Such a great video! You mentioned this in the video, and I wanted to add to it. It's true that recruiters are mostly looking for advanced admin. To follow the learning path that is the most natural, it makes more sense to get app builder before advanced admin.
Thanks for the info. I was going to start breaking into Salesforce with the Platform App Builder but sounds like it's not in demand so I'll start with the Admin but do you think it's worth the investment in getting the Advanced Admin before moving into Developer certification? A development role is my ultimate goal.
I do think it’s worth it to go for the admin and advanced admin before developer certs. In every meeting I have been in that has a developer, we’ve looked to them to know salesforce administration like the back of their hand. And really know when they need to code or not. So definitely get the knowledge of the admin first!
Thank you for the breakdown video. Is Salesforce Sales Operations Professional Certificate part of any of the ones you mentioned or is it in a completely different area of expertise? Thank you.
Hi , I was also looking for mention of this certificate program from coursera. Did you find any info on the same. I do not find much videos about that certificate program being reviewed too.
I think that trailhead is a great place to start! Although it’s really difficult to pass an exam on just trailhead alone. I suggest doing additional learning through courses, videos, and practice exams. Plus it shakes things up from just going through documentation.
For a deeper understanding of Salesforce, consider watching this video: ua-cam.com/video/GdjbcKhf7zE/v-deo.html Regarding the certification, there are usually opportunities to retake if the first attempt isn't successful.
This REALLY depends on your personal scenario. I wouldn't classify it at one of the most game changing certifications to get in salesforce. However, in preparing for the cert you do learn some really valuable things about the discovery process and working with all stakeholders involved in creating a solution. Which IMO everyone could use those skills in salesforce. It may not get you a new job, but it will 100% make you better at a current one!
Great video, Emily. I am Advanced Admin. working towards Dev. 1. Salesforce is an awesome platform, and the Salesforce industry pays great dividends.
Thank you for making this! Just trying to get into this field now and it’s very overwhelming but your video has made it a bit more clear
Thanks for the video, as a new person in this Career this helps me to decide which path to follow.

Once you get the certification, are you just adding it to your LinkedIn profile title/description?
Do you have an opinion on the training from Salesforce Trailhead and how it stacks up against other certs?

Hi Emily, can please suggest some resource to start learning salesforce as a complete beginner?
Create a free account on trailhead
Thanks
You’re welcome! :)
Is it recommended to go from Admin Certification to CPQ? Or what path would be recommended to reach CPQ?
Admin to CPQ
Where are all the training courses for these certs? I never see any of them on the actual website, I could be overlooking but its hard to find.
A lot of this courses are available on UA-cam.
Hello Emily

Regarding the certification, there are usually opportunities to retake if the first attempt isn't successful.
Which certification is best for beginners
The associate certification, then the administrator certification.
Is the Business Analytics Certification valuable or not really?
