You are my favorite Cantonese teacher on UA-cam and I’m grateful for the service you provide. I appreciate your way of teaching and explaining everything in a way that I’m able to understand as someone who only spoke English for 40 years. If I could offer one piece of advice just in terms of my perspective and not disrespecting your teaching method, but just what I find important as a super fan of your work: I don’t personally find it necessary to spend as much time explaining the basics as seen in your recent videos. There is a lot of time spent on words and concepts that you explained by video 10, like “I” and “we” and “can and cannot” and “Eat”. As you say, this is video 180 and by now if someone doesn’t know those words, they should go to the beginning. You numbered your videos for a reason (smart!) so why should we spend so much time on slowly re explaining these concepts? For me, I only found the last 2-3 minutes of this video to be useful just because we are now on video 180, plus 20-30 other bonus videos. I know that someone will find your channel For the frost time today and may not know the basics. But maybe that’s more encouragement for them to go back to your beginning. I think you could fit a lot more information in 7 minutes if you didn’t spend as much time explaining words like “we” and “Eat”. Even hungry and thirsty have been covered. With that extra time saved you could have talked about a lot of other related words you’ve never talked about before. Just an opinion. I have nothing but respect for what you do and will continue to watch every day and all the patreon content. Amanda is the best.
Thank you very much for your continuous support 🙏🏻 I appreciate your advice and I will definitely consider that. Since it's already 180, sometimes I might even forget if I have taught certain topic before. Luckily I have you guys who always give me kind reminders. 😊
As a drummer at the end of the concert my stomach growled so loud that the trumpet and pianist who one is from Macau and the other from main land heard it. I said ho tong aa. And now I can pronounce it more correctly. Thank you!!!!! Have a great month! Hero
When we speak fast, tone 6 might sound like tone 3 sometimes. But tone 1 is definitely not the same. When you hear people say tou5 ngo1/o1 肚痾,it means diarrhea. 😅
I love the sound of Cantonese! Nothing is more satisfying than when you say the complete sentences at full speed. 🎶
Thank you very much. 😁
Very useful. This lesson got a lot of use in Macau when I was there in September. Thank you!
Have fun in Macau!😁
Another great lesson, thanks!
Thank you very much 😊

Hi Amanda, the word for hungry, i.e "ngo 6" is tone no. 6, but why do you and Cantonese speakers pronounce like it is "ngo 3" or "ngo 1"?
