McFarlane Super Powers: Batwing

  • The McFarlane Toys nostalgic continuation of the Super Powers line gives us a familiar Batwing for the Dark Knight. I grew up watching the Challenge of the Super Friends cartoon that inspired this original line so I obliviously have the original Super Powers Batmobile (along with the Batman and Robin). With the upcoming updated McFarlane Super Powers Batmobile on the way, I had to break down and add this old Batwing to the Batcave.
Check out my old review of the Eaglemoss Batmobilia, Batwing from the 1989 Batman movie: • Eaglemoss: The Batwing...

It’s not as sturdy of a vehicle as the original Super Powers Batmobile but it really is a cool looking collectible.

CHAPMAN!! Nice to hear from you! Yeah, I originally wasn’t going to pick this one up but the retro design pulled me in. Had to get it!

89 Batwing inspired no doubt, there are a lot of Keaton kids all grown up today that won't mind getting this. Not a diecast so not for me. I just go with anything official vehicle none generic. Just IMO
    Cool collection! 😎🦇

I totally get it! For years, other than the Eaglemoss line, I wouldn’t get a Batmobile unless it was black and specifically made from diecast metal, lol. I mentioned in the video that this was an impulse buy and that’s the truth. I was only going to get the McFarlane Batmobile to go along with my classic Super Powers Batmobile but I saw this Keaton-like Batwing in the store and I was weak!!
Thank you so much for watching and taking the time to comment! 👊🏽🦇

Over all I don't really care for the McFarland DC stuff, but it does do a few things I decide to pick up and I am a fan of getting new Superpowers figures. I'll probably even pick up Superman and the Supermobile at some point and if we got Tim Drake Robin and the Redbird I'd pick that up too, but the rest of it really isn't for me.

I can still count on one hand the number of McFarlane collectibles I currently have in my collection. Some of the vehicles are pretty cool though and I’m really looking forward to the new Super Powers Batmobile.
      Thanks for watching! 🦇

Tempting, but the dealbreaker is its plastic. It looks like even the Eaglemoss (RIP) model is not diecast metal this time.

The McFarlane is definitely plastic. Definitely a toy. I think the reason it says 12+ on the box is that a younger child could easily break this Batwing - especially the orange canopy.
It’s actually a misconception I run across with the Eaglemoss line. I’d say that there are almost as many plastic models (especially with the subscriber specials) as there are those with die cast metal parts. That typically makes it a deal breaker for some collectors.
As always, thanks for watching! 🦇
