I thought five rainbow magician was to hit lab a little. Thats the only deck i saw it in and i saw it in there way before superheavy got support as well
I think they are going to release rescue ace and purrely support in the next pack, so they didn't hit wanted/snake eye cards and put pretty to 3 so that those sets will sell well I think. At the same time these 2 decks should have a spot in the meta to keep pure snake in check (at least I hope so)
I think this is one of the good banlist, For the context: Lab is currently and argueably the best deck of the format tie with Snake Eye, it dominating tournament in the past 2 weeks while Snake Eye is barely won or tops because many people already know how to beat it In DC top 100 as now: There is 22 Snake Eye all play Kashtira package and there is 16 Labrynth (13Nadir) So while they cant hit Snake because it still in the shop it make sense to hit Unicorn because it so annoying in ladder when you always has to wonder its Kash Snake Eye or pure Kash and has to use your HT to Unicorn or not.. But i dont think Birth need back at 2 For Lab, they already got hit with both Furniture at 2, and they doesnt want to hit even more bc we need Lab to slowdown Snake Eye for becoming sole tier 1. So hitting the problematic card like Five Rainbow is great especially in Bo1 where many people main deck it for ladder not just to counter SHS Nadir Servant got hit because 13/16 top DC Lab play it.. So it hit both Lab and Branded as the 3rd best deck.. But the main reason is becauss people abusing it to send Kitkalos to mill Rollback Then we have SHS as the 4th best deck in Bo1 format when people stop play Droll.. So hitting this deck is nescessary bc many people will just surrender bc not bringing Droll and veiler/impern doesnt do anything
"they cant ban it while it is in the shop" nah, they can ban it. they just dont wanna lose money. so i for one dont think this banlist is good at at all, since its not based on actual issues but just how can they hit snake eyes or lab players without really hitting them so they wont lose money with future arias pack or current pack in shop. ugly behavior from large company as per usual. also "snake eye barely won or tops because many people already know how to beat it in dc top 100" so basically what you're saying is that snake eyes is in a balanced state because the top 0,1% of players can figure out how beat it or 99,9% cant play it properly?
This is why players make their own banlists and formats that are actually REASONABLE and possibly fun to play in which mostly involves playing in fanmade sims like Duelingbook, EDO Pro, YGO Omega, Dueling Nexus, etc.
To me it seems like they just run some basic statistical analysis of what cards have a very high win ratio, but remove from the analysis the stuff that is still in the shop, the end result is that the banlist looks and feels like it's out of touch. Maybe they will give a second part that is more exciting to react to but not necessarily impactful, like when they randomly released all the dragon rulers and Zoodiac.
Unicorn is a hit to splashing, and because Konami knows that and didn’t want to nerf pure kash, they gave a birth back, a card only pure kash would play at max copies
Historically speaking, Konami doesn't hit cards that are still available in a selection pack in Master Duel, but I thought they could at least ban one for one.
lab is not in any shop for months, is constantly up there in top 2-3 decks winning tournaments, every month has more support cards but nothing gets hits and you lot expect them to hit cards that are still in the shop?
What amazes me is why is Hot King Calamity still legal! You want to hit Superheavy? Hit Calamity. Go on Masterduel meta and look at the top 100 decks and I found most of them were playing calamity. When you view the card, the recent 10 decks that played it are all super heavy. Its a really unfun to play against card stopping interaction. It's old and if you still want to use crimson dragon, then play blazer as at least I can then dark ruler or droplet. Its banned in the ocg and they probably don't want to do it here because it's a UR and red dragon archfiends are in the packs even though I have never seen them try to do it turn 1.
I hope that my opponent plays calamity when I versus SHS. They lose so much board presence that an Xyz into Downerd into Zeus is a guaranteed win. Haven't lost a game versus it yet, whereas the normal is much harder.
Some Lab, Branded and Stun versions run Nadir Servant and Five Rainbow Magician, so hitting those cards is in certain way a hit to all of them. Still a very dissapointinf banlist.
I play pure Kash and I hate what they've done to Kash, the consistency for pure decks is really not great, they are banned for being good in other decks it seems, but Kash is a antyi-meta deck at the moment, and the reason I love to play it. Even Tear wasnt hit this much in relation to consistency.
