I just got this kit today. I thought a hydrometer came with it? Good instructions. I appreciate you sharing the knowledge. You guys look like you had a good time making it.
Just stumbled across this video. I'm sitting here, watching you slop water all around your kitchen, appeasing the beer gods while getting ready to brew, working the video without a script thinking to myself, "I love this guy!!!" This is like watching one of my brew days! Keep having fun with your brewdays. I hope your NB Extract Kit comes out good. CHEERS ! ! !
Jim Shellhamer Haha, I like my kitchen clean, so that's why I make a big mess brewing beer in my basement garage. Pretty sure my wife would have left me long ago if I brewed every batch in the kitchen.
So...I "misplaced" the instructions for the Amber Ale brewing process but found this video. Yup...I watched you while I brewed my batch! Lots of starts and stops during the process, but "beer" is in the fermenter, and in 2-3 weeks shall bottle. ( I had a "chiller" hooked to garden hose so I saved 20 minutes !) Will let ya know if you "brewed" 2 batches of good beer.lol. Thanks for the help:) JT
Reminds me of my first few forays into homebrewing. You'll get the hang of it, man. Before you know it, you'll be making full yeast-starters on stir plates and critiquing grain toasts, lol.
Thanks for sharing ! i just ordered this kit it will be arriving within the next few weeks. this will be my first time brewing beer so your video was some help !
Nice video, I'm glad it turned out good. A couple things that could have been helpful but are not included in the kit as it comes. You stated the Hydrometer, this is crucial if you want to measure your AVB and also confirm that fermentation is complete. Also, I know these recipes don't actually call for it but I would use some either Whirlfloc tablets or just plain Irish Moss about 15 minutes before the boil is done. The stuff you were seeing that was on the top was a product of not all the sugars making it into the sludge at the bottom. It can cause the beer to be a bit weak and cloudy as you want as much of the sugars as possible to turn into alcohol. Great video though! I'm considering getting a keg myself, I really hate the bottling!
So, putting the lid in the bucket and spinning it doesn't scratch the sides of the bucket? Scratches in the side will cause further brews to possibly be contaminated with bacilli and cause off flavors in future brews.
Dry yeast doesn't need to be refrigerated so long as it's stored in a cool and dry location. It can last up to a year. Liquid yeast should be refrigerated and should be viable up to 6 months from packaging.
Same! lol i didn't even know this channel existed and iv'e been watching him for like 4-5 years. I was watching his Terroir gameplay and he mentioned this channel, wish i found it earlier :)

Thank you for the video. I just ordered this beer kit and starting homebrewing. I will be coming back to this video as I begin my journey.
Great video love watching someone make all the mistakes for us so WE don't have to. Cheers!

Ha, yeah, I'm not what you would call a clean brewer. It's all about having fun and hopefully having good beer to enjoy when it is all said and done!
Great vid man. Very helpful I plan to order my first brewing kit can’t wait to get started. Thanks for sharing some knowledge
Cheers to good beers

Nice video. You definitely need to do more videos as they are easy to watch and I actually learn something in the process. Thanks
I really enjoyed this video. I used it to do my first batch today. It looks like you had as much fun as I'm having. Thanks!
Definitely having a lot of fun! I just wish I had more time to do more batches!
I think I'm gonna have to make time. Anyone who likes drinking beer should be doing this. And I'm only about to start fermentation 😂

After doing a few batches in the past and bottling them, the kegs are definitely worth the investment!

Nice video! Is there a problem if I forgot to refrigerate the yeast?

good vid, but i hop you remembered to take the label off the bottom of your brew kettle.
It's like watching Cloverfield and Blair Witch....
SOMEONE GET A TRIPOD FOR THE CAMERA !!!
Hi Jeff hi Julia
I'm getting motion sickness!
you should do voice overs
hope ya pulled the label off the bottom of the pot....oòps
It'll burn off. No biggie.
JSano19 brought me here. lol.
Same! lol i didn't even know this channel existed and iv'e been watching him for like 4-5 years. I was watching his Terroir gameplay and he mentioned this channel, wish i found it earlier :)
Yep, same here. Looking forward to see more here. So its "JSano19 - Gamer, Nurse, Fire Fighter, Brewer" now, i guess.
LOL He should add that to his name that would be awsome!
Holy effen motion sickness in the first three minutes. Other than that good video
Why the hell u tippin bucket over you do no that when you added the water and wort in to bucket that was airating it hence all the foam
I thought you were supposed to steep the hops like you do with the grains
Depends on the beer you're brewing.
The hops in this video were pellets
II really wanted to watch your video but the camera movement was making me sick.
Where close caption?
Pour harder...
tidy that house, I've ocd, and i just couldn't watch this mess.
