"Cultural vandals..." loved that description of the current "creators" at Marvel and DC who are vandalizing the characters we all know and love on a monthly basis. Thanks, Aaron!
Chad Mangaka: I'm truly sorry if you didn't like the ending of my story. I hope I'll do better on my next book. Virgin Comic Book Writer: Die fascist pigs!!
"You can't have it your way!" So it's offical. They're not writing for paying customers, they're writing for themselves and their friends on twitter. No wonder the comics industry is dying.
Unfortunately we live in a society now that would rather attack and lash out at someone than to face criticism from someone "Beneath them". Spurrier and Cates comments are actually laughable when i think back on reading WTF Starship Hulk, and the absofrigginlutely horrible "Uncanny Spider-man". I honestly yelled WTF after reading that trash writing. I love how the ones that commented are the ones writing asswipe material right now. There, the only way we win is by pushing back and not taking it anymore!
Does anyone find it strange how today there are writers with WITH decent scriptwriting skills end up ruining it by insulting the fans, supporting seriously bad topics like the woke and completely diminishing their quality where they believe their readers to be idiots, nostalgic consumers and who only want indoctrination?
That's the difference between having editors who give a sh*t and editors who don't. Editors who give a sh*t are able to guide their writers to turn out their best work. Editors who don't give a sh*t just let the inmates urinate in the aisles and throw poop everywhere.
True, I forgot about the editors, the more incompetence I hear, the more I think that the position is just so they can pay you and that's it, like a political position with no relevance in that sector like the women's ministry.
When you have writers using analogies that prove their points wrong it is not hard to see where the quality of story went awry. Hardware stores supposedly push tools from wish and Temu now. Apparently when you order a chicken parm from a restaurant the chef doesn’t need to make you a chicken parm. Must be one of them newfangled zoomer restaurants that weren’t made for me.
I think the general senses for everyone nowadays is they just want a good story and no one's personal politics or feelings in an established character. Which is why people are flocking more to indies comics like Rippaverse and EVS Cyberfrog etc. Marvel, DC, IDW and all these big name publishers aren't listening to their fans anymore. I am one of those people I love Rippaverse and I just now went ahead and grabbed Cyberfrog too waiting on it to come in the mail. I mostly read manga but i wanna vary my pallet some and mix it up with some western but it ain't gunna come from the mainstream nope they killed that chance. All indies and I have been seeking out more great indies to possibly read. I think I wanna try Mark Baron's Bronze Star next.
Frankly speaking I don’t really care about the underlying reasons for why a creator decides to make a story so long as it’s good. Whether it’s for themselves or for their audience, I just wanna read something enjoyable.
I think everyone do stories for themselves. The question is if you are a rare freak case of society, or an average person. An average person who makes things for an average person will do well. Queers who do comics for queers won't do very well because it is too small of a group.
@@linusgustafsson2629 or they make something good by accident, like Alan Moore with Rorschach. Watchmen would simply have not been the same if not for his story in it. Imagine if he had been cartoonishly written to be this super right wing nutjob Moore hates, and the ending was clearly the nasty "heroes" winning. He's good at writing, awful st morals, but his writing saved a character, and a story, without him intending to.
A more accurate version of Aaron's restaurant analogy- imagine going to a hamburger restaurant, ordering a burger, getting a tofu, then the staff spit in your face and tell everyone in the store you hate hamburgers and always have. That's the North American comicbook industry for the last 8 years.
It was awesome meeting you! I was the Luke Skywalker! :) That panel really was packed on Sunday. I hope Wes does come up! I would love to meet him as well. You all were so welcoming and so awesome! I just was honored!
@@Wes_From_TC it really was awesome to talk about Darkwing Duck and allot of the issues not only in the comic book industry but in film as well with him. I am glad you guys are speaking out, especially for marginalized groups that these comic book creators love to hide behind, being black and reading comics since I was 6 I am now 32, I never felt I was left out til now, and every time I felt like I spoke my mind I was called an "internalized racist" and to see you guys and others talk about this makes me go, thank GOD I am not going crazy. So thank you, you have a subscriber for life, I subbed to the page last year and haven't regretted it since. Keep up the best of the week and can't wait to see the next vid!
