I think that Stride la vampa has many trills usually omitted by the common mezzosopranos that we aren't used to hear. So she tries them and they can seem wooble
There are 20 trills. The best I’ve heard was Karin Branzell, followed by Margarete Arndt-Ober. Here’s Branzell: ua-cam.com/video/qby-VfMYwT0/v-deo.html
My favorite Azucena, who actually sounds like a crazed Gypsy is Elena Obraztsova in the Karajan recording. You can actually believe her having thrown her baby in the fire.
@@Shahrdad My favorite Azucenas are Fiorenza Cossotto (because of her looking) and Shirley Verrett (because of the perfect singing and heavy fearless chest voice). I'll check that link as well
@@Antonio-qm3bi Cossotto was a great Verdian mezzo in her prime for certain, though she couldn't trill. Verrett had an ok trill, but she sang only two out twenty in Stride la Vampa. If you like chest voice, you'll love Obraztsova, who almost sounded like a baritone. In the Karajan recording, I think she sang a lot of the trills (ua-cam.com/video/4ErBuGagW6M/v-deo.html) but I have not heard anyone trill in this little aria better than Karin Branzell, who sings 20 perfect trills.
@@Antonio-qm3bi Marilyn Horne also sang all 20 trills, though hers were not as great as Branzell's, which had a natural and easy Brrrrrr to them. And she was at best a lyric mezzo which was unsuited to the great Verdi mezzo roles. Amneris nearly destroyed her.
That's, what you might call the wobble are the trills, that Zajic is one of the very few mezzos trying to attempt. At least she tries. Most Mezzos do not have the ability - and agility.

@@th.k.3116that's what I'm saying. It's like complaining about Sutherland's "sempre libera" when she sings "deggio follegiare" or Something like that. There is a low trill that only Callas and Sutherland sang
Nothing more to say! I just love Dolora ❤
Wonderful mezzo/ contralto 💚💖🌟⭐
Along with the great voice, we can literally see the flames reflected in her eyes!
La meilleure ! La plus émouvante !

Personne ne l'a jamais égalé. Jamais. Je l'ai applaudie à Paris. Inoubliable...
I don’t understand a word. So the voice is what for..?
Elle ne me fait pas oublier Fiorenza Cossoto mais c'est beau quand même!
Es que es una mezzo y el papel es para una contralto.Ewa Podles lo canta major
El papel es para una mezzo, contralto seria Ulrica.
Italian please
sorry, but it's Podles who rules here
I thought only Joan Sutherland had a poor diction, Zajick's voice is too throaty, her head voice is collapsed, and she has a noticeable nasal wobble 😐
So you don’t care for her then?
Closed teeth, closed vowels, well protected passaggio...but no pronunciation at all becomes a bit boring at the end. We lose all the words.
Vobble!

Es una gran cantante, pero no convence su Azucena. No alcanza con poner cara de pucheros.
