noway you could hear freddie mercury's influences:-) that's a common mistake... QUEEN were the opening act for the sparks at the beginning of their carrier;sparks started long before queen. It's the opposite : queen borrowed most of their sound(guitar sound, vocal harmonies, even some tunes) from the sparks..and they admitted it;-)sparks wrote "Bohemian rapsody" milion of times before queen!^_^
What a great clip...Ron looks really cheesed off, like Oliver Hardy, then goes all Pete Townshend...He looks at the end like he'd be happier going fishing or throwing stones into the river. Anyway if you had been critically slagged off the way they were in 1975 you might go off and make the dumbest/crudest/ironic sounding music possible, whilst pouring lyrical bile as they did on "Big Beat." So glad they have survived with their inspiration intact to this day.
I still cannot belive that this two genious exists! Im greatful to know their music!!!
Beautiful, merci!
He wears one on the cover of Introducing Sparks in 1977. so, i got one that year.
Well that was a surprise! LOL didn't expect Ron to get up and smash that chair! LOL

I know they were big fans of the Who… So I’m pretty sure this was Ron’s homage to Pete Townshend 😆❤️

I think Russell IS a sex symbol.