I was hoping you would cover this horrifying take. I've tried the new chow, it's filled with too many word bubbles and concepts too difficult for even ole Si to understand or comprehend. If the old stuff makes you fart, the new stuff will make your innards fall out. At least I still have some good food left, a box full of Jeremy Adams Flash comics I have yet to read.
hey doctor doom doing gardening would be a pretty chill little thing tbh, wouldnt be too out of character for him to be doing one thing that grants some serenity versus the stress of everything he does
Dr. Doom is still a totalitarian dictator who O think flayed his mother for a magic ritual one time as well as a mass murderer and the heroes still work with him. Except when Nick Fury once wiped out Latveria during Secret Wars because Doom was a villain he couldn’t control or plunder resources from.
I truly don't think I can ever be excited by a Marvel title anymore. DC maybe but every new title I look at and go "nice that looks GOOD" its from Image or Boom.
If it wasn't for the sugar daddies Disney and WB finincing comics, and the writers had to sell to make their money. I wonder how many characters woykd be turned gay or race swapped or sex changed or turned trans. In fact 90 percent of them would be gone. The characters would be written in character like they gave for the last 60 to 85 years. Get rid of the cancel pigs see what other skills they have apart from ruining lives.
look back to the 80's and 90's comics. if you looked at all the comic companies, they all had diverse people working there. conservative and liberals, working together to put out a comic book. Marvel and DC have gone so far into the fringe left that they even have distanced people in the middle of the political spectrum, like me. they also pushed that conservative voice out of comics. there is no balance anymore. it's all one sided views and that is what's killing comics.
DC and Marvel should raise their prices, denounce anyone who buys comics, mock everyone remotely associated with the direct market and then produce some really expensive, lackluster and tedious movies. That will show those stupid, stupid fans.
I don’t see CG as winning as their goal wasn’t to see Marvel/DC slowly withering away. CG managed to survive and find its niche to survive, but that wasn’t the initial goal. I‘m happy for them to have found a way to survive, but survival alone was imo not the winning condition.
@@davidgantenbein9362CG simply adapted to the conditions as they changed. Ultimately, someone has to win. Or more accurately, Someone's ideas/position will be proven correct or it will fail. CG was proven correct or 'won' as it were. You have to understand leftist mentality. Everything is a political position to them. So they open themselves up to the win/loss scenario. aka Hold them to, and make them play by their own rules.
@@NormLenhart-v4l No. There is no guarantee on a win-lose result. A lose-lose result is entirely possible and currently the most likely outcome. You are only politically driven, so you define „proving the point“ as a win, but that’s moving the goalpost to some superfluous point. Which means that you may be happy with a „I told you so“, but that’s not winning, that’s just gloating in a burned down building. The reality of American superhero comics is that the audience itself is no longer growing at all and that CG may survive longer, but it isn’t growing the industry and it can’t replace the big 2. CG is in a way just losing slower, but it in fact doesn’t create a future for new creators in 20+ years, similar as Marvel/DC are not doing that. Proving a point isn’t winning, not even for politicians, because being right doesn’t fix a single problem and doesn’t bring back what was lost. Please note that I didn’t say that CG isn’t right or that CG wouldn’t have done a better job if in charge of Marvel/DC. I‘m just discussing the fact that the goal was to save the industry from losing ever more customers and bring it back to a good level, not to proof a point. Hence winning isn’t proving a point, it’s bringing back American superhero comics to a better place. And let’s be frank, even if we include some sales estimations for CG in the overall, is really anybody thinking that the sales of US superhero comics are going up?
@@davidgantenbein9362 But it wasn't I that defined winning or losing. THEY made those rules. I just play by them. They said it. It's not enough that they win. It's that we and our antiquated/racist/sexist/superhomosogynistictransislamophobia MUST lose. So eye for an eye. There is nothing a leftist hates more than having their own edicts turned against them. The current mainstream is a lesson that needs to be taught so that when the cycle comes around and supers are back in fashion, there will not be a future repeat. Once upon a time Mafia movies were huge. then they went away. Then they came back. Comics went through the same boom/bust thing with the 90s. It's simply a matter of time for the collective fandom to purge the crap from it's memory and the cycle will begin again.
