The first time I was an autocad user. so just to try a free open source software I tried freecad but the learning system and the UI was so complex. then I moved to the ondsel. because that has a simple and less option. there was quite handy. and after quitting Ondsel I return back to the freecad again. now it has clean ui. it looks very good. I hope the freecad team will make it easier by removing unnecessary options.

Ubuntu 24.10 includes my Warty Remastered Wallpaper (as a PNG file with 8K resolution due to Ubuntu's 20 Years = 2004 - 2024). It does have issues for gaming with Wine/Proton 6.3 or later due to keyboard latency whether the game runs smooth or not. (Yes, it's possible to get that fixed by using XIM rather using IBus but downgrading IBus to an older version is another way) But, rebooting a Wi-Fi (iwlwifi) will not work properly which it's isn't that big a deal to certain great devices (followed by Linux Kernel 6.11).

I use Fedora 41 Cinnamon. It uses around 1-1.2 GB RAM (I have 12 GB) after boot with dnfdragora and gnome software centre in the background.

My linux history was like this. First I tried Lubuntu on a VM, then Kali Linux on a phone, then I got fedora dualbooted on my primary laptop, then I tried Pop_os! (don't recommend, it was buggy), and now I'm on arch for about 4 months now. The entire history spans about 3 years though

Linux needs to up it's game more than ever right now because people need the alternative to windows and mac after their shiddy business practices lately. It's at this time windows is starting to attempt to brick peoples computers so you have to get their holy windows 11 or your a heretic kind of behavior. They stop support for windows 10 so that means in windows terms opening the floodgates to the worst malware and viruses the internet has to offer and some from windows themselves because they want you off windows 10.... I'm tired of this new digital landscape so I am hoping linux has an answer

MINT is NOT just for beginners. It is for everyone! Some people just don't care to be techies and spend more time on fixing their operating system rather than simply getting their work DONE! Others LIKE Fedora... you will be working on your OS more than you would if you were on Mint.

Fedora is still problematic! My tool bar got accidentally messed up and cannot find a way to straighten it out. Not much works in that regard. With Ubuntu editions, you can easily install software and apps. But on the rpm distro... not so much. Tried to install Etcher and failed.

I was expecting to see a Fedora spin that contains Steam, Proton, Lutris, Heroic Launcher and everything properly installed and configured to start gaming. But I guess it's alright, it's a good first approach. Perhaps in the future they will come up with this idea.
