Great job and perfect splicing the spare evap probe for the cabinet probe. Saves the customer from being down waiting on a part and another trip out to come put it in. What a crazy place to put a freezer. You were right on having them pull their food and have them unplug. Those probes are famous for that. Plus that evap cover. What a cruddy design. Your troubleshooting and repair was top notch. Hopefully you had some time to rest your back. It is really tough on your body. Take care of yourself and keep up the great work.
We found out in a pinch you can use the yellow Vendo temp sensors until you get the factory part. The connectors even match up lol. I was having flashbacks of when I saturated the door switch from all the water getting into the cabinet. 😂 you live and you learn. Thanks for the great video
I had the same part fail on the same freezer brand. I fond Traulsen is fairly easy to diagnose because the computer is well programmed and user friendly.
I’ve always taken out the top cover inside to look at the coil or the evap fan so I didn’t screw up the cover…cause I went to one before that was leaking badly and causing it to freeze…top was mangled…
save those PDFs to your reader app, (example Kindle reader app) and you will always have a copy even if there are internet issues. Great video, very good work. Thanks!
I have a similar freezer job I'm working on now, I ordered a new control board and probes. Now I know how to check the probes to verify 100%. Thanks Dave, I like the comic book style editing in the van ride! ✌
Sensors read 32.7 Kohms when at 32°f iced water.. no need for a board unless it’s really bad, Traulsen is one of the most detailed with their equipment as far as diagnosing goes, follow the book once u fully studied and you should be good bro 😊
That service call checked nearly every P.I.T.A. box I can think of as far as access issues go. They had to shoe horn that machine in there in the first place, it looks like! Great video.
If youtube rewarded quality, yeah. But look at the channels with millions of subs and look at just how worthless their content is. As sub count goes up, quality generally goes down so you can saturate the lowest common denominator aka the dumbest people out there. That's why I stick to the smaller hidden gems that aren't riding the algorithm. Quality over quantity any day. 😎
ive had to replace countless of these traulsen evap and cabinet sensors. When the coil sensor goes bad it terminates defrost almost instantly and causes iced up coilititis!
Don't you love it when the manufacturers make everything nice and serviceable eh ? Just have to cut out the foam to access the evaporator and re-do the seal once you're done , what's the big deal ?!
typical traulsen and their sensors going bad....all that work over a sensor...better put some WD-40 on those evap cover screws...they are getting rusty.
Traulsen is Notorious I repeat Notorious for sensor failure. Also not a fan of those wires in front of the condenser, can’t even clean it with solution before you make a big o mess and possibly short some wires 👎🏼
I feel like those failed evap probes is the number 1 problem with these little self contained freezers

My Boss to me : "Why didn't you unload the freezer for them?"
Exactly
A lot of manuals say, to point your sensorbulb upwards. So that moisture can't get in. Then your sensor will last longer.
Dave should be at 100k subscribers easily - 150k --> 250k range would be more appropriate for the quality and consistency of the channel.
Thank you Mike. Happy New Year’s

Awesome job 👍👍👍👍

Those combination locks you use on your ladder can be picked easily. I watched a young man demonstrate picking mine in 30 sec.
woah, Dave fed the camera LSD and it was trippin bawlz by 6:52 🤣🤪
nice job , i like that coil cleaner especially in kitchen settings works really good
Oh yeah those Traulsen are notorious for the lid freezing to the evap.
Troubleshooting on point
Thanks!
Looks like the kind of space we have in NYC. The kind that gives you the hump in your back a crook in the neck. Hope you had a ball surfing.

Excellent repair video! I always try to use some of the old gundy on every job 😆😀
Was expecting a song with this as the lyrics to the tune of take me home tonight
Thanks for the video Dave, awesome fix, ice can do some damage tp a box if ya let go too long.
Awesome vid and thank you for the little tips and tricks..
My pleasure

I pull that off paragon timer and a freezer stat ... seen to many go and oem parts are crazy expensive and not avaliable
💪👍🙏🇺🇸❄ Great troubleshooting. PITA job no room but discipline and patience prevails 👍
Nice Super Dave!
My c4-c6 fusion just loves Pizza Hut and their low head room kitchens. At least Traulsen didn't put like 20 screws in the doghouse...oh wait.
probes at 32 F are 32.7 K ohm
Had two door Traulson freezer would not defrost. Called factory and was told board not available.
That sucks
Man I've never had that happen to me when taking the top off the evaporater on one of those, that thing must have been froze up for a while
Good video 🙏🏾🤟🏿
"Chunkertitus" 🤣🤣
If you unplug the evap sensor it defaults to time based defrost. Traulson sensors are WHACK.
Every time I work on a taulson or franke equipment I feel like that "why can't you just be normal" meme.
Great vid Dave
Do you have a link for that website you were using for the Traulsen programming?

Did you let the coil cleaner dry off or did you rinse it?