I don't think the Editors have any control at all. If it's anything like the modern news industry, which I am glad to no longer be a part of, the Editor is just a middle man for the instructions and agenda of the publisher. The current year work husband is powerless, not merely incompetent,, lazy or sub-80 IQ.
I have a comic title I write and draw called Aussie Battler and the Down Unders. I also write and draw a comic called Wombatman. No politics, no agenda, just fun characters and lots of action. I do it because I just want to have a superhero comic which was fun.
Jeremy Adams to Simon spurrier is the biggest writing talent downgrade I can begin to think of. A colossal waste of Adams amazing work to rehabilitate Wally West.
Adams is apparently going to get his first non-DC work on Mad Cave's 2024 FCBD "Flash Gordon" issue. Which tells me he may be contemplating a move away from DC. Not surprising, since he seemed genuinely sad not to have a chance to stick with Flash for longer
I liked Adams’ run a lot, but I don’t know why people don’t like the new run. It’s not complicated unless you can’t read I guess. It’s still about Wally and we even got Max and Bart in the most recent issue. It’s more science, but that’s how I thought Flash used to be when Waid wrote it.
Have you done a video on Ghost Machine/Image comics? I would like more information. It looks amazing with Jason Fabok, Jeff Johns, Gary Frank, Brian Hitch, and other well-known creators.
LOL suicide! Most of these writers aren’t even that good anyway. This is the death rattle of the big 2 as the customers turn away from them and go to indie comics like Image and crowdfunding. This is my impression of Marvel and DC “Yeah go away I never wanted your business anyway”.
What about presenting Dr. Doom with his wrecked face partially hidden by shadows working on a rose plant while listening Mozart reacting with contempt at a terrified minion interrupting him telling him about an emergency?
Was helping my LCS set up for a sale and came across miss meow and deathrage from Aaron Sparrow and bought the 8 issues I found up. Was surprised to find them. Excited to read them.
I actually rewrote the first four issues of each based off the existing story and art, adding pages here and there to flesh characters out more and do some world-building, then we tackled the remaining issues from there. It was an interesting experiment… I hope you like them!
Don't blame the creators, blame the editors, especially the group, exec, and EIC. If the dam editors don't care what the creators do to the company's properties and characters, and they don't care to rein in rogue creators, then why should the creators care either? Jim Lee don't give a sh*t what happens to DC characters and continuity.
These are awful people, and no one will miss them when the industry reboots. Hey Wes, any chance on that Superboy-Prime video on how he was patient zero for how comic creators turned into the fan attack monsters they are now?
Their mindset is very alarming. They don’t care about customers, retailers, legacy, profit, hardwork, or skill. It’s “read what we say or else”. It’s no wonder they hate capitalism and free speech….unless they control it.
"REVERENCE"! That IS the vocabulary word of the day. These writers (and editors!) don't revere the characters. They don't revere the creators before them or the history of the medium in general. They revere nothing for they are nihilists in their core
But they do want others to revere them, their ideas, and their "contributions" to history which makes them big hypocrites. They're nihilistic until something means a lot to them.
Dr Doom is a master of all the science. I'm sure he's an excellent horticulturist. You lure me Aaron writing Dr Doom with a story about a sentient invasive alien plant species and I'd bite. Not that I think it's a great concept but I know Aaron respects Doom as a character and me as a fan so even if it's a bad Doom comic it'll actually be Dr Doom. Also, Doom strikes me as the kind of guy to have a private sanctum with a Bonzai tree he used the Time Platform to obtain from the greatest Japanese master Bonzai farmer to ever live.
Yes. The human insects who self-proclaim to be on the "right side of history," the same immoral people who think they are "better than" everybody else, are filled with more hate than the people they are against. They get to tell business what they can and cannot say. They tell businessmen what they can and cannot publish. In more rational times, society would recognize fascist dictators.

