I am happy to report that I was successful in getting a key cut which opened my Automatic Safe Recording Co, First State Bank of Detroit, No 33000 bank. Used a 1225A blank key to start with. Thanks for the video as it was extremely helpful.
I have one of those lock boxes in my collection of weird locks. Never got around to making a key for it though but I’m pretty sure I have some that might fit it in my old used precut flat key collection. You do excellent work. These kinda jobs are fun but because it’s a lot of labor, that alone might cost more than these little boxes are worth. Time is money but you hate to have to charge that much. Thanks for sharing!
That was really cool to see. Those are great looking money boxes, we don't get that style here. I see that No Files Were Harmed in the making of this video. Cheers
Mrs Deadlocks has a colection of these coin boxes. Got a Barclays bank one the same as that. Might have a go at makeing a key for it. Thanks for the info👍
Hi Jason. Thanks for taking the time to do this video. Does Kim know that you use the posh smelling candles for impressioning keys? Nicely done too. I thought files can be bi directional, with new cutters on them. Saws only cut in one direction but we don't take them away from the cut then place them back again. Strange that. Thanks again for doing this video. Nice to see the workings of this piece of history.
I just made a key for my Traveling Teller out of an old reciprocating saw blade using your template. Luckily it didn't need multiple teeth. I will say these things are pretty fickle. It took me 2 tries to get a serviceable key. Also strange that it only opens in one direction.
What was they key blank number and manufacturer you used to cut the key? I have to make the keys for the two "banks" that I have by the Automatic Recording Safe Co.
I have been looking for this key for decades. Please - I’d be so happy and grateful if you will make me one too. My bank belonged to my grandmother and it is the only momento I have of her. Hope to hear from you!
Sir, I have one of these banks. My local locksmith does not want to get involved in trying to make one for me but he says he will give me the blank and I can attempt it. How much would you charge to make me one of these?
Now he can get duplicates at Walmart. Better stamp DND on them. Lol Jason filing in high speed a around 38 minutes sounds like a jackhammer in the background.
***PLEASE NOTE: We do not have copies of these keys keys for sale. We only make them on a case-by-case basis.
How much would it be to have one made? I just found my grandpas traveling teller safe and want to open it up.
How can I buy a key?
Hi do you still make these keys?

Dig It!!
I’ve always thought the true test of a locksmith is the ability to make/impression a key just like that. Great job Sir!

Beautiful job! My fav part of locksmithing actually smithing 😁
Many thanks for that. Tells me exactly how to do the same thing to a UK version of the same box!
Hey Jason, Those look like the keys for paper towel dispensers. Fun little video.
A cool bit of lock history. Always enjoy watching your rekey vids.
Have a good one Jason :)
Good job! Took me awhile to figure out how the coin slot keepers sprung.
Thanks Jason

I have an antique bank like this from my grandfather. I’d love to have keys made for it. It has coins inside.
I have been looking for this key for decades. Please - I’d be so happy and grateful if you will make me one too. My bank belonged to my grandmother and it is the only momento I have of her. Hope to hear from you!
Great job!! Just curious, why don't you use the bit key duplicator in the back to copy the bitting onto the other blanks?
The center cut makes it too easy to break when using the slotter. I discovered that the hard way the first time I did these
I have one of the Travel teller’s along with a key, but it will not open the teller. What is your solution?
I used a piece off of a paper bull dog clip and was able to open the box easily. Locking it is a different story though.
I've got some keys that looked like that.
The first one is the hardest!
Nice job Jason. Time consuming fun. What’s it worth for your time ??
Good work!

I was quoted $30 to make my Yale key by a local locksmith
Can you make me a key?
Can I send you my bank to get keyed
Ilco 1222AL key blank is one that worked for me.
Any flat key type blank (many safe deposit style keys) that are wide enough and thin enough to fit can be used!
