I forgot the name of the show but I think it was on PBS or something. Anyways they do shows that highlight different individuals and they did one on the women who designed and programmed Atari's centipede that looked pretty interesting. There is also an interview of one of the lead designers for the PlayStation games flower and journey done by lbs video game idea channel here on UA-cam (again I forgot the specific name) she talks a bit about her design philosophies and helping minorities get interested in the industry and getting involved etc. You might like them.
I'd love to see more dev chat videos like this one. Even if it's not a game you're not personally interested in, you gotta appreciate how happy and sincere they sound about the games they're making.
If you haven't noticed, the babies actually play cod and minecraft, kid. Go play you're flappy birds or whatever 3 year olds do nowadays other than play cod and minecraft.
Why was more than half of this video about them being female developers? I love that their answer was basically they don't pay attention to gender and just make games. Let's keep it that way
Danny Alfonso I think its to address the concerns of the game industry as being a boys club, showing ladies working on games can only inspire younger girl viewers that a path in game development can be for them if they want it.
Mainman McLaglen And as with everything in life when you look at it realistically, no it really doesn't because humans can be pretty judgmental jerks. Heck just look at how the gaming industry treats female developers.
YingofDarkness Like who? A LOT of female developers are looked up to as idols and heroes. Unless you're talking about certain whiney ones in the indie clique that link to their patreon every time they stub a toe.
The video games industry needs messages like this, or any creative field. It doesn't matter what star you were born in or what you were born as, great ideas can come from anywhere and anyone!
I will get hate but I am quite excited for AC: Amiibo Festival. I think it has so much potential and it is free and will have online features. You just have to pay for Amiibo, and I hope that they won't be stupid rare. It is still in development and they are adding modes. If Nintendo does this right, I believe it would receive less hate but I understand the hate because we all wanted Animal Crossing U. I don't have much for HHD since I am really excited since I have been thinking about Interior and Exterior design a lot. AC: HHD- Hype level 8/10 AC: Amiibo Festival- Hype Level 6/10
Cristian C They have gotten some undeserved hate for this announcement but, Bethesda was finished with Fallout Shelter a year ago but since they couldn't announce Fallout 4 they delayed the release until E3 this year so that they could announce Fallout 4 and release Fallout Shelter all in one and not get hate the previous year for releasing a game that no one asked for in a beloved franchise without announcing a main installment in the series. IMO Nintendo probably should've tried that, the differences being that we don't know if they actually have a console AC planed and if they have that planned for the WiiU or have delayed it for NX in about a couple of years.
Cristian C You will get hate? You're on the Nintendo Channel; this is where we can be blatant about Ninty fanboyism and get away with it :D but that's not what you meant, is it... other Ninty fans will be upset about your excitement...
Cristian C After learning more about it, I can understand why people would buy the game. However, I still think it's not interesting enough in terms of the game mechanics that have been shown. Chibi-Robo Zip-Lash on the other hand is actually something I will be getting, mainly because it reminds me of Umihara Kawase and that is definitely a good thing, even if it's not usual Chibi-Robo.
It's too early for a new Animal Crossing game. Animal Crossing games are meant to be played for a very long time, and New Leaf came out not to long ago. Plus, I feel like Animal Crossing is better suited for handhelds.
Nintendo seem to be one of the few companies putting some focus on their female developers which is great! Highlighting the lady in the Yoshi Woolly World and these ladies in this video
Clay4trey "SwagCupcakes" Every other game that releases this year will be his tribute, also i would imagine there will be a special SUper Mario Maker level made as a tribute
Two female developers who worked on amazing series are more humble than hordes of internet feminists who never made a game, but think they're the greatest thing in the industry. Thank you for the great games, Ms. Kyogoku and Ms. Tabata. Keep 'em coming, and keep inspiring women to actually work on good games.