Why are we pretending the nadir hit was weird? It's a very good card and an easy +3. Sure, semi limiting it is not super helpful but it's not an odd card to hit.
Nadir is a good card but if you have a problem with the decks using nadir such as like stun there are better ways to go about hitting them. Nadir is not the thing making these decks good. Go hit branded, go hit lab, go hit stun cards. Dont hit nadir.
I don't agree with your assessment of unicorn at all dude like how are you ok with a card that is basically a boss monster itself to some decks. The fact that it has no requirement to summon other than seeing it in hand means we have less outs, to be able to look at your opponent's extra and select a card to banish face down is op, its a one summon win against salamangreats because eventually you'll have to activate something and if you choose not to interact you basically lose going second. I know cards like alba zoa are out there but at least it has steps to interact with and doesn't completely throw cards out of game. Dealing with unicorn while playing with a salamangreat deck leaves you two options either you draw the out or restrict your extra deck space even further by playing three copies of needed extra deck monsters and at that point why play the deck if you cant add your own flair to it. Kashtira unicorn is just too much, easy to search easy to summon extremely splashable and too much of a counter to extra deck Reliant decks. I have no problems with the rest of the kashtira cards but having my opponent banish two sunlights wolfs or other combo needed cards before I ever even had a chance made me very salty😅 get rid of it or limit it.🤕 I stopped playing salaman and made ghoti my main since almost every netdecking duelist and their dogs are playing the same top 3 decks.🙄
But they're in no way the better versions of those decks, nor is it the problem card. It's literally just a hit, to say they hit the deck. It's nothing
@@TheJamieellis It is a consistency thing (mainly for stun): send garura alone is already draw 1+search. I feel like a lot of the recent MD banlists have been trying in every way to make Branded weaker without going for the nuclear option of banning Branded Fusion. Be it with Nadir, Opening, Saronir etc
Nadir's Servant and Five-Rainbow Magicians hits are Konami addressing Stun more than anything else. The rest of the changes outside the Unlimits are a nothingburger and I hate seeing how weak-killed they are with making substantial hits
It hasn't been that long since they did a strong banlist. We also get hits much more often
@@tripleaaabattery8480
The only meaningful hits I've seen after the last good round of hits were all directed towards Stun Decks. It's good that they're hitting Stun, but this was a very lazy list when it should've been a bigger list considering how big lists tend to happen in response to Duelist Cup results
@@zerochill4096 to be honest. they wouldnt hit a deck hard so early, we know snake eyes will get hit though, thats a matter of time
@@zerochill4096 that big banlist with hits directed at Dragon link (wyverburster, chaos ruler) wasn't that long ago. That was announced on December 28th and went live in January. There's basiclly only been 3 monthly banlists since then including this one. It just feels like it's been a long time since a big list because SHS and then Snake eyes came out right after and they haven't really been touched
Adir was hit because Lab was using it to send Kitkallos to mill lol
Up there with king of the swamp to 3
Josh broke the first law.
Any day now, we will get TCG list
2:24 This sums up the entire ban list.
Snake-Eye will not get hit, until it move out the pack, I mean until they are on promo pack, they will not touch the inarchetype cards, same happened with Tearlaments
One of the banlists of all time
That's bad
It feels just like an early April fools...
I thought five rainbow magician was to hit lab a little. Thats the only deck i saw it in and i saw it in there way before superheavy got support as well
Still waiting for my Visas Samsara and the other Visas cards. Also the Epurrely Noir
wagon malong scales
I think they are going to release rescue ace and purrely support in the next pack, so they didn't hit wanted/snake eye cards and put pretty to 3 so that those sets will sell well I think. At the same time these 2 decks should have a spot in the meta to keep pure snake in check (at least I hope so)
Dkayed has already said No Purrely and No Rescue Ace in the next pack. I hope he is wrong this time.
