I have to admit I didn't know this song before 50/50. My mom had cancer and she beat it, I'm so proud of her. She was given two weeks to live but the chemo suddenly started to work, and now she's cancer free. I feel so selfish, I wanted to take my own life when my mom was fighting for hers. I cry whenever I hear this song.. it's so beautiful. My heart is with everyone who's hurting. Just remember, even though it's foggy, sunshine is right on the other side trying to break through to you.

2 decades later and this is still one of the best albums I have ever listened to. It was the soundtrack to my late teens. Whilst I understood and loved Yorke's lyricism all along, what I didnt know back then is... The Bends is an illness that arises from the rapid release of nitrogen gas from the bloodstream and is caused by bubbles forming in the blood and other tissues when a diver ascends to the surface of the ocean too rapidly. It is also referred to as Caisson sickness, decompression sickness (DCS), and Divers' Disease.
I love the songs by Radiohead where the music isn't so overpowering. This song does that well. The music doesn't have to be so crazy and layered and loud you know. I just want a simple tune and be able to hear his voice, to be able to hear the damn lyrics. That's what I like about this song.
There´s still some music like that, i can reccomend Sasha Sloan and 4ever Falling as 2 artists who make this kind of chill music if you want some good lyrics
After i found out what this song is about it totally changed it for me. It makes me incredibly sad now. All i can think about is some poor teenage boy, paralyzed from the chest down who constantly ruminates on everything he's lost and can't stand to see himself in the mirror anymore, screaming out that he wants another chance while simultaneously knowing there won't be one. I really can't listen to this beautiful song without getting sad now, like real sad.

The main reason to end the relationship was that I was still having family and drug related issues, and she was tired. She knew I was in the worst moment of my life, and still go. So here I am today, its been more than one year, and I still cant talk to women, or rather I just dont want. I cant get her of my mind, even if I know that I improved a lot on this time. It just hurt me a lot to listen to this song. I feel like the chorus is talking about my life, the sadness inside of me. When I read the chorus I literally started crying, saying out loud that this was just too much. My writen english is not the best, but I wanted to share here with all of you how I just felt. He can see the bigger picture of this world and whenever he tries to express it, they hate him for who he is. He feels very lonely and unloved that's why he stops being authentic and pretends to be someone who he is not. His authenticity is the best thing that ever happened to him and to seek love in this world he's lost it.