I've been a gamer since probably 1990. I was given the NES that came with a gun, two controllers and a combination Mario/ Duck Hunt. I disguised my PSP to look like a Nintendo machine since it just felt wrong not having Nintendo on the back. My old NES controllers managed to get slightly warped by the gamer mentality that the harder you mash the buttons, the more powerful the attack will be. When you're eight years old that is a valid belief. It is also valid when you're thirty years old. :) Thank you for making controllers that are more comfortable for the hands! I'm very happy to see women active in making games. It was considered a boy's toy still when I was young. A girl in a video game store was odd.
i want to work at nintendo so bad its been my life time dream and thinking bout it makes me a little scared but after watching this video especially the part when they say dont be afraid to work at nintendo cuz ur a girl makes me feel i little more confident in myself
'sings to the tune of HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY' by Noria Shiraishi from BeForU. ' HAPPY HAPPY Home Designer for you' ;) Love how she says Happy Home Designer. :)
I Hope Nintendo developers chat to become standard. I like a lot this interview. Risa Tabata you are supercute, I love your dance during E3 treehouse live.
When I saw this I was really excited! I'm going to school and getting my Associates in Computer Programming. Computers are awesome , but my main goal is to get into Game Development. I'm still researching on if my experience with programming will help me. People tell me it will substantially . I'm just very knew to all these types of information... Anyone have any tips or information for me? Thanks!
People, be patient for a full Animal Crossing game on Wii U. This board game looks very interesting and fun to play with a group of friends or with the family..
Thanks to UA-cam gamers are no longer patient. I would say it's gotten so bad that after a game that they want has been announced, they quickly move on to the next game they want the next day.
My money is on the fact that a major Animal Crossing release will be for the Nintendo NX. Next E3 is probably going to officially announce the console, this was somewhat of a send-off for the Wii U and some new 3DS games.
TonyKanameKuran Game Stop Gives it to you for half Price if you trade in vita or old 3DS ....the new 3DS is quite frankly the way hand held gaming should be nough said if you have not tried it I suggest go to the nearest store and give it a run through cause it is really ^_^
If these were 2 "male" developers instead and one of them mentioned that he worked on "Metroid Prime Federation Force", I'd bet the comment section (and the like/dislike bar) would've been the exact opposite instead. lol xD
Won't happen. Company's tend to only do that for the founders. Not to mention if they did it for iwata they would then set a precedent and be expected to do it for everyone else. Plus I don't think that's how the Japanese do things.
The amiibo festival send interesting but isn't it just gonna be me watching the CPU just walk around the board and have random encounters across each turn? Do I control anything?
Nintendo I'm surprised that the people at Nintendo haven't put together some sort of tribute to their own corporate president. It's a shame, really, for a game company that has been a part of many peoples childhoods to not host a memorial for another great person.
Simon Redd Or maybe they are mourning, and keeping a private memorial first before doing anything else. Iwata himself was mostly a modest man to begin with. Who knows what his family has said and mandated. who knows what was in his will. instead you complain to a company that just loved their beloved president. its a shame really.
Anyone else think Nintendo should make a Mario hoops 3 on 3 sequel or more Mario sports games. Imagine the possibilities they can use for a Basketball, Soccer, Baseball, or ( if Nintendo becomes moar creative) a Football game.
These women are beautiful, I mean they're really really really beautiful. Don't hate me! I like all asians! But just putting it out there their voices are so sweet in my head.
Love Animal Crossing. To me, Kyogoku is legendary, so it is always nice to see more interviews.
Animal crossing is for babies and ur a babie. Get rest MLG vid and minecraft are actually games that aren't for babies. Lol getrekt pwnd
@@opinionist9942 I'm from the future and you are very epic!!!!
@@opinionist9942 shut up
As a woman who wants to get into game design, I really look up to these two.
I forgot the name of the show but I think it was on PBS or something. I'd love to see more dev chat videos like this one.
Even if it's not a game you're not personally interested in, you gotta appreciate how happy and sincere they sound about the games they're making.
I want to just hug that woman for developing animal crossing (so Much)
Travis Morgan Same here.
she needs to work 4 minecraft or cod cuz Nintendo is for babies
If you haven't noticed, the babies actually play cod and minecraft, kid. Go play you're flappy birds or whatever 3 year olds do nowadays other than play cod and minecraft.
I think they both have a good head on their shoulders and after watching this, I feel more comfortable and confident with Nintendo's directors!
It's really cool to see interviews like this with the developers, please do more :D
I hope Nintendo make a memorial video. Rip Iwata 😞
***** A memorial video is respect
Yeah but maybe they have a different view on respect than you
Mongis Lort Allow Iwata to rest...