@@armandonoriega681 would be lame, I hope at least there is something cool there
i think that in two weeks or so there s gonna be another banlist, once the snake eyes pack expires
I think this is one of the good banlist,
For the context:
Lab is currently and argueably the best deck of the format tie with Snake Eye, it dominating tournament in the past 2 weeks while Snake Eye is barely won or tops because many people already know how to beat it
In DC top 100 as now:
There is 22 Snake Eye all play Kashtira package and there is 16 Labrynth (13Nadir)
So while they cant hit Snake because it still in the shop it make sense to hit Unicorn because it so annoying in ladder when you always has to wonder its Kash Snake Eye or pure Kash and has to use your HT to Unicorn or not.. But i dont think Birth need back at 2
For Lab, they already got hit with both Furniture at 2, and they doesnt want to hit even more bc we need Lab to slowdown Snake Eye for becoming sole tier 1. So hitting the problematic card like Five Rainbow is great especially in Bo1 where many people main deck it for ladder not just to counter SHS
Nadir Servant got hit because 13/16 top DC Lab play it.. So it hit both Lab and Branded as the 3rd best deck..
But the main reason is becauss people abusing it to send Kitkalos to mill Rollback
Then we have SHS as the 4th best deck in Bo1 format when people stop play Droll.. So hitting this deck is nescessary bc many people will just surrender bc not bringing Droll and veiler/impern doesnt do anything
halfway agree. they can hit snake eyes. ban princess, ban formular. if they want they can hit it. but they wont cashcow
Even though some of the hits could be right, the list is still disappointing because it really won't change anything, just like Josh said.
Why this is a banlist if nothing is banned
this banlist would have been great on april 1st because it's a complete joke.
Save us, TCG
Ritual Dogmatika was clearly a problem and not Snake Eyes.
I not complaining about angond knight in my orcust
This is why players make their own banlists and formats that are actually REASONABLE and possibly fun to play in which mostly involves playing in fanmade sims like Duelingbook, EDO Pro, YGO Omega, Dueling Nexus, etc.
Tbh surprised they hit Superheavy considering it was only meta for like half a month before poplar came super early
Then hes over here complaining that shs didnt get murdered 😂
Nadir is used in branded 60 card piles, not a reason to hit it but eh it's Konami
With all these band aid hits they may as well put out a list every other week.
They hit branded every other list though
Isn't the superheavy deck completely unplayable if you ban the link-1?
It's still playable but isn't degenerate anymore
as a deck is dead, but still works as an engine to get a rank 4 or a synchro 8/10 before your normal summon.
@@TheCardTrooperotherwise known as unplayable in the meta
They hit stun card every single time but no hit for tier 1 deck tho 😂
"they are not hitting Branded" what did branded do for Josh to want it to get hit again? Exist? Im more confused on the lack of Mathmech hits
Branded is still one of the strongest Decks in the format, but Mathmech being absent here is sus too
This actually makes the OCG list look based af.
I like it when all decks are viable. A good ban list is prevent other decks from being too oppressive
Every time i think they cant make a worse list than the last, they exceed my expectations.
I mean Rainbow is a stun card.
ib unban where bro tct and ocg have her and she does basically nothing
To me it seems like they just run some basic statistical analysis of what cards have a very high win ratio, but remove from the analysis the stuff that is still in the shop, the end result is that the banlist looks and feels like it's out of touch. Maybe they will give a second part that is more exciting to react to but not necessarily impactful, like when they randomly released all the dragon rulers and Zoodiac.
I am willing for that *copium*
Nadir Servant was limited by stun cancer decks
ban arise heart and birth can go to 3...
Why are you mad that an annoying floodgate gets hit.
Unicorn is a hit to splashing, and because Konami knows that and didn’t want to nerf pure kash, they gave a birth back, a card only pure kash would play at max copies
Funny because pure Kash is unplayable because they have basically everything hit. Ocg philosophy is dog shit to be fair
@@cuttlefish6839 it’s far from unplayable. Correctly built it has a combo rate of 85% rn, at the cost of non engine space
Historically speaking, Konami doesn't hit cards that are still available in a selection pack in Master Duel, but I thought they could at least ban one for one.
One for One is not the problem card in Snake-Eye Kash. Tasuku who got 2nd place in Duelist Cup didn't even run it.
@@reshiramo I know it's not a problem card, but it's the only card that makes sense to hit that didn't come from the new pack.
Nobody: These pure dogmatika decks are out of control we need to do something.
