't complain :) cheers John 👊
Opposite problem here. Come home after each session with swollen feet & unquenchable thirst. So much heat from the sun above and concrete below. Bit easier at night but so much heat built up from the day, that my feet still get cooked. BTW: No wind. You should be out surfing.
08:39 is such a good, inspiring stall, Jon.
Always good to watch, thank you
Nice! Keep pushing!
I’ll going through your earlier videos and wow you look so comfortable and smooth now. Nice!!
Many thanks for tuning in dude !!

Nice job👌I can see how you turn your upper body as you make your way back down. I need to remember that when I try it👌

Nice! Like you I have struggled with consistency with that trick. I will be applying your tips next sesh💥
They're looking solid Jon👌
It Only took 3.5 years 😂
I do these quite alot, prefer going into a nice feeble and then tap the front truck in. Looks a bit nicer IMO. Good work Jon!
Yeah dude, I was tinkering with a similar idea? I was thinking perhaps an axle tap, then out to feeble and in ??
@@JonBishopSkate never thought of that one! I'll give it a whirl.
Like how your working on perfecting your tricks Jon. I'll be doing the same with this one. Feel like the back foot weight is key.

Think going for a tweaked feeble and you'll be doing an axle stall.
