It's hard to believe in their last fight Izzy knocked Alex out cold. And Izzy is the younger of the two. Since then Izzy had the two worst performances of his career.
Meanwhile Alex has kicked into a new gear and is just destroying everything in his path.

Me and everybody I was watching with were in agreement it was clearly 2-1 Izzy going into the fourth.
I thought it was 2-1 dricus going into the forth. 1 and two were dricus but 3rd round izzy had and was winning round 4
I watched it and thought it was even going into the 4th. The first round was a draw. They traded wins in 2-3. Izzy took a round, DDP took a round.
So the last two rounds were going to determine the fight .

Izzy lost twice at 305. Once in the ring by submission and once in the pre-fight press conference. DDP got him twice. I believe Izzy lost his edge both with his mouth and his fighting abilities. Time got to him. Like it got all the other great fighters before him. It's time to live the good life and do some philanthropy

Izzy has no problem at all He even nearly beat the DDP. Anderson Silva fought eight more times since losing to Wiedman, and Michael Bisping became a middleweight champion at a late age

@@2regarded He was definitely doing decently. The issue is I think he's reached elite gatekeeper status (like Whitaker). Good enough to put up a good fight but that dominance is gone.

The best fight for Izzy to make is to move up and fight Jiri Prochazka / Jan Błachowicz or even for Usman to move up an fight Izzy. And I would love to see Wonderboy vs Izzy too.

Izzy did not go out on his shield. He went out running scared. He quit.
Even if you hate him personally you need to bow down sometimes, his fights are meaningful, he is a true martial artist and we won't see someone like him for a long time after his career is truly over

Izzy was up 3-1 or 4-0 in the 4th round, and seeming to start dominating. A rematch could easily be sold to everyone, the UFC has done a helluva lot more with less. Jiri blamed Pereira for black magic, DDP is doing some real South African white voodoo magic by getting a the nod in a close decision and finding a way to get it done when he was behind against Izzy.