This is my deal with them "Comics is not restaurant!" beech they literally working a same way, if i want Ironman book with Chinese food and you trying to sell me Gay-coming-out story with hotdogs, guess what - i'm gonna be angry as fak and walk away.
I agree. If I’m at a restaurant about to tuck into my meal that I ordered, I don’t want someone to snatch away my food and replace it with something I don’t like (or might even be allergic to) while saying, “Here, this is what you *should* be eating! This is what you should have ordered!”
I haven’t seen the Ram V comments but after dropping Batman, Detective has been on life support for me. If he is actually criticizing fans or retailers this will help me pull the plug.
Speaking of the issue about creators who do crowd funding projects, and whether they could also get them published through the mainstream ( into local comic shops )… That’s what I do with Sean Gordon Murphy’s latest projects “The Plot Holes” and “Zorro: Man of the Dead”. I have The Plot Holes TPB via the crowd funder, and will soon have all the floppies as well that I’ve been purchasing through my local comic shop. Same with Zorro. The project will be in fulfillment for the TPB soon and the floppies, which I’ve signed up for at my local comic shop, will be starting a short time later.
It honestly hard to believe most of these people care for comics at this point. For what most of them ever bloody do is look for something to use as a one up against someone else. They have no interest in saving the comic industry. all they care about is power, even if that power barely means anything. Long as they are the top dog. People making their own comics, trying to get it into comic shops? Oh hey Mark ward trying to stop that. Oh hey people promoting and showing off the comics they brought? Your pure freaking evil, for showing you buy and support comics. All they have done is turn comics into an abusive relationship. Hoping people are to attach to their favorite ips, they will just keep supporting them blindly without caring for quality. Anytime there is a slight bit of hope, things will turn around. These morons come out in force and remind you of the brutal reality. They would sooner burn the whole industry to the ground, than admit they did anything wrong. Maybe i'm wrong at that last one but hey, that would just mean I win for comics finally gets better and is worth getting into again. Which they also reveal how they don't care about story telling time and time again. Oh my god the character is blue, this is the first blue character. How amazing this character is for merely existing. Please. That not even a character, just a cord board cutout you slap onto the page. Thrawn from heir to the empire books is a character. Smart, wise, interested in culture of others. They have depth and character to them. They want praise just for things merely existing and always find some nonsense reason, to put anything but the story first. Where if they put the story first, they might write some good stories. Earn some money, respect and fame but no. All they want to do is be a bucket of crabs and drag everyone down with them.
1:37 Yes! And if you write those more "generic feeling" Spider-Man stories well enough, people will be more inclined to check out your other work naturally. These people don't seem to understand what they're even doing. Or what planet they're on.
Ram V and Si Spurrier write the kind of stuff (both are doing a weak Neil Gaiman pastiche IMO) that gets nominated for Eisner awards in an era that it has no prestige or associated sales success. Spurrier will probably win this year's GLAAD award. So they are "critically acclaimed" types, but the comic book media has no credibility or following.
I really wouldn’t lump Ram V into that category. I’ve been reading his Detective Comics run, and he’s definitely not one of those writers that’s trying too hard to be the next Alan Moore like Spurrier or even Ton King.
This is why creators need to know the continuity. Fans instinctively know the history and voice of the character. Talentless hacks can only write themselves.
I was literally reading an Archie Christmas digest while I was listening to you guys rag on Archie. It's a holiday tradition for me. Archie comics have their moments.
I mean i can 100% see Doom using magic to grow fields of flowers and whatnot, with some monologue about his kingship. Then in usually villainous gardening fashion using the weeds as a metaphor for the heroes he wants/needs to get rid of.
But you’ve rooted in in the character instead of making yourself the character. Congrats, you’re already more qualified to be a writer than 75% of the current “pros.”
I actually do write and have bene working on a few novels, and a quote that really sticks out and describes the process is "Man Plans, God Laughs." There is room for personal experience, but they need to learn to first step out of their own heads. Then adapt to the changes that comes from the character's own perspective. In relation to that quote I've placed myself in the shoes of 'man' while the story is 'god' as much as reasonably possible.
