I got here hearing a redux of "All of the Things" and was hooked solely on the music. Not a clue yet what her lyrics are really like but the riffs are class. Maybe late than never. ;)
I'm just some young guy listening to older songs I've heard my parents play. I'm kind of thankful that they play these songs since they're so good. Another White Dash is one of many songs I heard from them 🦋
Actually she played most of the instruments, Drums were played Abe Laboriel, Jr. and Lindsay Jamieson. David Henry played Cello. But I agree with you, she is a very talented woman!
I can never understand why Butterfly or Missy Higgins haven't made it big in the States. They are head and shoulders above many of the other artists who get a lot of radio time here. I've been a fan of both for over a decade. Strangely enough, I learned about them through the television series, "Charmed."
This is a really good song by Butterfly Boucher. I hear this song often! I like "Another White Dash" by Butterfly Boucher. It's a lovely and good song!
i saw her open for Sarah McLachlan in Brisbane back in 2004. She was awesome. She was also in Sarah’s band as her bass player on the same night. A great concert all round.
Great song, I had never heard of it until today, shows how little record companies do to promote good songs and yet shovel shite from X factor etc constantly.
this song is so great. 2020. so gritty to start, and then when it transitions to the chorus, its so satisfying. Just like life! who even knows what a white dash is, lol
Butterfly is a family friend ...another white dash refers to the white dashes in the middle of a bitumen road passing under your car when you are on a road trip.
Another white dash, over and over, is the white lines on a road. It's about endless travelling. Just because you're too thick to understand it doesn't make it meaningless.
She was and always will be uniquely her, extraordinarily talented. Sadly, she got caught up in some sort of weird record contract deal, where she would have had to come up with a huge amount of money to "rescue" her material, she somewhat drifted into obscurity since then. She deserved a far better outcome than that . . . music is a weird business.
10 years later and I'm _still_ wondering why this song wasn't *HUGE*.
+ThePromisedWLAN I hear you. Should have been a smash.
You'll discover… the BEST songs aren't huge… nor are designed to be huge. Think of this gem (like many other songs) as a hidden gem!
Monster record, one of those records that happens every ten years or so. Simply amazing.
Good music isn't allowed to be huge. Only shit music is

Whats really impressive is that Butterfly played ALL the instruments on this album. guitar, drums, everything. A very talented woman.

I got a heart ❤️ full of rubber bands that keep getting stuck on things. Away Away
"something about having everything you think you'll ever need sitting in the seat next to you" Absolute favorite line of the whole song.
Didn't this song come Out in the late 90's or early 2000's. I remember listening to and loving this song, then it disappeared off the radio
Love this song. She opened at a Sarah McLachlan concert I went to.
Got her cd right after her opening set for Sarah McLachlan in the UK. They were both brilliant!
One of the most beautiful women in music. Ever.

She got to be Sarah McLachlan’s bass player. An achievement in itself.
Those harmonies...gives me chills to this day.
If it wasn't for youtube I would never know who the artist was. Screw mainstream music.
Shes a great artist& I wish this dream comes true .. Butterfly spread your wings..
I love this song. Brings back memories of Indie 103.1
This song embodies my love in every way! ❤

Flutterby is the most underrated album ever.

Seeing this band live was so wonderful... she can really tell a story.
I remember this as the 'theme' to that TV show "TRU CALLING"
Incredible.
Something, about having, everything, you think you'll ever need, sitting in the seat next to you...
What a stunning lyric.
2018 & me sigue encantando

She's re-recording and re-releasing Flutterby. Y'all should go check it out!
Heard it on the radio today, I thought this was about doing cocaine
Great song,
I had never heard of it until today, shows how little record companies do to promote good songs and yet shovel shite from X factor etc constantly.
A very romantic song...
hard for it to sink in that it's almost 8 years ago
