KUDOS TO YOU PITINO, for handling the situation as a great leader and down right awesome person you are. Thanks for being so loving and understanding to your team during a horrible incident......keep up the good work and let's win it all...for Kevin!!!!
HUGE respect for Kevin. I don't think anybody could be as strong as him. Such a bad injury, and I think he handled it real well. The team must feel horrible, i would to. It looked like the other team was upset that this happened. I cant blame them, that was brutal.
When I heard about this i felt so bad, but then i found out he will play again and it made me feel so much better :). At least he will have a cool story to tell when it gets all better
This is the reason i want and am in phyiscall therapy so i can help people recover from those injuries...help with rehap so they can play again :) good look Kevin im sure the boys will bring it home for you
Strong guy. U don't feel the pain until u see it your injury. And for him to take his mind off the pain and to get him team head back into the game by sayin just win the game true ball player.
To this day I can’t look at Kevin when he lands on the floor at that moment. Those minutes after, the boys so upset-all of it, go through my head and it makes me sick like it did that day.
@visiblyimperfect11 It's good he broke it instead of sprained it because its easy to come back from a clean break like that. If he got a bad sprain he would most likely never play again but please broken in half bones are easier to come back on because your not hurting the muscle.
With a player whose legs are exceptionally long and thin, plus had some stress fractures (even if they were painful, would be ignored because players just want to win, they don't care if they hurt) kinda surprising it doesn't happen more often. People don't think of repetitive injuries happening to bone, but it could be seen that way - it was finally one time too many, but since it's bone, that last 'small' injury caused catastrophic failure at the weakest point.
comparing injuries .. i think tearing your knee up is alot worst than breaking a bone as a bone can heal 100% ..poor man!... get well quickly Kevin....
Well, i've heard that over the course of his basketball career, coming down on his legs, he developed small fractures that weren't diagnosed, which eventually led to well.. you know. It's like when people say "I loosened it up for you" when you try to open a bottle of water or something... Those fractures were that person, then that jump was the final push. Tragic, but good news is that he recovered, is in a cast, and might play next season. Although mentally and physically harming, he'll play.
The reason his leg broke was because of the force, when you apply force awkwardly to your bones, they can snap instantly. That could of happened to anyone.
Who was the one player that saw the injury happen then jumped from behind the bench as Ware was laying alone on the floor? While the rest of the players tried to turn away and get away he came to Ware's aid almost immediately.
I am still curious how did he get this type of injury, from the video it seemed like any other normal landing. I at least expected a knee injury, although it was a bit awkward how that result ended. I am just trying to find an explanation. Thanks
It is important, where do you think professional athletes got noticed for their sport? It's pretty much impossible to get drafted if you don't play in college. That's like saying high school is pointless unless you are going to get a job.
What difference does it make if its at a professional level or not, people love the sport. and March Madness is one of the most televised sporting events of the year
This is unique because it's never happened in a basket ball game. It does happen several times a year in all kinds of sports. Btw, I love milk.... Especially chocolate.
May you please show me evidence of citric acid eating *cartilage, there is various evidence showing milk weakens bones, when drinking in EXCESS, hint the word EXCESS. It can cause conditions such as osteoporosis
No, its not that uncommon with athletes. These guys are so big and strong that all that force and power in their arms and legs can suffer serious compound injuries from time to time. We have seen these injuries before especially in football but it can also happen on a basketball court.
You're actually wrong. He had an abnormally high amount of micro-fractures in his leg - thus making the angle at which he landed and the weakness in his leg led to this injury. It had nothing to do with how strong he is.
im sure his bones r strong obviously playin sports all those years. its just the certain angle of how he came down n pressure of it...could happen to anyone.
My comment was directed towards the people that were saying "omg pray for kevin sooo bad" or "worst sports injury" i don't follow motocross but i know injuries like this happen a lot in that sport. I guess i didn't express my opinion the right way. Sorry if that makes me a dumb ass.
I don't follow the Cards or their players at all, but is someone saying Kevin Ware was married? Or are they referencing towards someone else, because last time I checked...he was not.
The bone broke and tore the skin, the impact force for this to happen has to be giant, impossible happen this only with a jump to block a shot, had something wrong with him
This team really loves each other and cares for each other it's sad :(

When I heard about this i felt so bad, but then i found out he will play again and it made me feel so much better :). At least he will have a cool story to tell when it gets all better
A pesar de semejante lesión, eso es pensar en el equipo! "Just win the Game", mis respetos para Kevin!
This had to be difficult for everyone there. I'm glad they won.
I'm pretty sure he'll be able to play again pretty soon as well because his break was a clean cut and that heals much faster than a jagged cut.
Thank you. Have a good day :-)
Pitino is nothing but class all the way - Go Cards and get well soon Kevin Ware #5 Still Alive.
Very good coach.
I really hope he gets better
This is the reason i want and am in phyiscall therapy so i can help people recover from those injuries...help with rehap so they can play again :) good look Kevin im sure the boys will bring it home for you
OMG I pray hell get better that was crazy I've never seen anything happen like that before or heard of anything like that before
Strong guy. U don't feel the pain until u see it your injury. And for him to take his mind off the pain and to get him team head back into the game by sayin just win the game true ball player.
Awsome coach
I hope they win the whole thing for him
Poor guy :( let's ALL pray for Kevin... EVEN Duke fans...
To this day I can’t look at Kevin when he lands on the floor at that moment. Those minutes after, the boys so upset-all of it, go through my head and it makes me sick like it did that day.
In about a year, he will be back!! Pray for him and hope for the best. Im sure he will be back

It's hard to believe a simple jump like that could break a leg so badly, but apparently it can
I don't watch basketball but I hope he can recover that could cause permanent damage
Mad respect for kevin and kobe got a bruised shin once and he went ln the bench smh
The reason his leg broke was because of the force, when you apply force awkwardly to your bones, they can snap instantly. That could of happened to anyone.
Deep.

He snapped his leg in half it wasn't a normal broken leg if they can't fix it they'll have to cut his leg off
