Sweet, just what I needed. I just booked flights to GVA this evening, leaving in a week, planning to hit some sick natural Alpine trails in Chamonix. Thanks for stoking my buzz 😀
Helmut cam for sure on sub alpine rides. You need to bucket list South Chilcotin's plane ride in, hike a bike 10km i believe. Nothing to knar, but Stunning views.
Love how Sam took off during the dust scene. Incredible! Obviously you’re a racer and could absolutely bomb anything, but hats off to Sam for BOMBING it!! Sick experience, making a super sick video 🙌💜
Can you imagine how fast Sam could be if he had his bike set up properly? Said he was running 65 psi in his tires in his video, while being chased by a pro downhill rider who's really fast himself. I remember a video where Sam tried to follow Brendan during an urban downhill practice and Brendan just left him behind.
Fantastic footage. I’ve watched all the vids from ‘the crew’ and they’re all different. Wonderful again! You’re editing and commentary is right up there with your big pal Pilgs . HELI MTB, hell yeh! 👌
I did a heli-drop ride at Whistler back in 2004. So otherworldly getting dropped off in snow at the end of July. And the bugs were insane. I believe it was one of the first guided rides (unfortunately, I don't remember the name of the guide company). Looking at the trail maps, it looks like we rode down the Rainbow's End trail. Definitely fun, although there was some misunderstanding about how technical and steep the trail would be. Besides the guides (who were both riding Banshee Scream DH bikes, IIRC), I was the only one of our group with lift served DH experience and riding a Yeti Lawwill DH-6. I had a lot of fun pushing the lead guide down the trail. I felt bad for the sweep guide. I'd love to do that trail again some day.
I almost commented on Sam's video that you folks should go down to Pemberton for a great Heli drop. But it seems you did. My mates and I did one back in '02 but I think it must have been a different mountain? We had about 1000' of shale skree slope and some free ride bits to get down to a big lake for a swim and to find an actual trail. It was the first time that our pilot had ever shuttled bikes to the top.
@@nikounourbakhsh8433 It was on a road trip called The Focus Tour sponsored by Adidas Eyewear and sort of Red Bull (No money, but cases and cases if product.) with my friends from 180 Magazine. We drove from Santa Cruz to Whistler, stopping to ride spots on the way and doing trials demos for schools and community centers. Somehow we got a helicopter pilot to fit us in between fire fighting trips. Like Bren I was on my DH bike, a Santa Cruz Super 8. Good times.
The only way Sam could be less protected is if he was wearing flip-flops. The guy has no self preservation😂 oh I gues it would be more dangerous doing it on a free bike
Trail looks pretty fun, it's built by a well known and respected builder. $495 is freaking steep though, I don't fault them for charging what people will pay. If you have halfway decent fitness I'd just pedal up to Lord of the Squirrels for free.. similar experience, price is a 3 hour climb.
You clearly, after the last 2 years STILL don’t get it? Really? They are all crammed inside a helicopter and I don’t think the pilot who has to do this for a living all year long carrying random strangers who may or may not have covid. Even if the pilot is vaxxed you don’t know if he’s also immunocompromised or if he’s above the age where his risks are higher. I’d rather be NOT sick then be sick and skip work NOT making money. I can’t believe I have to explain this after 2 years of this Covid mess. 🤦🏻♂️
I love that Brendan realizes how lucky he is ... Him and Sam are such a vibe and overall good people. Bucket list stuff for sure!!
You and Sam always vibe so hard 💪 Reminds me of me and the boys riding
This track is so much fun 👍🏻👍🏻🤩🤩

@@bigbird2451 yea i bet that sounds crazy cool, I am gonna be going on so many trips when i get my license in a few months lol
Did that in 2010, looked a bit different back then though. Ended up at lost lake for lunch and beers. Such a cool place.
Haha must of looked way different cause this is a new trailon ipsoot mountain , not rainbow .

Is the Heli drop worth it? Thinking about doing it in the next few weeks

yeah, how dare you wear a kit that doesn't match, unsubscribed
I can't believe you all had to wear masks in the heli. Welcome to Canada where our laws don't make sense... Other than that, great video.
