- In between filming, a customer dropped by thinking he might just need a new window switch for his non-functioning passenger door automatic window on his 300D--not so easy, unfortunately. Here, Michael will demonstrate how to remove and reinstall a door panel on a W123, and how to replace the motor without removing the regulator. Perfect, simple instructions - especially using the heat gun on the latch cover and the clip at the forward edge of the panel. This saved me a lot of time andf aggravation. Thanks, Michael!
Michael, that is very helpful, I will be taking my W123 front door lining off soon and you covered everything perfectly. Getting at that screw at the top of the armrest / door pull had puzzled me in the past. Thanks
Glad to be of help. Thanks for watching!
Excellent work and also very good instructional video.
Nice article. Unfortunately my doors are stuck closed, despite being "open" and can't gain access to the chrome around the lock.
To get your door open, first make sure it's unlocked. If the lock button won't stay up, have a helper roll down the window and keep it pulled up from the outside. Then your helper will need to pull on the outer door handle to keep it in the "open" position. You, meanwhile will lay on the rear seat, or opposite front seat depending on which door is stuck, and pound away at it with your feet.
Hi Michael, what do you do if your window is all the way down? Went down, wouldnt come back up, passenger side switch is good, was able to swap them out, no luck.
Take the door panel off and check the slider. It’s probably broken. New one can be had at Mercedes source
Props to the camera person again.
Thank you.
hello, cool video. for w124 its same for testing motor direct to battery ? or i put 1 wire green to (+) battery. and negative battery to ground or to other wire black ? best vibes cheers
Yes, it's the exact same process. Thanks for watching!

Michael would you have a regulator for a W116 1980 300sd front passenger side? Just asking and I will keep looking, ebay I believe has some new ones, but looking for a good used one. Thanks for the great videos.
hello .....
thanks for asking about a part for your car....and yes, i do have a RF, pass, window regulator. it is tested and guaranteed. the frame is straight, and the nylon bushing in the lifter arm is still there and in nice condition.....which is rare.
