Im waiting for the bus. Im in the exact bus stop where my girlfriend broke up with me, October 2022. She told me to bring his bike helmet, telling me that she was gonna bring my bass guitar. I didnt know at that time, but she was going to fade away from my life, and she wanted us both to bring back the things we had from the other one. I remember how she kissed me, and then asked my: Why do you think ive told you to bring my things? We talked for some minutes. The main reason to end the relationship was that I was still having family and drug related issues, and she was tired. She knew I was in the worst moment of my life, and still go. She told we couldnt be together, at least in the short time, leaving, in my head, a small window on uncertainty. So here I am today, its been more than one year, and I still cant talk to women, or rather I just dont want. I cant get her of my mind, even if I know that I improved a lot on this time. It just hurt me a lot to listen to this song. I feel like the chorus is talking about my life, the sadness inside of me. Dont leave me high Dont leave dry Its like the song was talking about my adicction, she leave me high, and she also leave my dry on the inside. When I read the chorus I literally started crying, saying out loud that this was just too much. My writen english is not the best, but I wanted to share here with all of you how I just felt. Have a good life, enjoy everyday, love your family, friends, and everyone that deserves your love, and dont forget to keep going, even if its hard, too hard, sometimes... Whilst I understood and loved Yorke's lyricism all along, what I didnt know back then is... The Bends is an illness that arises from the rapid release of nitrogen gas from the bloodstream and is caused by bubbles forming in the blood and other tissues when a diver ascends to the surface of the ocean too rapidly. It is also referred to as Caisson sickness, decompression sickness (DCS), and Divers' Disease.

My interpretation of the song is that he feels like a misfit in this world, yet very authentic. To fit in he has become a chameleon and broken mirrors to pretend like others. He can see the bigger picture of this world and whenever he tries to express it, they hate him for who he is. He feels very lonely and unloved that's why he stops being authentic and pretends to be someone who he is not. His authenticity is the best thing that ever happened to him and to seek love in this world he's lost it.
