The biggest missed opportunity in this game was having Nemona use some of the big guns she talks about not facing you with earlier in the game

@@VinntillionShe uses a Tauros in the previous playthrough. I wish her final battle used gholdengo since Nemona was definitely capable of getting one.
@@VinntillionDont think she was referencing Goodra, since we've seen her use Goomy and Sligoo in her rival battles, meaning that she evolved that Goodra throught the game.

Actually, at some point (i think before or after the big battle with nemona?) Geeta reveals that even during Nemona's champion assessment, she could tell she still wasn't quite giving it everything she had.
However, after the battle Nemona herself does mention that she can't wait for round 2 with us and she's already so excited about trying to decide which Pokemon she'll use. Assuming we do battle her again in the dlc, personally i'm looking forward to it too, and hopefully she'll be even stronger.

I love how Nemona character is. She has many teams and once even cant battle us because she wasnt with the right team for that. Even though she started a totally new team just to rival a newbie (us), this team gets really strong very fast deserving an S tier as we reach the champion rank to follow her in this short time

Nemona is so awesome and I love her team. She was the only battle in the game (maybe besides Rhyme) that gives me a hard time consistently
Rhyme gave you trouble? I went in with Skeledirge and Annihilape and she couldn't touch me.

@@Gorgosauruslibra Yeah but rivals aside Hoeen don't have any Gym Leader or Elite specialist in grass types and champions either...I mean, some of they have one Grass type on his team like Walace's Ludicolo, Sidney's Swiftry and Winona's Tropius but they are the real unique treats to Swampert who can easily destroys most of their team's without many trouble.

One thing that I’ll never understand is that Nemona doesn’t have a Tauros in her final battle. Admittedly I don’t know what I’d replace for it but it’s weird for her to use one in the opening cutscene
Edit: as it turns out, she does do something with her Tauros. She trades it to you after you battle her twice as a special coach in the indigo disk (which wasn’t out at the time of the original comment). This is still the only time the game acknowledges the mon, so I think my point still stands
The team she’s using at the end of the game appears to be the same one she’s been raising alongside you throughout the game, so we never actually get to see her main team that she used to become champion. That’s possibly the team she uses a Tauros on
@@nolangerrans6083 that’s a decent point, but for Nemona’s “first all out battle” it feels weird for her not to use what seems to be her old ace. Maybe they can use it in a rematch battle in the DLC or an event sync pair in Masters EX
The Orthworm is her only team member that isn't really good. It'd be good if it couls pull off a Shed Tail, but it doesn't have that and wouldn't be that great even if it did. Tauroa is faster and would be stronger. It would unfortunately mean that if you choose Sprigatito Nemona would have 3 fighting types, but I don't mind that too much.

I remember my final fight with Nemona. She sent out Lycanroc, I sent out Toxipex. She stealth rocks just as I put down Poison Spikes and that’s when I knew this was gunna be a FIGHT FIGHT.
I can't bring myself to like her team because she has a Dudunsparce, wich means i'm 100% forced to look at that Pokemon during her fight, and that's a big no no from me.
Other than that it's a very good rival-like team. It gives off Blue vibes with that type diversity.
Wally in USUM have one good team too but he isn't your rival in that game, just a "ordinary" trainer...

The problem with Nemona and Geta is that they always use their ace last which means if its good against something on your team it wont show up until you’ve killed all their mons already. Cynthia’s garchomp wouldn’t have been nearly as bad if she ALLWAYS saved it for last.
I would love it if in the DLC you get to see Nemona’s team from when she first gained the champion rank. Considering you only see the team she decides to use traveling through the region with you, I’d love to see the powerhouse team that made people basically not want to battle her
Nemo's final match in the main story was honestly the only time I actually struggled in my entire run of Violet. It was an even match overall and the ending came down to a 1v1 with my Tinkaton coming in clutch in the end. Such a fun fight with godtier music as well.
I do want to question this a little bit. Doesn’t 3-4 of her team members fall to a powerful fighting type move? For half of her team have a shared weakness feels a bit of a glaring issue.

