00:02 that’s my brother at the end on the right hand side. He was very proud to do this and told me he was about to break out in tears because it was very moving :(
We thank him, I am sure this will forever be Engraved in his heart! What a Great Queen she was , no one will ever be as Great as she was! RIP beloved Queen!! ❤️
I'm back yet again to rewatch this. Out of all the moments prior to the march up The Long Walk at Windsor, THIS moment was the most moving for me. Honestly, though I'm not "religious", per se...this rings in my head. One of the most powerful pieces of video ever filmed in my opinion.
Perhaps time to be religious, per se? But I do not like the term myself. I would rather say "love and wish to serve Father, Son and Holy Spirit". The various rituals linked to that are more or less important.
When I saw them walking QE2 into the Hall and then this canticle broke out I was transfixed! Took me back to 9th grade religion class and Fr. Hickerson pointing out that Psalms was a collection of poetry... RIP from eastern suburbs of L.A., Calif
My brother is carrying the coffin on the right hand side at the end. He said it was such a beautiful moment that he was about to cry. RIP in your Majesty! Long live Britain and the new King
As a French person, I found this part of the funeral to be the emotional pinnacle of the entire event. The profound sadness was expressed in such a beautiful way, if I may say. The beginning of the ceremony, with the harmonious sound of the perfect voices and the echo in the church, created a majestic and grand atmosphere befitting such a ceremony. This experience felt truly worthy of a queen! The emotional impact it has on people is simply amazing, and I regularly return to listen to it. Well done-tradition is unbeatable. In these uncertain times, do not abandon tradition or let "woke" and other degenerate ideologies overshadow it. From France I say sing it loud and clear Rule Britannia!
Thank you. I can't help myself, out of curiosity: are you related to the House of Montagu (part of your pseudonym)? It's a well-known Anglo-Norman aristocratic family now connected to the Earl of Sandwich. I assume you know that the name comes from the French "Mont Aigu," meaning 'sharp mountain.' There's a great history and tradition there as well. Regards from across the channel!
@JULIENSELLIER I am, but our branch came to England before the Norman conquest and settled originally at a place in Somerset now called Montacute. It's not a pseudonym at all, just a reduced amount of name. Montagu Douglas Scott is a bit too much name really.
The very voices of the angels themselves surely spoke through this wonderful choir - the emotion conveyed in this beautiful psalm held us ,the listeners at home and the people in the hall completely spellbound - our wonderful Queen must have closed her eyes listening to this and smiled .
O LORD, thou hast searched me out, and known me Thou knowest my down-sitting, and mine up-rising Thou understandest my thoughts long before Thou art about my path, and about my bed and spiest out all my ways For lo, there is not a word in my tongue but thou, O Lord, knowest it altogether Thou hast fashioned me behind and before and laid thine hand upon me Such knowledge is too wonderful and excellent for me I cannot attain unto it Whither shall I go then from thy Spirit or whither shall I go then from thy presence? If I climb up into heaven, thou art there if I go down to hell, thou art there also If I take the wings of the morning and remain in the uttermost parts of the sea even there also shall thy hand lead me and thy right hand shall hold me If I say, peradventure the darkness shall cover me then shall my night be turned to day Yea, the darkness is no darkness with thee, but the night is as clear as the day the darkness and light to thee are both alike For my reins are thine thou hast covered me in my mother's womb I will give thanks unto thee, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made marvellous are thy works, and that my soul knoweth right well My bones are not hid from thee though I be made secretly, and fashionably beneath in the earth Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect and in thy book were all my members written which day by day were fashioned when as yet there was none of them How dear are thy counsels unto me, O God O how great is the sum of them! If I tell them, they are more in number than the sand when I wake up I am present with thee Try me, O God, and seek the ground of my heart prove me, and examine my thoughts Look well if there be any way of wickedness in me and lead me in the way everlasting GLORY be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end Amen

This new version was a great and meaningful last bequest to us all from Her Late Majesty. It is marvellous and wondrous and indeed moves us to the core. Cleanses and heals too, if we let it. Not bad for Old Testament. But, by the way, the scene above that we see - as mediated by the Holy Spirit - is as close to perfection as this world can produce. That magnifies the power of the psalm; perhaps giving it something it has never had before... So much needed in the diabolical 2020s; and part of the reason for the Queen to be taken when she was...
May this be a teaching to all Royalty, that there is one higher than you, yes the Most High YAH, don't let your wealth and opulence hinder you from salvation through Yahshua/Jesus. RIP
The UK is, by law, a Christian monarchy. Our national anthem is GOD save the king. The king pledged himself to be the servant of his people. What more proof do you want?
You'd be doing better if you addressed your comments to your own money-greedy US celeb culture where a person's 'worth' is assessed in how many dollars they have in the bank.
@@nickgallagher536 You’re quite right that the BCP is the place to find it, but the translation by Miles Coverdale actually dates beck to 1535 and it was the version adopted by the original Book of Common Prayer of 1549. The King James Bible (published 1611) translation of the Psalms - fine as it is - did not supplant Coverdale’s version in the final edition of the Prayer Book (1662), and with good reason, as regardless of any religion, denomination, or anything else, Coverdale’s translation (and the BCP as a whole) remain one of the greatest repositories of the English language bar none.
Guten Tag, weiß jemand, ob die Melodie von James O'Donnell selbst geschrieben wurde oder auf Grundlage einer, und wenn ja, welcher Bearbeitung, entstanden ist? Vielen Dank Good day, does maybe anyone know if this melody was written by James O'Donnel himself or if it was written as an arrangement, and if yes, which one, of another piece? thank you very much
Possibly one of the most beautiful renditions of this lovely Psalm you'll ever hear. It sings to your soul.
Goes straight into your heart, regardless of your faith or non-faith.
