I was going to mention that Dolly Parton is a national treasure, but I see David H. beat me to it. 😃This is so much fun, their voices blend well together, and you do a great job of pointing out the differences and their choices. How many years has Dolly been singing Jolene?? FIFTY years this year. Talk about longevity! She and Miley clearly love each other and enjoyed every minute of this. On another note, I think most of those here would agree with me that we learn so much from your analyses. You really do a wonderful job of explaining things in a way that just makes sense, even for those of us with limited vocal performance backgrounds. I would imagine you do the same with your students, if I had to guess. ❤ BUT. We also never know what else we will get, especially when you get excited about what is happening. Your joy overflows, resulting in examples like this: "You know what, I'm just going to end up punching this mic!" "I've got chills. It's probably because it's January and I'm wearing this! Who decided that? 🤷♀ Me." You help us learn, you make us laugh, and you share your joy. Thank you. 🥰
Jolene Miller it is funny to here someone with your name to say strangers come up and sing this song to you but I can understand. I hope you are not annoyed. TY for sharing.
I was pretty impressed with Miley when she sang "Nothing Else Matters" with Metallica on the Howard Stern Show. I think she did a fantastic job, you should check that out Jen!
I also really liked this one : Miley Cyrus - Midnight Sky in the Live Lounge ua-cam.com/video/AxZl2cFvjRs/v-deo.html and a song i also really liked already when she was still at Disney was "The Climb". I mean she already had this ultra raspy voice even when she was so young and with good songs she is great.
Luv how you go to nerd heaven, Thx Jen. Dolly Parton IMO is one of the greatest ever and and I do not use that term often. I believe that in order to even be considered in that vein an artist has to bring the complete package, you need to have a great voice, be an entertainer, write your own lyrics and musical score, but most important be able to pull an audience in and have them believe what you are trying to tell them in each story that you present. I wonder how many fans actually know that Dolly Parton has written hundreds of songs for dozens of artists. Never get tired of great music no matter the genre. thx again keep it up.
Brent, I understand your standard and I agree Ms Dolly Pardon has it! Yes, I do know her long history. I also continue wish her good health, her husband of over 50 + years good health, & both of them continued happiness. I like listening to her even at this age. Just like I like listening to Ray Stevens at this age too.
Jennifer! Nice song choice! Dolly is a national treasure. And this is a great duo. Heard that difference you highlighted on "Jolene" right away after you explained it! And so playful ... Dolly is 46 years older than Miley, could be Miley's grandmother, just great interplay. Oh and great interplay between you and that cheeky mic! 😁 Uh ... Donut worry, be happy? 🤦😅 Awesome reaction and analysis as always Jen. 😊
Oh, we're getting spoiled today with the interview on the Vocast channel and one here. 😃 I didn't even know Dolly Parton was still around. I'm not that much into country most of the time. But it's always nice seeing musicians having fun on stage while playing good music. I wouldn't complain about more videos covering this concert, but as you and Drew were talking about there is so much good music out there and so little time. There are a few bands I would love to suggest, but I also know that your list is probably several hundred songs long, already.
I do believe Dolly said "I'm gonna kick your butt" when you did not understand lol I am from an area close to where Dolly grew up, and kind of have a similar accent. She does say it fast and there is a lot of sound there, but I am pretty sure that is what she said. They blend so well with each other.
You know it's good when Jenn's gotta punch stuff. 😉 Dolly -- no one will ever sound like her again. You should analyze Pentatonix singing this with Dolly. I'm not crazy for Pentatonix but that session with Dolly is special. The collaboration won them a Grammy; Dolly's first for that song.
I have always been glad I was born with hazel eyes & brown hair (when not colored ;-) but I can't tell you how many times I've had to tell people I won't take their man.... I have the best one already 😁 P.S. mine is enough 😉💖 Thanks for your analysis and keep getting better!
This was very nice, although at the end it seemed to me that Dolly might have been lip-syncing. But that doesn't take away the greatness in the song and the show.
Your entire analysis was excellent, but I really like how you explained the difference in the "e" sound in "Jolene". I never would have caught it, but now it's plain as day. Thank you.
I get a sense that Miley is starting to move away from the pop stuff and back to her roots. I hope she can find a way to develop again. She is very good once you get passed the trash that's happened.

Oh thank you, Angie!! I’m so happy to have this platform to share the love of music and just be me haha! Thank you for being here ❤️

Somewhere out there on youtube is a live version of this with Dolly, Miley and Pentatonix.
I know Dolly and Pentatonix sing this together. I didn't know Miley also sang with them. 🤷♀️
Pentatonix and Dolly won a Grammy together for their rendition.
Agree with others the version with PTX is brilliant, would love to hear you react to it sometime. ua-cam.com/video/oYCoyUxY2HY/v-deo.html
Dolly and Pentatonix is probably my favorite version of this song and I've probably heard it more than anyone. Have had strangers sing it to me lol.
Jolene Miller it is funny to here someone with your name to say strangers come up and sing this song to you but I can understand. I hope you are not annoyed. TY for sharing.
There's one from the same night of them doing Wrecking Ball & I Will Always Love You. It's phenomenal!
Hi Jennifer hope you are having an great and awesome day ❤️
Love listening to Dolly sing anything! She is amazing. Love, love your explanations and enthusiasm as well. It’s contagious! 😊

Wow! Ah I just love watching the two of them perform together 😁 ahaha thank you!!
Dolly is actually Miley's godmother

77 Years old...bless her.

Hahah love that!
Yes, I think you're right :~) I went back to listen a couple times and I think it's "I *will* kick your butt!"
They did Wrecking Ball together too - would love to have your reaction to that!!
In answer to your question as what Dolly said to Miley at the end of the last verse, it was "I will kick your butt!"
Hahah love that!
Can you react to the Miley’s solo version of Jolene? She first performed in her backyard in 2012 😊
How energetic. Hope you continue to improve…
You have to do them singing I will always love you and wreaking ball together
You know it's good when Jenn's gotta punch stuff. 😉 Dolly -- no one will ever sound like her again. You should analyze Pentatonix singing this with Dolly. I'm not crazy for Pentatonix but that session with Dolly is special. The collaboration won them a Grammy; Dolly's first for that song.

Teddy Swims-I Can't Make You Love Me
please react to Miley Cyrus & Dolly Parton Sing "Wrecking Ball" & "I Will Always Love You" it was amazing

Oh no hahahah! Thank you😁
Dolly parton and pentonx
Really cool earrings 😊
Thanks 😁
When Miley Cyrus sings a higher note loudly, she bends her torso backwards. Is that a technical thing? Or just expression?
This was very nice, although at the end it seemed to me that Dolly might have been lip-syncing. But that doesn't take away the greatness in the song and the show.