3, not 4. Even if she has meowscarada, it terastalizes into pure grass. But good point. Half the team is weak to fighting. Then again, half of Cynthia’s platinum team is weak to ice.
I think S tier is a bit too high, I would say A+, she is blue level, with terra covering the difference to Alakazam. S tier status requires it to be a bit more over the top.
Nemona is DEFINITELY champion material, I had to switch out and use max potions and full heals MULTIPLE TIMES!😅

I love refighting her! Even being ~20 levels higher than her, she still gives me a challenge.
Edit: When fighting her in the Indigo Disk, I also struggle and still barely make it out on top. Her terastallizing her starter in a different type caught me off guard the first time.
Hilariously, my own team ended up unintentionally copying half of Nemona’s team. Meowscarada, Pawmot, and Goodra were mons we both had. She’s got good taste in team building👌
That hyper drill messed me up on my first playthrough
Unlike most pokemon rivals that made me roll my eyes when I saw them, I looked forward to seeing Nemona pop out throughout my journey from gym to gym. Her personality is way more fun and I gotta love her fighting Arven over who gets to be my number 1 fan
Nemona is my favorite rival by far. Before the last battle with her when she says " these people gathered from far around but I the most excited by a mile" I felt that.
Geeta was hard for me on my playthrough, though I was using a C team as I ran out of revives on the elite four for my good pokemon so maybe thats why.

tbf, Volo is literally Cynthia but in the past. Take everything said about her team, add in the other two phases, plus strong/swift style.

I kinda wish that her starters tera type was the type super effective against your starters type and that she had tera blast to make the battles just the smallest bit more interesting plus it would've been a great way to show off the gimmick of gen 9

Personally, Nemona is one of my favourite rivals in the whole series. I just found her interesting.
Keep in mind, this is her secondary team
She is making a new team at the start of the game, only god knows how deadly her actual team is
I still remember a video talking about how Nemona was supposed to have this god level/competitive team after you beat both the main game and the tournament arc. But Instead we got a fucking black screen that lasts around 5 seconds
She would be a lot more threatening if she didn’t lead with Lycanroc in every battle up until that point.

nemona’s pawmot sweeped my team the first time i fought her because 4 out of my 6 pokémon were under leveled and the two that were decent level were not good against it
Part of me is wondering if that’s actually her best team. She stated that she was going to start new and at your level during your journey, so part of me wonders if she has an even greater team!

Well, since in paldea champion is a rank, that means ALL champion rank trainers will need to be ranked, so penny, arven, geeta and (presumably) sada and turo are left.
I am not sure if robots can qualify as champion ranked trainers.

I really think that Geeta is explicitly easy to win against because she is not the final boss of the league as in other games, it’s Nemona
Pawmot (with nemona’s set) is alright, but give it revival blessing and that immediately shoots nemona’s team from S- to S+. It’s like having to fight 6.5 Pokémon. And if she also had rabsca (which also gets revival blessing), then it’s basically fighting 7 Pokémon.

My only criticism with Nemona’s team is that she uses Orthworm, which was already a Titan boss and results in half of her team being weak to fighting in all iterations. I think Nemona should’ve been the only trainer in the game to have a Gholdengo, preserves the steel type on her team without the fighting weakness, and Nemona is the one character that would go the extra mile to get a Gholdengo either intentionally or by accident from coincidentally battling any Ghimmigoul she sees.

Imagine if you beat her outside the league with this team and then she faces you as champion with her old team she kept talking about.
Fighting types would run through her team, especially if she has Meowscarada (if you chose Fuecoco)
I like that the starters second types make them more equal, as the second types are effective (or eatlest resist) in reverse
Unlike kalos, where for example, both of greninjas types are good against delfox, both delfoxes types are good against chesnot and both of chesnots types are good against greninja
Here it especially makes sense, since nemona chooses the weaker starter against yours, but, when they are both fully evolved, they are on more equal grounds, like, sprigatitos grass is good against quaxlys water, but quaklavals fighting is good against meowscaradas dark

Geeta could've been extremely challenging. She just had her team in the wrong order.
I was using Palafin to try and sweep her..... her Pawmot survived Jet Punch and used Double Shock oneshotting it..... i won the battle but it was horrifying XD.

I both love and hate the idea of Champion not being an exclusive title.
One one hand it goes against everything we’ve ever known about becoming “champion” and how it means “you’re the best in the region”.
On the other hand, I like that there are multiple champions, because if you beat a Champion once, that means you’re now THE Champion of that region. It’s not exactly fair. Also, it leaves room open for a League of Champions of some sort. Every region has its own Champion, therefore there are already multiple Champions. Also, with all these mobile games calling their characters “Champions” when they’re really just “Guys”, (lookin’ at you, RAID) the meaning of the word has diminished in gaming.

On paper it is good but if you have a fast Pokémon you can just one shot her entire team like I did

It's just sad that you can count the number of hard battles in normal Pokémon games on one hand. Like yeah the team is solid, compared to other teams the base games have to offer, but it's just not a challenge. Like I get it, toddlers should be able to get through while clicking A, but nothing is more legendary than sting teams like Cynthia or red in the second Gen.