Konami: Nadir Servant to 2.
lab is not in any shop for months, is constantly up there in top 2-3 decks winning tournaments, every month has more support cards but nothing gets hits and you lot expect them to hit cards that are still in the shop?
Me who uses Nadir in Mikanko...
April fools is early this year.....
Centurion duh
I hope that my opponent plays calamity when I versus SHS. They lose so much board presence that an Xyz into Downerd into Zeus is a guaranteed win. Haven't lost a game versus it yet, whereas the normal is much harder.
Some Lab, Branded and Stun versions run Nadir Servant and Five Rainbow Magician, so hitting those cards is in certain way a hit to all of them. Still a very dissapointinf banlist.
Superheavy samurai lost 3% consistency
nadir servant is played in stun... that's where it's problematic :) same with 5 rainbow
I play pure Kash and I hate what they've done to Kash, the consistency for pure decks is really not great, they are banned for being good in other decks it seems, but Kash is a antyi-meta deck at the moment, and the reason I love to play it. Even Tear wasnt hit this much in relation to consistency.
boohoo poor kashtira Players :(
Vagen? Where are your papers?
They really just needed to ban Linkuriboh if they don't won't touch Snake Eye directly. Rainbow Magician can die in a ditch.
Why are we pretending the nadir hit was weird? It's a very good card and an easy +3. Sure, semi limiting it is not super helpful but it's not an odd card to hit.
Because Snake eyes is dominating everything and is untouched yet they try to crush branded every single ban list
By this metric Snake Rain and W Nebula Meteorite should be banned.
Nadir is a good card but if you have a problem with the decks using nadir such as like stun there are better ways to go about hitting them. Nadir is not the thing making these decks good. Go hit branded, go hit lab, go hit stun cards. Dont hit nadir.
@alpepps snake eyes is still in the shop. They're not gonna hit something they're still trying to sell
@@AlexanderLupo Selection pack cards don't get hit, that's something we already know.
I genuinely feel this was supposed to be the previous banlist before duelist cup when Snake eye was freshly new
I don't agree with your assessment of unicorn at all dude like how are you ok with a card that is basically a boss monster itself to some decks.
Lab+Branded+stun use Nadir's servant, recently a bit less. But is definitely warranted.
Same reasoning: DC-cup all most of the top 100 lab decks were using multiple copies of 5-rainbow. This is a significant floodgate.
No
But they're in no way the better versions of those decks, nor is it the problem card. It's literally just a hit, to say they hit the deck. It's nothing
@@TheJamieellis It is a consistency thing (mainly for stun): send garura alone is already draw 1+search. For branded it is about 50/50 which version is better (as it is draw 1, search maximus, free special summon send albion+titaniclad for endphase quem free ss and spelltrap set from deck. But in a meta with tear+lab; this version naturally gets worse). In Lab: 13 out of the 17 known top 100 DC-cup Lab players ran 3 Nadir's servant.
@@lmr4403 But Servant isn't the problem card in those decks. At all. They're just hitting this because they don't want to hit an actual archetypal card
i think snakeeye will be hit next update
glad rainbow magician got limited. the less floodgates this game has, the better.
did they just hit dogmatika for 0 reason or am i tripping
Clueless surely we will get fountain back to two soon
even if they though about it, i see so many people crying about runick being unfair in the reddit so i dont think theyll do it
@@aquaenjoyer1612Even Joshua admit the banishing part of Runick is toxic.
@@aquaenjoyer1612 If they cared about reddit's opinion, floodgate would not exist and maxx c would have been banned day 2 after release
@@aquaenjoyer1612Tbf the fact that every card banishes cards from your deck for free is the most stupid stuff ever. If this wasn't on the card it wouldn't be as frustrating to play against.
@@LS-qs9ju fr? i think its the least impactful things about the cards tbh
from what i've seen, ocg side like this ban list more but tcg side hate it more
Tbf the OCG is familiar with lists like this, just look at the recent OCG list lol
Just put Snake Eyes Ash to 1 and Flamberge to 2. FFS hit something
Its konami banlist ofc
For snake eyes they could just hit formula synchron
And branded suffered enough
Just dont hit my lab pls
the branch/ indie company that is MD does not know why scarecrow got banned in the first place 😂😂😂😂
BAN LAB FIX RUNICK
