Funny how every single city in the world has now adopted this "separate big letters name of the city" trend. I live in Lévis Québec, Canada and we have those😅 They seem to have appeared in every Canadian city too
Thank you, @FraserAtSea! I am sure you have heard many? Before I started my contract, I was looking for something like this to get an understanding of what life is really like for crew onboard. There are different stories and outlooks, and I wanted to offer mine for anyone seeking information as well.
Hey Dan , just want to say your vids have helped me a lot . I’ve actually been hired by princess to work in the same position as you ( asst purser ) . I’ve just received my L.O.I. with a provisional sign on date on August 18th which is around the corner lol . I’m super excited and nervous. But just reaching out because maybe I’ll run into you one day who knows ! Anyways , thank you so much for doing these vids . I searched UA-cam countless times to find others in our same position but I never could find it 😂. But , take care & I wish you well on all your future endeavors!😊
@@DANOVERBOARDvlogs Yes I will embark on Sky princess 🤩😆. I believe after watching your vids you were on there for your first contract so that is so ironic yet cool lol . And i will definitely provide updates for sure . I’ve watched countless vids about the boat so it won’t be hard to navigate I hope lol 😹😹😹😹. But, thank you so much I appreciate it !
I've been an on-board service attendant on Via Rail's the Canadian train (Vancouver-Winnipeg)🏔 fun but very physically demanding. 5 days x 17 hours a day in uniform on a moving train (and "on call" at night LOL) then 9 days off but so exhausted when you come back that you sleep/ adjust the 2-3 first days. Was too hard physically and I was supposed to do this with a domestic/romantic partner who ended up never showing up so no one to have dinner ready and house cleaned/help/support/ take care of things and so hard to have a social/any kind of life with that schedule, which is why I quit. Looks like a lot of free time but if you're alone you can barely catch up on rest then have to do groceries, laundry, etc so feels like no free time. But I definitely recommend this route as a passenger ❤
You and me both! It wasn't so much the wind as much as my wireless mic wasn't properly connected to my GoPro. It picked up all the other noise quite well! :)
It was about a month, I believe. I have a video about being in limbo while awaiting to hear, and when I did, it all came together very quickly. Let us know which ship you'll be on?
@@DANOVERBOARDvlogs Yeah I’ll let you know when I find out. On my visa letter they put The Emerald, but that was just for the visa application. It could be any!
Seems my GoPro mic was defaulted instead of my wireless mic. I didn't want to scrap the information and I hope it's valuable to anyone who wants to know.
Sky Princess was my first ship. I've been on others since, and I have many videos to come. Sorry I missed you. Where is your itinerary sailing on Sky Princess in October?
While in Belize I decided to have a real talk and tell you what I really think about working on a cruise ship. Jump to 5:02. What do you think?
Hey the Sky Princess is going to be in town on Sept 24! But you're in Japan now right? If not we could have totally totally gone for tea!!
I haven't been on Sky since February 2023. Many, many videos still to come!

I like TORONTO's.
Fascinating information in here - I'm always so interested in the views from the crew onboard the ships - thanks for sharing!

Wish you'd chosen a less windy spot! But thank you for sharing.

I’ve just handed in all my documents a couple days ago. I’m going to be a Jr Purser. How long did you have to wait to hear back about your assignment?

I really hope you quit your cruise job and move to Japan Dan... Oh wait! :D Great video!!
It's definitely a hiatus. If something brings me back and I can maintain both... We'll see!
I did look for you in April, but never saw you 😀 We will be back on Sky on 16th October.
Love Sky Princess ship and staff are great and work so hard.
