A longer t post driver. That’s what I have and it’s never jumped out. And I’ve been using it for 25 years. I’m in Australia and never really seen a short one like that for sale. Gee I bet that hurt. Fantastic video by the way. 😊😊😊
I think your trellis will last 10 years or more. Thanks for the warnings and picture. WOW. That gas powered T Post Driver is the way to go. Thanks for the video. Zone 6b Ct.
After watching you till that ground up, I'm so glad I've gone to raised beds and no till gardening! lol I remember all the work it took each spring to get my garden ready. I almost bought a BCS walk behind tiller after renting one. Those things are beasts! Those trellis' look great. 🌱 🌿
Nothing wrong with making the arch, no matter if others do it. I would be worried once that is grown with vegetation and the winds pushing it over. May be worth running guide wires off the T post for additional support come time for the winds. Thanks for the video
I drove the tall t posts in with a manual by standing on a ladder. Messed up my cervical vertebrae and it still bothers me after 2 years. I tried using the front end loader to push them in, but it bent the post. I should have used the auger attachment for my tractor. It's not easy to hook up but it's better than what I did.
CST Still point inducer should fix your neck in short order. Watch many videos on how to use it. There is an indentation on the skull back of head at about the Height of your ears. Locate it by feel and diagrams of the skull on the internet. Not on the neck. Not on the lower edge of the skull. It feels like an indentation line. One appointment with a Cranial Sacral Therapist and he or she can teach you where and how to use it safely. I just use two tennis balls side by side in a heavy man's sock tied very tight, instead of a CST Still point inducer. Lay yourself on a flat surface like floor with blankets folded to cushion the floor. BTW. Just touching that area on the back of my head is tender.
I made a trellis in front of my front porch. It's 10 feet tall but we'll be able to reach it from the porch. Hopefully it will create a wall of beans and shade for the porch. I have some starting to climb, but I have to replant the Kentucky Wonder beans i planted on 5/21 we have zero germination rate lol.
Love that system Pete. 💚 not sure what kind of wind you get there, but you might consider a straight pole on each end at the top, just for more stability 👍👍
I'm surprised you don't use more tractor. At the highest setting I can dump compost on a row & my three-point reverse-rotation tiller will form a raised-&-perfectly-mixed-row. With 6ft trellis spacing & subcompact tractor might be able to create the raised-row on one side using a narrow offset-tiller.
Seems all the gardeners amend the soil with compost, peat moss, and some even add perlite or vermiculite, in addition to organic fertilizers. What puzzles me is that the farmers where I live can grow beautiful crops of just about anything in tilled up and mounded up red clay soil, with nothing added but lime and salt type NPK fertilizers... and little if any irrigation.
What kind of tiller is that? The one we rented really struggled and it took us all afternoon to do what you did 😫 we do have hard clay if that makes a difference.
I have enough experience with T-Post hammers to know that I don't wanna use em ever again. I'll rent a mini excavator and push em down with the shovel.
Hello Pete, how far east are you from Tyler? We are looking for property 5 acres or more with utility, internet...cities 30 minutes away. Thanks in advance.
I'm much farther southeast from Tyler, but be careful if you buy too close to Tyler now, you might be surrounded by a subdivision in a couple years. Tyler is growing fast.
Hello Pete. Could you give me the dimensions of the structure you've constructed for the Italian super long zucchini. Cucuzza! You were kind enough last Fall to send me some seeds. My husband has volunteered to construct a trellis. Thank you.
I basically used cattle panel there too. It's 16ft long by about 6ft 6inches high, I used 8ft t-posts and drove them in the ground about 1-1/2 ft. I used 1inch emt electrical conduit around the top and cattle panel and wired it together. You can keep the trellis about 3ft apart as long as you can walk under it.
Thanks for that tip about t post drivers - you pry spared me a learning experience like you had!
That picket pounder got you pretty good. Thanks for the safety lesson.
I actually stabbed myself in the eye with a bread tie. All most lost my sight. This happened 3 days ago and I haven't tooken my eye pro off.
Good tip on driving T-posts. Nice that you have his and hers step ladders 🪜.
Thanks 👍🙂

You keep running that tiller your gonna look like a pro body builder again
Morning Pete, you guys did a great job. Good luck with the pole beans.
Thanks 👍

Yep those BCS tillers are nice but expensive 🙁
Looking really good Pete. You do great work.

hanks Pete!!! I always like watching your channel because you have such practical solutions to common problems your lesson very useful for farmers
Thank you Pete! Again very informative! I think I'm going to get my husband to watch this one too. We don't need any trips to the hospital. Ouch!
Wow Pete, what a nice trellis!
I can t wait to see the result, how the beans will grow in texas soil .Good luck :) Emilia
Thank you for the seeds 🙂

Love watching that tilling-machine in action. So gotta find and buy one for my spare block I am using for our huge garden.
... and now I like those trellis's so much that I am going to rebuild my tomato plantation!
@@stephentrepreneur awesome 👍
Try Kentucky wander pole beans. Absolute best.
Thanks, I'll check them out 👍
I put up a feed lot for my sister & used an eight pound hammer, but I would buy the auto/ gas one f I had to do to now.
Nice set up.
That's a good idea I plan on possibly growing loofhas on something like this.
good video... I enjoyed it.
Keep an eye on the weather Pete they are calling for another freeze Thursday thru Sunday.
Love your videos. John S.
Thank you, I have been watching it and I'll wait until next weekend to plant my tomatoes, eggplants and peppers.
I'm sure glad I don't have too work that hard with my tiller. I'd have quit gardening if I had to do that.

Good video enjoyed it thanks for sharing Be safe God Bless
Thank you and God bless.
How did the beans turn out? Would you do this method again? I'm determining how I want to trellis my pole beans this coming Spring. Thanks.
They grew on the trellis really well.

looks fantastic!
You shocked the mess out of me when you showed the pic of your head wound.😳

I didn't have the room to maneuver the tractor there.
Wow you have amazing soil 😱 I live in Florida so we have sand 😂 nothing that dark just with tilling

I'm a newby to all things gardening. What are you attaching the cattle panels to the T poles with?
I used14 gauge galvanized fence wire you can pick up at tractor supply.
Nice music Pete!
what length T posts are those and where can I find them? At home depot the tallest they had is 7 foot. Thanks!
We've been looking around Long View, what do you think of this city?
I wish I could tell you but I've never been there.
What kind of tiller is that? The one we rented really struggled and it took us all afternoon to do what you did 😫 we do have hard clay if that makes a difference.
It's the cub cadet tiller rt 65. I think I paid $800 for it 5 years ago new.
OHHHHHHH! So I’m not the only one busting herself up in the garden?
I have enough experience with T-Post hammers to know that I don't wanna use em ever again. I'll rent a mini excavator and push em down with the shovel.
What did you use to attach the panels to the T-posts?
14 guage galvanized wire.
Looks good! Where did you find 10ft T post?
Home depot has them
@@petebeasttexashomesteading Thank you!

@@petebeasttexashomesteading Thanks for your help.
Cattle panels here in Canada were $100 when I priced them last year. Needless to say, I chose another method.
Wow, that's insane, too expensive.
Nice job!! Why be normal 🤣
👍
same idea bedding plot to grow Bitter gourd, and more nutritious foor you......
You'll be sorry you left the rebar stubs on...you'll be picking around them....my hands just ake thinking about it.
First
Ridiculous
Too drawn out video . Watching one tilled row and already having the other 3 rows already done is sufficient
