I ramble on about why I don't like fighting people, and some of my violent childhood in the era of the budding internet of the late 1990's and early 2000's - When Dragonball Z was the highlight of the week, and Playstation 1 was everything . Lol. In between all that the boys of my hood were always trying to see which one of us were the toughest. What a simple time that was. In comparison I barely recognize the world of today. I blinked a became a middle aged man, and soon I'll be old ;)
My life's goal at this point is to keep my mind, and stay on my bike for as long as I can - whatever else comes is a bonus.
nice video
You run a front derailleur?
Yeah.
@@rustyburger I started out city riding in Boston (with traffic) running a front derailleur. At some point, I realized I never used it, like at all.
I kept the middle chain ring, lost the other two & removed the front derailleur. Made it feel more responsive & gave it a much nicer, clean look. Cheers
@@houseofsolomon2440 Yeah, it's the same as me, I barely shift out of my biggest gear because most of the climbs I'm around I can burst up them.
I eventually want to change it to a single speed in the front as well, but my biggest ring still has some life left to give - when I do though that'll be a lot of weight savings, probably a pound at least of rotational weight which is worth like roughly 3 pounds of standard weight - pretty meaningful for a 27 pound mountain bike! I get what you're trying to suggest, thanks for the hints :D I've already been thinking of it for awhile, but am trying to save money for a road bike right now :D
@@rustyburger You totally get it ... I was probably just trying to spread the gospel of single chain rings 😄
Wishing you safe & fun travels 🏝
