- Best viewed in 60 fps. Timestamps are below. Although edited out, I restarted on the following stages: White Land 2, Death Wind 2 and Fire Field. The cups were not played one right after the other as it appears in the video.

King League 29:39
Hi Res Mode 7. I love it. Dunno how many times I played this game back in the 16 bit days, but I still know how impressive it was seeing it for the first time. This changed my appreciation for racing games for the rest of my life.
It really was impressive back then. Plus the music was awesome too. One of my friends got this and Pilot Wings for his birthday. I remember sitting on his living room floor playing both games all day. We had his SNES hookup to his boombox and had it blasting. Good times and great memories go hand in hand with F-Zero.
I’ve gone my entire life without knowing Fire Field even existed.
Now I NEED to beat it.
The real struggle in this game for me is either being rammed by CPU or the road blocking cars
The orange bumper cars are the worst
What about in the battle royale take, F-Zero 99?
@@685eric685 Absolute choose of course! But instead of racing against CPUs, you'll most likely be racing against experts who annihilated those CPUs like this guy, and they definitely want you DEAD
@685eric685 There's way more of them. On the last lap there's dozens of exploding red bumpers
@@MightyPinto Yeah, you gotta be extremely careful if you want to stay in first place when those start spawning.
I was literally asked "what is your favorite racing series?". For a few seconds I didn't know and told them it was this game, and then I decided to watch it.
Hey man, got to this video with the exact same reason!
What a cool beginning
This was the first SNES game I bought after the SMW pack-in. I hadn't seen any video of the game in motion and was blown away by the race intro zoom and smooth track rotation. The gameplay, tight controls (for the stingray) and soundtrack were top tier... F-Zero99 emerged from my dreams into reality.
I haven't played this in probably about 10, perhaps more, years but I distinctly remember how mind-bendingly difficult some of these stages were. Also how I discovered SNES controllers are surprisingly durable.
Hahaha the mines ships are like homing
can't wait all those track on F-ZERO99
Dang, Fire Field is gonna be insane in F Zero 99! I also can't wait to see how the new tracks shake up the vehicle meta.
Agreed, I’m currently running a Golden Fox, and I think it’s going to last about 30 seconds in king league. I think those that have put time into Wild Goose will reap the benefits.
More than 30 years later and this game has aged incredibly well. It still looks amazing to this day. Long live the SNES!
Nice play though! It's refreshing to see a UA-camr who know how to play F-Zero.
Keith2800 Right on! I've been playing this game since it came out and it still can kick my ass pretty good. I know I've never come close to a flawless run. IMO, that is what makes this game so great.
I finally swept the entire master class yesterday. No resets. No retries. I have to put a date stamp on this (2/2/21).
@@scienspace7323 not good enough to do fancy stuff (like the jump shortcut on port town). Just regular racing with Fire Stingray. And before you ask , no i will not try it with Golden Fox :D
@@mquiroz90 can you beat a 2'11 on Big Blue?
@@mquiroz90 ok my most prized time is 3'20 on Fire Field. That was a pain.
@@mquiroz90 go into that first zigzag on FF going slightly less than 478 and hit the wall perpendicular. It slows you down to high 300s speed but it bounces you perfectly.
Not to brag...but I just did it again, but a harder way...in order (Knight, Queen, King).
What a final lap!
Wow the final stage is really breath taken! It's like a war
On this difficulty I find the most annoying course to be Port Town 2. Not Death Wind 2, not even Fire Field. Those are difficult but Port Town 2 is a different kind of beast. On paper it's less difficult to navigate, but it's set up in such a way that avoiding traffic is incredibly hard, and collisions often leave you in awful positions. In this way, the game is challenging you to stay above 5th place at all times. Fail this, and you'll be faced with way too much traffic to reliably avoid, making any chance of recovery slim at best.
I think people underestimate how brutal Port Town 2 can be, because what makes it difficult isn't immediately obvious. You could say it's the assassin of the group.
Loved the fact that after beating White Land I, you immediately face White Land II.
Also lol at the poor schmuck who got taken out after the big jump on lap 2.
Well Done!!! Now i know the best spot to use the Speed boost for Fire Field.
Ive been trying to beat King Master Class for a month now.