The Creepypasta Wiki has a story called “The Indoctrination of Roses” in which the narrator claims her brother is trying to take over the world using a mind-control drug made from roses. It’s a psychological story because it makes you wonder, “Is any of this actually happening or is this some paranoid person having delusions?”
Exactly. We’ve had more than enough comic books with maybe four panels of action and the rest of the issue consisting of characters sitting at a cafe talking about sandwiches or beer or cramps or whatever.
Man, I miss the Move the Needle days. There is the occasional good book out there still with the Big 2, but, they're few and far between. I've been reading some recent Superman stuff with Josh Williamson and I've been digging that. But, I've been mostly buying Spider-Man comics from the '80s these days
Whoa. Whoa. Whoa. I'll defend Si Spurrier's work on Legion in X-Men Legacy. It basically defined what became the Legion TV series. That book was a great expansion on the character and Blindfold... Though David speaking with a Scottish accent was a bit a odd - but it was still a good run.
It's a good thing I don't follow comic book creators online. I'm sure doing so would dampen any enthusiasm I may have for modern comics, which hasn't been all that much lately. As I have stated before on this channel, I haven't bought a modern comic for over 5 years. For someone who's been a fan since the late '90s, that's a pretty big hiatus for me. If you would've told me back then that I'd stop at some point, I would've thought you were crazy. I've been buying DC omnibuses for titles from yesteryear, of comics I never read, though. So there's that. But I just took the plunge & preordered some comics from DC for February 2024. I've always kept up with the solicitations over the years. Not a lot grabbed my attention. Not enough were worth the shipping costs I'd incur with an order, that's for sure. I think the Robin (Damian Wayne) title was the last thing that got my interest. But some of the solicits & covers got me intrigued enough to try them out again. Since the LCS near me closed years ago & relocated elsewhere, I'll be getting things from an online source. It's something I've done in the past and just makes things more convenient for me. And I don't even care that I'll be reading several titles that are in mid storyline (would never of had done that before!), I just found those particular ones interesting. I'll be getting the 3 Batman issues, Sinister Sons, the Batman: Off-World issue, the Poison Ivy issue & the Wesley Dodds: The Sandman issue that month. I'm also getting The Batman & Scooby-Doo Mysteries #2 (for Solomon Grundy). I've heard good things about the Batman/Superman: World's Finest title here & elsewhere, so I'm going to try out the first volume TPB for that title (preordered, but comes out in March). I'm getting the City Boy TPB (out in April) & the Lobo: Big Fraggin' Compedium (out in June) also. I'm excited to dip my toe back into the water, excited for the possibility of what the stories may bring. It's a good feeling. So I'll see how things go. Maybe some will grab me that month or others down the line will. But now I'm intrigued enough to at least try again. And that's a good thing.
Well, to be honest, that way of writing worked over at Avatar Press like "The Crossed" line. Wait a minute. What?!? Avatar Press hasn't published new comics in YEARS! Oh, never mind then...
Tolkien had a tale in the Silmarillion where his self-insert won the heart of the insert of his wife (the most beautiful creature in all creation) and "Beren and Luthien" is the best story in the book. Likewise, my favorite Game of Thrones character is the one thought to be Martin's self insert (Tyrion). Self inserts *can* be done well. The problem is each of these "writers" have a minimum 3:1 narcissism to talent ratio.
Not every self-insert is the same. Just compare Stan Lee‘s self-insert, J. Jonah Jameson, with „I‘m not Starfire“. You can’t seriously tell me that those are in any way or form the same thing.
MARVEL and DC leadership own this. They are allowing their employees to insult, berate and attack their customers ( and allowing them to write the kind of unwanted content that has been killing sales as well).
The best books out right now are all indie books. Death Death Death by Joe Ball. The Embrace by 9 realms publishing. Groken by Kenneth Rocafort. The Company Men by The Man Called Kemosabe. And many others.