Mongis Lort better of not going down that road then it becomes disrespectful any time a big Nintendo employee dies and they don't do a video
Mongis Lort Maybe not according how the company knows iwata.
Aya Kyogoku is so adorable. Just putting that out here
Still waiting on that Iwata tribute...
same here
IAmDroid 40 you
I think, Nintendo don't really wants to talk about it!
Same fam
The Cake Wars episode was a Iwata tribute
This video made me really happy. Thanks so much for uploading!
This was an awesome video. I hope you can do more of these!
Why was more than half of this video about them being female developers?

Danny Alfonso I think its to address the concerns of the game industry as being a boys club, showing ladies working on games can only inspire younger girl viewers that a path in game development can be for them if they want it.
As with everything in life, the merit of your work (or the things you say) matter far more than your mental identity or your physical "equipment".

"What's it like to be a female developer at Nintendo?"
"I never really noticed that."
Done. There's inclusion for you.
When you’re an intelligent woman, you don’t really notice how you’re a woman or whatever
Nintendo seem to be one of the few companies putting some focus on their female developers which is great! Highlighting the lady in the Yoshi Woolly World and these ladies in this video
No! Minecraft and cod are actually good games that aren't for babies! Getrekt I'm actually 9! ALMOST 10!!! you're 7 and you're a baby! getrekt
一人称視点の格闘ゲームで実際に体を動かしてできるものがあったら、リアルとゲームが重なりそう
Both are great developers!
This was so fun to watch!!
It seems so fun to work with Nintendo family in Japan :D
Where is the Iwata tribute?
Clay4trey "SwagCupcakes" Yeah tottaly make a tribute instead you know mourn.
Clay4trey "SwagCupcakes" Every other game that releases this year will be his tribute, also i would imagine there will be a special SUper Mario Maker level made as a tribute
Thats up to the Japaneses
Nick Fernandez people will be making Super Mario Maker levels and memorialize Iwata with them
TheYAYLOLers Games I see.

A preview showed of the game on E3 was quite enjoyable 😌
These two are so pleasant and swell. Fun little video :D
This was super great!
This video makes me really happy XD
Aya Kyogoku should host a nintendo direct sometime. Her love of video games is so clear and she has that perfect nintendo since of houmer.
I am really excited for Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer!
That was a really nice review.
I'm really excited for Animal Crossing: Amiibo Festival :D can't wait to play it n_n
every time I hear "happy homu designa" I smile lol
I’ll always know Aya for writing Twilight Princess, as i’m not too much of an Animal Crossing fan.
Wow great inspiration among Animal Crossing. I really like both games about Animal Crossing for Wii-U and 3DS coming up later on the year! :)
i want to work at nintendo so bad its been my life time dream and thinking bout it makes me a little scared but after watching this video especially the part when they say dont be afraid to work at nintendo cuz ur a girl makes me feel i little more confident in myself

'sings to the tune of HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY' by Noria Shiraishi from BeForU.
' HAPPY HAPPY Home Designer for you' ;) Love how she says Happy Home Designer. :)
I'm excited for animal crossing amiibo party I love nintendo party games and one based around animal crossing sounds fun
at least i'm happy about 2/3 of the games lol
I would love to hear more about the people that work at Nintendo.
I feel the exact same way when Aya Kyogoku says when she got into gaming she felt the desire to create them xD
Risa Tabata's dance along with her translator was easily the best part of E3.
Where can I see it? 😉
These two are on legendary status lol
Am I the only one that is really looking forward to happy home designer?
It's nice to see the developers of my favorite games being so kawaii :3
I'm in love
I'm trying to get to Nintendo, I'm working on getting there, wait for me!! :)
Good luck ! And now, where are you working?
Where is the tribute video to Mr. Iwata? D:

If I were just a few years further into my life, and I had kids of my own, I would probably buy this game.
Do a developer chat with Tetsuya Takahashi and Koh Kojima from Monolith Soft. Please.
People, be patient for a full Animal Crossing game on Wii U. This board game looks very interesting and fun to play with a group of friends or with the family..
Thanks to UA-cam gamers are no longer patient. I would say it's gotten so bad that after a game that they want has been announced, they quickly move on to the next game they want the next day.
skinflutey So it's important to tell them to learn to be patient.
I think all modern media is to blame though..
