So to recap: IDLE RAM = Lubuntu: ~554MB / Xubuntu: ~567MB RAM after 5 Apps = Lubuntu: ~1.03GB / Xubuntu: ~1.01GB RAM after 10 Tabs = Lubuntu: ~2.06GB / Xubuntu: ~2.28GB Looks like they're both neck and neck, which is awesome, so you really should just go for whichever interface you like the most. There might be a very slight advantage to Lubuntu/LXQt desktop environment but it's very minimal.
xubuntu has minimal version which will reduce ram a bit more. lub does not. xub feels more modern, colorful, stylish. lub more retro, bland, list-menus and square-like. xub is more customiseable, which adds more to its point on stylish/look and feel. the ram diffs are irrelevant. so close that both OS are equal. either will go higher in ram for whatever reason, at times. i see no reason to prefer lub unless retro feel is what one wants. i don't even consider an os as lighter on ram unless it steadily used about 300+ MB less ram in typical use-case. and probably 500+ is a better number to use for most people using old pcs. only reason to care about ram is if typical use-case nears maxing out the physical ram. so you just want lighter OS to keep doing normal comp stuff. but it's Very rare for someone to need a 300MB lighter os. most time its over 500mb to 1000mb that they need os to be lighter. so i see these ram vids as pointless unless its 500mb or 1000mb diff. because those diffs are relevant diffs to the Common old pc (around 4GB physical ram). 300,200,100, not meaningful at all (unless pc is like 2gb ram).
@@ZiadElsayed1797 yes, I read that you have to move the themes to /usr/share/themes/ but I have never changed the theme again and also the icons /usr/share/icons