I knew if I stopped buying it would create waves! 😂 I really hope Mark Millar doesn't cave to the cancel pigs! If he does I'm finished with new comics period! Your show is a masterpiece as usual! Thanks!
I think and a know a lot of people self inserted themself into a comic. Just to go on the example Dr Doom can have a garden he likes to spend time in, take care of. But what I would do is say he does it to clear his mind, tend to his plants like he tends to his country, maybe try stuff in his garden that can lead to improving his country. Or improving tactics in fighting F4. But you don't make that the whole comics! It's a panel here and there, maybe tell that story at the same time as a battle with the F4. That's why I say the main problem is these people can't write, it's not the self inserts or changing mantles/genders. It's dumb and not needed sure, but a good writer can make that work. Bad ones can't!
I don’t follow the independent/crowdfunded stuff so I miss out on a lot of the comics, but I would hit the shelves to see what I miss if they could be on the shelves. The comics pro have destroyed the industry, they have attacked their coworkers, distributors, retailers, independents, and the fans. Now that they’re feeling the heat, they are yet again doing the only thing they know: insulting and attacking. Everything people like Ya boi Zack and Rippa tried to do, the pros attacked them. There is no one left to defend the cancel pigs. The audience is gone. The retailers are gone. The distributor couldn’t care less.
That'd be amusing or even moving, if done right: Doctor Doom tending to roses in his inner sanctum garden. But not in the hands of the current crop of Marvel writers.
I don’t think Si Spurious’s comments make a lot of sense, like his comics really. He seems to be saying there was no variety in older comics, which is totally wrong. And how does he know older fans don’t try anything new, has he ever spoken to the people he has such disdain for? Not likely.
P.S. Give me a reason why I should buy stocks emitted by Disney Publishing Worldwide and DC Entertainment other than to have a write-off for losses incurred on my tax forms?
According to the League Of Comic Geeks weekly pulls you can see where Jeremy Adams Flash as averagig being in 2nd place a lot of weeks behind Nightwing. And sometimes even 1st place when it was coming out bi-weekly. You can clearly see where Si-gh Spurriur's Flash is already around 4th and 5th place already! It is losing readers.
I am one of those long time fans. former comic shop owner, comic creator, indie convention runner who these "comic pros" have chased away. I no longer buy modern comics after 35+yrs. Bye bye. Lets go True Indie Comics.
I’m surprised to see y’all not like Spurrier’s Flash so much. It’s not complicated, is just more science focused and that’s normal for Flash, Wally is also still written the same. I liked Adams’ run, but it was just fun without much more to it. I’m really curious to see where this run is going. There also just isn’t nearly as much politics in books as everyone screams about right now.
I've said it before and I'll say it again: Marvel and DC only continue to exist because the cost to run those damn companies is so small that the executives have forgotten they exist. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if Marvel's entirely yearly budget is less than a SINGLE EPISODE of She-Hulk on Disney+ Disney and Warner bought them for their IP, and they have the IP. They don't care if comics loses readers every single month because their objective has already been accomplished.
I have become so disheartened by new comics, but there are so many goid back issue stories and so much goid manga coming out that i am still able to enjoy . at least is something. Yeah it can get pricey buying back issues, if thete is no graohic novel, buy i can judt get the series slower and enjoy the series a lot. Yeah a lot if new comics stories suck, the art is ugly imo and i am so sick if the clumsy akward self inserts, but thankfully there are so many old books to tuen too.
Wes man I love your show and listen very intently and I just hope the floppy comics change the editors get shit canned for better and more competent people fill those roles. But you are the best please keep it up thank you ⚡️💥🔥⚡️💥🔥
Whatever you may think of the comics industry (and God knows it has always had its flaws), at least in the past you could trust that both creators and readers had a common place where they could always meet: Their love for the art. Now, as a long time fan, I feel comics have turned into a cash grab. Even worse, creators and publishers actively and purposedly destroy the characters we so much loved, and expect us to either love it, or shame us into loving it. It's kindergarten all over again. What the F happened?!
