George was one of the greatest songwriters of all time. An impeccable voice and vulnerability that exuded from every note he sang made him in my book untouchable. I am so excited Older has been re-issued. I got my box set a couple of days ago and it is beyond stunning. I’ve been a massive George Michael fan since his Wham! days. If you stuck around and followed him you would have witnessed what a one of a kind singer, songwriter and producer this man was. It is quite astonishing that he sold 120 million records yet his output was not much. What he did release was perfect and always worth the wait.
This is, in my opinion, best George album. I just love jazz flavoured sound of Older. Vinyl looks amazing. I'm from Serbia and l clearly remember all singles from Older, although I was only 8 when it was released. It was huge, it's not really surprise, because he was, at the time, massive star. My top 3 are Fastlove ( obviously, huge single) Older and Move On. The rest is very good too. Sometimes it's surreal that he released only 4 studio albums of original material, in comparison how many classics he actually have.
My red vinyl arrived today and I have to say the sound is absolutely astounding.Beautiful bass,no clicks at all,and a nice thick slice of red wax. I am now reconciled with the fact that I sold my two original pressing copies.
Excellent review I grab the red and green. Definitely one of the great 90s album I would say this is his best the musicianship top notch I played the hell out of the cd now I’m go into play the hell out of the vinyl. George’s songwriting definitely was ahead he embraced his soul influences and put his spin on it simply stunning . Lovellandrew
I ordered my copy Saturday. I never owned it on vinyl. I do have the CD somewhere in my house. I’m looking forward to listening to it on vinyl. I also bought it on cassette from his store 😅😅.
I just received the super deluxe box set and I have the original. Spent a few hours comparing and it’s clear to me the original sounds much better. The package is nice, book and pictures are great but sounds are not as strong as original I so wanted the re issue to sound better but noooooo Anyway, good to have reissued as the original is insane money
@@top5records796 the bass is more natural sounding on the original, re issue has more bass but sounds woody. Also George voice more clear and forward on original. The original has has more energy which is odd as the re issue on 2 disk so should have more punch Noticed this a lot on faster love, original bass sounds like a bass guitar but re issue just a thump. Played back to back on same system so def in the remix
Mauro Scocco is the Swedish George Michael. Great dliw songs and dance songs. "Om du var här" - Ratata, Lisa Nilsson, he produced. Peter LeMarc is a great swedish soul artist and Cajsa-Stina Åkerström a great female one.
Hello, I waited for this moment so long, but I am totally disappointed of records quality. I got double LP black vinyl and from the first notes I noticed that the sound is flat and the high frequencies are cut down. I took my CD and compare it by switch the channels - the diffrence is unbelievable : Pure wide and crystal clear sound. My setup: NAD 306 amp, NAD 514 CD player and Technics SL-Q2 turntable . I tested this record with lot of diffrent cartridges - no fuNkin diffrence!!! Damn.. this is my disappointment of the year!
OLDER was his most beautiful and inspired moment in his whole career.... What words, what MUSIC.... George was an incredible ARTIST! Miss him so much!
My Favorite album from my favorite artist ❤

White vinyl version arrived here today and it's a winner. Looks and sounds stunning! RIP George Michael and thank you for this masterpiece.
He had the voice of an angel.
I have the black vinyl version, I’m so happy this has been reissued
A great, GREAT album by a magnificent pop scholar
You're completely right about that!
Bought it too
I've always said George Michael was a soul singer.
He surely is!
I’ve been looking forward to this for so long. Can’t wait for mine to ship
*to be delivered
The final postponing had to do with the passing away of the British Queen.
@@top5records796 Did it?

OK..Sorry, biggest disappointment of this year was in the morning of 24th February.
I have yet to get this but one has to be weary of remasters too often it's hit and miss.. Much prefer reissues with original mastering
You’re right, I’m always weary about remasters and won’t buy one unless I know about the source and the mastering-engineer.
Unless there are no other options available, like with Older.