I see as long as you can get in front on that course, just keep them in check and your good.
Thanks!!!!!
I finally beat the King League on Master difficulty today.
Congrats!
I preferred the Blue Falcon as my ride. The game manual pitched it as a good racer for beginners, but i appreciated its balance of speed, handling and grip. No waiting almost a full lap to top out your speed or having to cheat by being Rammed from behind like the Stingray, and once you mastered its handling, you would find ways to eke more speed out of it and get incrementally faster🎉
I am struggling to beat King League in Expert mode, I can only imagine what hell it must be to play those tracks in Master Mode.
Port Town 2 is the biggest roadblock for me, the road is tight and the CPU cars won't stop ramming into my car. Fire Field is hell too.
UPDATE: I beat the King League on Expert!
Again I have to complement you on this rendering. It is without compare. Though strong sharpening is obvious, (the game really doesn't look like this) it is a beautiful rendition.
What editor do you use?
Unlike my other video of this game that you commented on, this was actually played using the high res Mode 7 feature, so it has very little to do with which editor I used. That said, I just use VirtualDub for rendering. arstechnica.com/gaming/2019/04/hd-emulation-mod-makes-mode-7-snes-games-look-like-new/
@@arronmunroe Not what I expected. I am not sure what to think. It both is and isn't original. Anyway, fascinating.
Also not what I expected for editing. I already use VirtualDub2 for rendering, but it's too basic to handle most things. Thank you.
your very good at this game! When i played Mute City i lost a bunch of times
Awesome. I have beat all leagues on Master with the Stingray. Took me a lot of time to do King League, i always lost on Fire Field but i did manage to do it once a couple of years ago. I'm currently trying to do it again but Fire Field keeps beating me lol
I love Port Town and White Land so much
that sound when you land, I've never heard that. Is it from pressing down to land smoother? It always made a smacking sound when I've landed. way to post in 2020 too... surprising!
Yes, holding down is the way to not lose speed when landing from a jump.
You are officially better than me if you won more than 11 of 15 races. Mine was one continuous play through. I lost on Mute City 1, Death Wind 2, Port Town 2, and Fire Field.
I don't think I ever tried doing all 3 in one sitting without restarting.
@@arronmunroe I started with King Cup and then--amazingly--blew up twice on (of all races) Mute City 1. >:(
is the fire stingray required to beat master mode? Im just no good at keeping up its top speed without slowing, but the other cars seem top slow? or is it a matter of just perfecting tracks and hoping not to get rammed?
It definitely is possible to beat the game on master with the other vehicles, although I never did it with anything except the stingray. I can't say I tried too many times with anything else, though.
I beat the Queen League on Master with the Golden Fox... It was hell, to say the least. I highly recommend the Fire Stingray since despite the poor acceleration, it is the most balanced vehicle.
I always found it funny that Fire Stingray which caps at 478km/h without boost can hardly keep up with a Golden Fox that caps at an unstable 438km/h in any difficulty above standard lol
This game brings back so many memories.
Can I use this video on my channel for back ground?
I'm not completely sure what you mean, but if you just mean having the video displayed on a TV behind you, that's ok with me.
Why every F-Zero TAS I see it's 2160p and unwatcheable? I've putted 720p60fps and it struggles to load, and finally it stutters every moment >.>
I'm not really sure what the problem is, since having a 2160p option on a video shouldn't cause a problem if you're using 720p60. Have you tried playing the video on a different web browser? Also, this video actually isn't a TAS, but that's sort of beside the point.
25:40-25:45 - (un)fortunately, this section got nerfed in F-zero 99 so that you can make the jump at 360 km/h minimum.
Thats the hardest jump in the game for me
F-Zero probably has one of the cheapest AI in racing games history
I can win all 15 races on Master easily, though Knight's Death Wind I and King's Mute City III is a pain.
Those are 2 of the easiest courses wtf man 🤦♂️
Death Wind I is a pain? It's easy for me as long as I don't get overwhelmed by the gimmick of said track. The other Death Wind is what pains me.
White Land is the hardest track for me. I cant make that jump
Hold down on the d-pad while entering the jump. It points the nose upward.
Hold ⬇️ as you jump.
