    At 36:15 Dr. Lisle starts a 25 minute explanation why indefinite abstinence from unhealthy food should not be the goal. The goal should be to do an excellent job, whether that is to do "B" level work, or "A-" work. It should not be to do "A+" work. I've listened to well over 100 hours of Dr. Lisle, and this explanation of how Self-Esteem, The Pleasure Trap, and the Ego Trap interact with healthy eating is one of his best.
    Thank you Chef AJ for helping Dr. Lisle share his work.

    When he said in the beginning " try heroin" to lose the last 10 pounds.....as a former heroin addict I can say that the reason a heroin addict is so thin is that the heroin has become more important than the pleasure of food. Ironically even after I quit the heroin I never again felt that food was a source of pleasure.....its just fuel. Ive learned that the key to sticking to any diet like the raw diet is the same as quitting heroin. I had to learn to love being healthy more than being high. You just have to fall in love with feeling healthy much more than tasting anything. The best way to do that os to fall in love with the endorphins from say exercise or if you are into anything.....pour your passion into that. Just eat what you consider is right for your health but dont focus on the thought of food.....focus on what you truly hold as your own heroin.......what causes you to feel alive? That is your heroin....that is what you do for joy. Food is not something I even consider a source of fun.....no more than is sleep or breathing......people focus so much on liking the taste of food. Don't eat for pleasure ......do other things for pleasure. Im a very thin person all my life. Im just telling you how I view food.....and how i eat a raw to nearly raw vegan diet 37 years... have not gained any weight and im 54. I see people so miserable over being fat. Its how they view food as a their main comfort and pleasure. That has to change. Food is meant to power the body......other things should be our source of endorphins.

    I lost 150 pounds being on a plant based diet and I would still cheat ( Vegan Junk food ) but it's what I do most of the time which is real plant foods without oil. Dr. Lisle made me feel so proud of myself! 1 out of thousand that blew me away! Trust me I'm not perfect and I know the enemy that's the difference! I also now have great blood pressure and great cholesterol from almost leaving this world, Vegans Rock!

    Dr. Joel Fuhrman's , "the salad is the main meal" works to lean out. So does weight training. Been at it for 44 yrs & it is SUPER effective. I changed my diet to plant based & I can keep my weight stable & I feel incredible. It must be the diet.

    I eat mainly WFPB diet, and as a result dropped from 110 Kg to my current weight of 62 Kg. (dont need or want to loose more. BMI= 21. age 64) I have been that way for 3 years but I occasionally eat a bit of fish or Chicken (maybe once every 3 or 4 months)
    All my respect to Dr Lisle for having the courage to admit the we humans were also designed to eat meat. Most Vegans will not even entertain the thought.
    Whether we need it or not is a different subject.

    Very helpful explanations in this video - especially considering the whole world is increasingly telling us to eat more protein and less carbs. That’s so interesting what he says about raw food lifestyle and too thin and side effects etc... when I was low-fat starch based (I lived on rice & potato with sides of steamed veggies and raw fruits ) and I was my smallest ever - size 0 & Skipped lots of mensural periods. I was a stick . Years later, for digestive issues, I switched over to a raw food diet, no more starches, still low fat & I went up a few sizes (size 4-6) and gained about 10-15 lbs. All raw food, no oils nor nuts/seeds. Also started to have regular mensural cycle . So 🤷🏻‍♀️

    thank you for this Chef AJ and Dr. Lisle, this has been very helpful. The part about being hyper vigilante nutcase who still has a difficult time with the WFPB way of eating/energizing ourselves and the weight loss issue. I love eating clean, as it were, and yet I notice that even at 183 (at 5'5") with lots of room to lose, I only lose weight (right now) when I manage portions to be small (think Rice Diet Report/Rice Diet Solution portion sizes). It truly helps to hear that eating in the healthy WFPB appropriate portions are against our innate evolutionary drive. It helps me to stick to this path, even with slow weight loss.

      I have the same experience. I cannot eat a lot of fruit. I feel too sugared up. A little of that goes a very long way for me. I feel better with salad veggies and lightly steamed cruciferous vegetables like broccoli and kale. Cabbage becomes too sweet too once cooked, so I like it raw in my salad. I don't even care for the squashes. They're very sweet as well. And I much prefer a Yukon gold potato over a sweet potato. 🙂🌱

    I have found that lasers have helped my skin so much. I have mild rosacea and if it were not for modern technology, I'd have a face full of broken blood vessels. I think that men often really do not understand how women feel about these issues (Although that is a separate topic from safety). I know there are some risks, but I'd rather take that small risk than live for the rest of my life with "the human condition". I mean, I drive a car most days, too. Talk about risk to my person, right? And didn't the human condition also include high infant mortality and infection? I'm just saying that it is not black and white here. I also fasted at True North for seven days last January. I am normal weight and health, but wanted to try it. It was a great experience.

    Doesn't salt sugar and fat appear in nature in the form of fruit? I'm thinking like a fig that has sugar, fat from seeds, and I'm sure it has some natural sodium. I eat watermelon seeds to and I'm sure they have that. Just wondering😊

    Understand the mating argument BUT a woman's appearance is also judged in the professional world and attractiveness helps you in your career as well. This is of course partly down to males recruiting many women. This is just wrong and as we get more females into power, this will hopefully get better. Be careful portraying women as only after mating. Not true.

      As a female I would naturally be drawn to hire both fit and attractive males and females. Did you know that it has been scientifically proven that babies react differently to a symmetrical face as opposed to an ugly asymmetrical persons face. The golden ration of beauty is embedded in all of nature the most fit of the species is refected as beauty .....all living things are dependent on the survival of the fittest.....sometimes the person who is not the most educated actually has the ability to communicate more effectively simply because more people will actually listen to the attractive speaker children are naturally drawn like magnets to beautiful people so we cannot discount our senses of sight.....even though it does not seem fair. Maybe we cannot be summed up by just our brains.....we also are in a physical world so we will always have beauty as a factor in this world. Beauty sells billions of dollars of products.......for some reason.

    Wow! Try heroin! Yeah. You CAN be too thin!

    • @lauraestes9304
      @lauraestes9304 Рік тому

      I just posted about that above....i was a heroin addict its true. The reason is because food loses the ability to hold importance. Even after I quit the heroin....food remained as just fuel. I turned my joy or endorphins that I got from the heroin into an addiction to feeling strong and fit and healthy.....food is merely fuel .... Not a source of endorphins. That's how to learn whats really making heroin addicts so thin. The opiates dont make us thin.....they surpass any opiates from eating so eating becomes no longer a source of pleasure.....so dont start the heroin .....just take on the mind of an addict and its the same thing. Lol
