My history is all Grand Forks. The majority of my family was from Emerson manitoba who moved to Pembina ND then to Grand Forks. Why do I remember that now that I read your comment? I remember being a young child walking thru a tunnel on the way to Whitey's from down by the riverbed.

I grew up in Neche. Things have changed a lot since I moved away.
Back in the river boat days there was a tunnel that whent from the river to the basement to whiteys Cafe. My uncle had pictures of it.
