Very Beach Boys oriented and brilliant. They even did their Beach Boy thing again with their "Over the Summer." No parody just two songs that respect another genre & Sparks (an American band) delivers with excellence. Would really have been nice if the Beach Boys covered any one of those songs. Sparks baffles me. They've existed since 1970 and they still perform & record -- with few major hits in the United States. The Rolling Stones & Status Quo must be looking over their shoulders.
I woke up with this in my head this morning. Couldn't figure out who the hell it was by. From the chorus melody I decided it must have been Boston or Foreigner some other late 70's / early 80's AOR band. I was wrong. It was REO Speedwagon. But I keep on loving Sparks.
@@ABCDEF-le7zq Ron's always smashing up chairs. As in the movie 'Roller-coaster' or as in various concert performances. He's just a rebel sometimes. Bless him. This was from 44 years ago & much younger then, he's mellowed a bit now but they're still going strong!
@@rsmith7912 : thank you very much for your taking time explaining this detail. For sure this was a log time ago (and I was myself a kid). However, as a European fan of this band, do I find it normal that their "behaviour" style, their music style "sound" more European than American? I would have never thought they are American at all:English or Dutch, but American... Thank You.
Why are Sparks not that popular ? they are so much more talented than the crap in the charts today.
Cos a lot of people don't have good taste in music.
Cos they're too good. Truly brilliant and/or original songwriters/performers making the charts has always been a rarity

Big fan of Ron just hauling off and doing something insane. From calm to unhinged in four seconds.
yes, enjoyed his big surprise!
@@angellacanfora or maybe he didnt get his big surprise 🤨 more scary (but aware) masculinity from the maels :)
Trop super, j'adore la façon dont les Sparks mettent en scène leur chanson... Ron est tout simplement génial...
Russell had had an earring? Best performance from the `70s.
Nice moves, Russell!
I don't think he ever aimed to be Michael Jackson... 🤣🤣🤣
Brilliant as always the coolest guys in music today

How to annoy your big brother lesson 1...
Sitting on your big brother's grand piano, hi hi... Very lovely
T. S. Eliot for teens. Between the motion and the act... before the bang, or whimper.
Ron's feelings toward the bands current direction 😅
@ladyislingering Russell's grandmother from Brittany was a legendary beauty in her day...
@lalabirk Ron can pull off anything.
Sparks fans check out this eclectic and bonkers album - beach boy pastiches, glam rock and klezmer Jewish music. A worthy successor to Indiscreet.
