Mercedes-Benz W123 door handle removal

In preparation for buffing the paint on this 240D, Michael is removing all of the fender/door trim and trunk badges. The door handles will be coming off too, as Michael demonstrates here.

Can you get the handle off without using the keys?

I pulled my 1980 w116 driver side handle a week ago due to it is not opening from the outside. Have not figured out yet how to make it open from outside yet. Any tricks on how to tweek it to help open the latch?

As long as the body style is the same, you can. W123 to W123, W126 to W126, and so on.
