    Kimberly, I've seen tons of videos and yours was, hands down, one of the ABSOLUTE BEST training/explaining videos EVER!!! The property/gardens are beautiful. Thanks so much for sharing. God bless you and prosper you and your family. The videography was great (lovely shots with more than a nanosecond to look), the audio was great (a MAJOR problem in lots of videos by others in general), your rate of speaking wasn't TOO FAST, the animals were enjoyable to see, etc. Wonderful...just wonderful!!!

      Oh wow!! THANK YOU!! That means a lot… Iv definitely put a lot of research and man hours into all this but it’s something that I just absolutely love. Gardening, photography and videography are something I halve just fell in love with and so it just made sense that they all go hand in hand and came together so great in this video. I have SO MUCH more material I just need to get the time to get it all up!💛

      @@woodspirit98 Thank you for your feedback! The 2 minutes of music at the beginning was intended as an introduction to who we are and what we’re about. I understand that not everyone may want to watch that part, so I’ve added timestamps to make it easier for viewers to skip to any portion of the video they’re interested in. This way, you can easily fast forward to the sections that matter most to you. Thanks again for watching!

    This was such a fantastic detail-oriented video. Thank you so much for sharing. I can’t believe people were seriously worried about concussions! What happened to common sense?!?! Too funny! I also find it funny that people worry about snakes and spiders in the tunnels. I WANT snakes and spiders!! They eat the pests that eat my crops so I can stay as organic as possible. I need some chickens though! We are having trouble with spotted lantern flies and I heard chickens and catbirds love them! I have seen the catbirds eating them but mostly they eat my raspberries, blueberries, goji berries and hardy kiwi.

    I used pvc pipe at both ends at the arch and zip tied. I felt like the cattle panels were too unstable to withstand the strong winds that come through. It helps to hold its shape year round. Great video:)

    • @madeinussr7551
      @madeinussr7551 10 місяців тому +1

      The fix to that is pinching the cattle fence on the top, giving it a pointy top. That helps with winds and gusts. We ve done it for years and never had a problem and were advised by a guy who had wind problem lol .

    • @minimeadows9641
      @minimeadows9641  10 місяців тому +1

      There’s an idea! Thank you! We live on top of a hill and don’t have many trees around the house/ garden area to break the wind, so I just tried to make sure that I wired the arch as secure as I could along with making positive that I used enough T-posts and they were solid in the ground. Also making sure that I wired the arch really good to the t-posts. Wind was definitely a major concern when I first started. But, so far so good. 🤞🏽🤞🏽

    • @pacman1792
      @pacman1792 10 місяців тому

      Nah... I can literally do pull ups on my archways without them budging & I'm over 225 lbs.
      Just fold them into an arch between well set 6ft. solid steel T-post pounded into the ground 3ft. (with the post on the outside of the cattle fence).
      Secure them to the post with some decent gauge wire & there not going anywhere😂

    I can't say Thank You enough. We just bought a new house. I've been doing raised beds at the house we've rented for the past 10 years. Been planning the new garden, I am definitely adding some of these vertical beds. I raise rabbits and quail. My rabbit manure goes directly into the garden year-round. Every fall after harvest the past years quail poo gets added to the beds. Oh, Marigolds are wonderful pest control. Thanks again. RonInIowa.

    Wow, that was the most educational and well put together video I’ve ever seen on here! You covered 99.9%. I loved seeing how you put it all together.
    🚨 1)Does it grow from end of vine or do you have to keep untying and retying?
    2)The only thing you didn’t mention is how much/ long to water?
    Thank you so much for all your time n effort 🙏 I’m starting with pole beans… red noodle

      @minimeadows9641  11 місяців тому +5

      Hey Maggie! Thank you so much! I absolutely appreciate the positive feedback and that is a great question! So the answer to the first as far as do I need to keep fastening and unfastening the ties, the answer is no. The vines do branch off and create new vines but I just work them in with all the rest. As far as how long to water, I water the beds until they are about 1/2 way full of standing water and then move to the next one. The water will soak into the bed in just a few minutes time. If you have any other questions feel free to ask away!💛

    Great video! I think you covered everything possible and did a excellent job explaining. Your tunnels look gorgeous as well as your farm! I grew bottle gourds on my tunnels several years ago and it was amazing and so magical walking underneath the tunnels. It also makes the harvesting easier cutting the gourds hanging! I laid cardboard underneath the tunnels to keep the grass n weeds from growing under. I found your have to help them along at first and some through out to space out the vine to cover it evenly. Lol Wish I could send you some pictures. I love to make birdhouses with them, let them dry out really good until you can hear the seeds shaking around inside and then scrub them clean soaking in a big bucket of dawn soapy water solution. Let dry and drill q hole in them with a hole saw. We like paint them and hang them around in the trees!

    I remember my father as a child would make A framed out of 2x2s and put hinges on the top. In between he would nail 1x1s. Not treated wood but would last for years. At the end of the season just fold them up and store. He would plant lettuce and the cooler crops underneath it. I believe these were 8 to 10 ft long. We had a small growing area but had an abundance of crops.

I made it how “I” would want it to be if “I” were searching and looking for everything I needed to know about how to start a vertical garden. Usually you have to watch 10 videos, read 4 book, 5 online articles and search Pinterest and Facebook for inspiration and small details you couldn’t find. SO I figured I’d try and do the best I could to fit it all in ONE video! I’m looking forward to putting out more!💛

    This was an interesting video. You provided a lot of great tips and visual references. I'm a older gardener and I have a bad back, so pulling weeds or excessive kneeling is out of the question. Of watched quite a few videos on vertical gardening and you've done the best job.💯 Thanks for sharing this! 💯 ❣️

    I have used pressure treated wood for gardening for 30 years and at 77 it hasn't killed me yet. Even though most gardeners advise against using PT wood, I have always thought that was overblown. No PT wood, but go ahead and use manufactured fertilizer and insecticides and wood for mulching and not knowing what the type of wood the mulch is. This is certainly not a critique, but just another way of doing the job. You produce excellent videos. Keep it up.

      Hello fellow Oklahoman!👋🏽 First of all, flat ground is better than rocky or supper sloped ground! You’ve got this! If there’s a will, there’s a way! We live on top of a hill with a TON of SUPER high winds and I was VERY hesitant about being able to grow this way BUT I still gave it a shot and Im SO glad I did!! You’ll never know unless you try! Good luck my friend! My advice is just GO FOR IT!! Try it ALL and see what does BEST!! lol💛