I hope its something good
The Peeko is love. The Peeko is life.
I love them so much, i wanna meet the animal crossing lady
My money is on the fact that a major Animal Crossing release will be for the Nintendo NX. Next E3 is probably going to officially announce the console, this was somewhat of a send-off for the Wii U and some new 3DS games.
Iwata tribute video coming out soon?
Won't happen.
Good to know how they happy to work whit Nintendo I have good new titles games that I will like to share whit Nintendo
Where is the direct that was promised on 6/14/15 ?!?!
deen dormammu Iwata
Let's just hope that the amiibo cards won't be hard to find like amiibo
Hopefully Nintendo will make enough chibi robo Amiibos for the whole world
Wow this was cool
Now i want to develope games too!!!
I just need a Sable amiibo. That is literally all I want.
Where's Mii land are they working on it I want that game my friend requested it
both are so beautiful!!! º________º
No direct this mounth?
I love this interview. It’s great to have workplace with more equal numbers of female/male. I really think diversity makes great games
If I had a New Nintendo 3DS XL, I would purchase Chibi Robo: Zip Lash and it's amiibo.
TonyKanameKuran Game Stop Gives it to you for half Price if you trade in vita or old 3DS ....the new 3DS is quite frankly the way hand held gaming should be nough said if you have not tried it I suggest go to the nearest store and give it a run through cause it is really ^_^
Still waiting for the Iwata's memorial video...
Very encouraging, only...
I love how Ms. Kyogoku is all like "Nahhhh, genders aren't that different." :D
I'm so happy they uploaded this. It just shows, games are made, and are made for, all ages, genders and nationalities.
MozillaVulpix Can I pet your avatar pls? :3
If these were 2 "male" developers instead and one of them mentioned that he worked on "Metroid Prime Federation Force", I'd bet the comment section (and the like/dislike bar) would've been the exact opposite instead. lol xD
I was crossing my fingers for Zelda Wii U info... there was none.
where is Iwata's tribute. I've been waiting
I feel bad for reggie he looked like he was good friends with iwata
Won't happen. Company's tend to only do that for the founders. Not to mention if they did it for iwata they would then set a precedent and be expected to do it for everyone else. Plus I don't think that's how the Japanese do things.
This video is too sweet and it's making me go into diabetic shock.
...I'm not even diabetic.
Yay, I'm actually early for once!
Can someone tell me why everyone THINKS amiibo festival is free on every website I've checked it's A FULL PRICED GAME YES $60 NOT FREE
The amiibo festival send interesting but isn't it just gonna be me watching the CPU just walk around the board and have random encounters across each turn? Do I control anything?
Paul Sanchez They did say that the board game party isn't the only thing in Amiibo Festival. I guess we need to stay tuned for more info...
That was cool. But I'm still waiting for them to say something about iwata...
I'd sure like to work with those two :)
ジップラッシュはWiiUでも遊びたいですね
Nice to see the less familiar faces of Nintendo. They have a pretty impressive resume between them
Nintendo I'm surprised that the people at Nintendo haven't put together some sort of tribute to their own corporate president. It's a shame, really, for a game company that has been a part of many peoples childhoods to not host a memorial for another great person.
I think they'll have a part of their next direct dedicated to him
Simon Redd Or maybe they are mourning, and keeping a private memorial first before doing anything else. Iwata himself was mostly a modest man to begin with. Who knows what his family has said and mandated. who knows what was in his will. instead you complain to a company that just loved their beloved president. its a shame really.
If someone in your family passed away, would you have a good time making a tribute about him? I doubt you would
Where's Reggie?
Metroid Prime series, huh? Unless you're talking about the Federation Force games, these people are my main.
Anyone else think Nintendo should make a Mario hoops 3 on 3 sequel or more Mario sports games. Imagine the possibilities they can use for a Basketball, Soccer, Baseball, or ( if Nintendo becomes moar creative) a Football game.
Mario Sports Mix is essentially a successor to Mario Hoops 3-on-3.
I'm going to do my best then 🙏
These women are beautiful, I mean they're really really really beautiful.
Don't hate me! I like all asians!
But just putting it out there their voices are so sweet in my head.
Hopefully they make moar Mario sports games
Ideas: Soccer, Football or Rugby, sports mix, maybe even another mario party without the vehicles.