We ask Marvel and DC how small they want the audience to be and the answer is always Yes.
And then they will call you racist and sexist.

“You want the hamburger you ordered!? Well, you’re just a racist, sexist, homophobic, transphobic piece of garbage on the wrong side of history!”
Hedonists destroy, moralists create.

Aaron is a great dude!
I decided to drop it after 3 issues. It's so bad.
hey doctor doom doing gardening would be a pretty chill little thing tbh, wouldnt be too out of character for him to be doing one thing that grants some serenity versus the stress of everything he does
And that, boys and Squirrels, is why Comicsgate won.

How about Tomassi and Venditti to Bendis?
@fishin4bass2002 Glad he's staying at DC, but only if they keep giving him good assignments (and pay him well, obviously)
@@WeirdScienceComics Fair Point. That one's pretty close too.

I covered it but there isn't much info yet.
4:40 Wes, bro, you don't think it'll work?! That sure ruffles Goron's turtleneck.
The gardening wasn't the focus. The things that embody Doom was which is why that works and those creators are so untalented they can't do it.
@SparrowAaron I'm sure I will. Really liked your darkwing duck run. Looking forward to reading and thanks for keeping the torch going! 👍
I never associated cosmic horror with the Flash. I think it's a genre that is better suited for the likes of Hal Jordan and Superman.
It worked when Grant Morrison and Mark Millar did it. Si Spurrier has less talent than either of them have in their toe nail clippings.
Really enjoying all this extra Aaron we've been getting on the channel, Wes. It eases the pain of, you know... being a comics fan.

As soon as I said it, I thought of three Doom stories that would work. 😂
Doesn't it seem like comic pros hate absolutely everyone
Including themselves.

"Like Donny Cates driving a boat". Ah ha ha😂
Two out of three comic shops in my area carry Lopresti, Meyer and Nolan so Heidi should maybe walk into a comic shop for a change. This is in NY too.
Move the Needle was started by Ya Boi Zack.
Move the needle was started by Axel Alonso - he claimed comic artists didn't move the needle. It spiralled from there.
He can't tell a story to save his soul.@@CoreyAdolfi

This is why creators need to know the continuity. Fans instinctively know the history and voice of the character. Talentless hacks can only write themselves.
Awesome work guys
Yep
I could see Doctor Doom creating a nefarious plant that facilitates his takeover of the world. Could be an interesting story.
All these writers need to stop talking and try writing an exciting superhero story.
Exactly. We’ve had more than enough comic books with maybe four panels of action and the rest of the issue consisting of characters sitting at a cafe talking about sandwiches or beer or cramps or whatever.
Lmao go back to when ram v got on detective and you were hopeful. Find the comment where I said don’t hold out hope ram v is a hack

So, don't buy it?
Wheres the Christmas tree
@@davidgantenbein9362 Yeah...that's pretty much my point.
These people are divas. They think they come to "fix" the stories and characters they're given, that "their touch" will solve all of the "problematic"

Your show is a masterpiece as usual! Thanks!
Marvel-DC Cafe: We serve food you don't want to eat!
They cant hide the sales figures forever.
I support these creators making the audience leave then they are out of work.
Time for the parallel economy and entertainment.
Where did Ram V and Ron Marz start lecturing people? X or Facebook?
It was on X.
Titans Conan is a refreshing book. They’re going old school in vibe and art, and it’s great
I don’t follow the independent/crowdfunded stuff so I miss out on a lot of the comics, but I would hit the shelves to see what I miss if they could be on the shelves.
But not in the hands of the current crop of Marvel writers.
once again brothers you hit it again

I love comic books and used to buy them. I don't know where it all went wrong, but I just know it's all my fault.
I've said it before and I'll say it again: Marvel and DC only continue to exist because the cost to run those damn companies is so small that the executives have forgotten they exist. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if Marvel's entirely yearly budget is less than a SINGLE EPISODE of She-Hulk on Disney+
Disney and Warner bought them for their IP, and they have the IP.
The wacky audio drops and echo effects and stuff make me die inside

I do my best.
