The difference is that Seans gonna try something different this time and this will give Dricus the opening he needs to finish him.
I think your 100% correct. I think Sean will try to be more aggressive, which will lead to him getting hit more and taken down easier

If you mean that Sean will do something other then his Philly shell stance kickboxing then no he will not, also what you people don't realise is that Sean is the only one who can rewatch the fight and make major improvements from it, Dricus didn't know what to do against Seans Philly shell, he simply resorted to trying to force things because Sean confuses the hell out of people other then Alex. Sean for most of the fight was calculated with his defensive striking, so basically he can go rewatch the fight, pick apart Dricuses openings for counter strikes, and Sean can beat Dricus in the striking even easier. I wouldn't be surprised if Sean wins via TKO or KO

He can get as aggressive as he wants Sean used to spar 5 round wars with his former teammate Francis Ngannou there’s NO middleweight that will walk through Sean that’s what your suggesting and it’s not gonna happen

Dricus also got submitted by a local guy from PE which was much smaller and lighter than him. Just because you fight for Gracie does not mean you are a world class grappler. SA grappling is far behind you don't see any of our guys beating a Gordan Ryan etc. Small welter weight Rob took Dricus down AND so did old past prime uncle Brunson as well. What I am saying is you got no idea what an elite level prime age wrestler like Bo Nickal could do. Dricus is untested against elite level wrestler at prime age. So we will have to wait and see. Don't fall for the local gracie team they were midgets and amateur level as well.
Difference is DDP will make Sean tap this time.

The difference? DDP finds the adjustments he needs to finish Sean. Seriously, what adjustments CAN Strickland make without drastically changing up his style? Working those teeps? I don't see a big change from Strickland, but I think we see an adjustment with DDP.
If Strickland doesn't get a haymaker to connect I reckon DDP is gonna submit him ....cause he would have gone a watched the fight afterwards and realised actually how easily he took down Strickland. Thing is he sort of fell into Stricklands fight and stood up to trade .... it's not gonna happen this time

he is not he was level 2 and he was 40 years old definately not on Bo Nickal level. And small Rob welter weight took Dricus down. Think before you speak buds. There are levels to wrestling. Bo is elite and prime age for example. That would be a real test.
I feel like DDP wins the rematch. Purely because Sean fights the same every fight and DDP is a fighter that makes adjustments every fight. Now having been in a close fight with Sean, I feel he can use that experience to make the right adjustments and get the job done clearly this time.
Agree, I don't see DDP allowing so many jabs through again. DDP said the jab doesn't do any damage but he didn't account for the fact that his eyes would swell shut🤣🤣 so I think he'd make adjustments to avoid that
DDP had 0 ways of avoiding the jab before, this is why his only gameplan was to lunge in with random ass looping shots, Dricus wasn't even remotely close, so him being way off before means he's going to be way off still, the only difference in this rematch is that Sean has video tape he can watch and he can figure out how to hit Dricus even easier

@@meatrocket6979 Dricus was close but not close at the same time, he was close due to throwing himself at Sean, but when you overreach and try to force shots to land, the opponent can see you winding up from a mile away, this is why Sean never actually got hit by any of those shots, he easily saw the shots coming and moved out the way, and this is why even though Dricus seemed close, he really wasn't
@@bulletproof1581 Whittaker explained this recently on his pod that in the first couple of rounds he could see the punches coming as it wasn’t that fast but Dricus is good at closing that distance after he finds his range and the couple inches of space you thought you had is suddenly gone. DDP started finding his range in the 3rd and fourth round of the fight. I believe DDP finds his range quicker and we already know DDP has finishing ability.
Sean can only win by decision imo so what he has to change is he needs to start putting DDP on the back foot and maintaining forward pressure. If he finds himself on the back foot again, it can end up being a repeat of the first DDP fight and the Jared fight, where strikes aren’t really landing clean but the perception of him moving backwards after strikes hands him the loss. His best performances are when his on the front foot but I just don’t see DDP allowing that for more than one round.

Watch the reaction of Sean strickland when the ref lifted dricus's hand. There was a nod of agreement. Let's get over this disbelief in the results, it's the same as with Izzy, now everyone thinks he was ahead going into the 4th.

It wasn’t just Strickland who thought he won, a sanctioned judge thought he won, the UFC owner thought he won.
Sean nodded his head and clapped when Dricus won. Volk, DC, Izzy, Sean, Tim, D. Cruz, Anik and Chael himself thought Dricus won. Close fight, but for neutrals, most people thought Dricus was 3-1 up going into the 5th and got the win.
Luckily two other sanctioned judges thought that DDP won!

Wanna compare them ? Still unsure who won DDP vs Strickland 1 ? As far as the judges were concerned we had an answer. It just doesn't matter what we think from our partisan points of view. Nothing any of us say can change the result, no matter how dissappointed. So we take at look at who they fought recently. DDP got a well motivated Izzy out of there. The Izzy that fought Strickland didn't show up and it still went all 5. There's some food for thought ! DDP can, for the foreseeable future, not be underestimated. Add to that the next fight may be in South Africa, Strickland is going to have to bring more than a jab and his amusing mic antics. DDP is serious about what he wants out of this business. I'm here for it.

The initial fight was very competitive and not as conclusive as we prefer, especially with such high stakes. Both have fair claim to feel they won. 25 minutes of experience with each other is the difference. Ought be a great scrap.
Stickland did not lose that fight. His biggest injury was from a HEADBUTT. He lost from blood due to a foul. Dricuss face looked like hamburger after the fight.
Sean needs to WORK THE LEGS more, and PUSH THE PACE sooner, and more. Stickland had way too much gas in his tank after the fight.

Ddp said himself that he went in with the wrong point fighting style with the intent of the finish coming to him. Ddp said that after rd 2 he went back to his natural style and that's when he took over the fight even though he already won a rd before that. Ddp by 3rd rd finish. And Still.

We have real time observation and history that Sean can put visual damage onto DDP. But that isn't enough apparently. He needs critical scoring points and shaving time off the clock without getting hit.
Strickland beat him up pretty good last time and should have won it. I think its DDP that has to do something about that, and Sean just needs to be himself.
last week i didnt care about ddp and i wanted to see sean fight. but now i want to see ddp fight because his strategory of head down cuz top of head shots are illegal so he uses it as a shield and just barrows towards his opponent is fun to watch. i am concerned with his cardio, those takedowns he did really tuckered him out.

Strickland doesn't put enough pressure on to outright win often times..
However that lack of pressure is based off his usage of that philly shell.
I believe we will see Strickland attempt to be more aggressive as he was towards the end of the Costa fight.
That extra pressure Strickland puts forth will lessen his philly shell, leading Plessis to drop in bombs.
The question becomes, can Strickland's chin hold up against the shots he will have to take to have any chance of beating Plessis?
Cause you wont get the belt off Plessis via points if you are Strickland (who is not as favorably viewed persona wise)
We all know when a fighter gets the belt he automatically becomes approximately 20% better, that's the difference.

Sean never gets out of second gear, always fights safe, has cardio but doesn't weaponise it and is not a finisher. UD after UD certainly didn't deserve to be champ at the end of the DDP fight especially against a man who threw power, pressed the pace and scored takedowns as well as heavy strikes

DDP was one of the few guys that did not get back down by Sean and was willing to take some shots and deliver his own and his durability size and strength and his strong belief in himself or what I see that makes him great and none of those complementary reasons I think such a tough matchup for everyone has anything to do with punches or kicks. He’s hard to hurt and he has powerful attacks and I see the fight with Strickland looking very similar unless somehow Sean can be the first to somehow finally get them to wobble and then Sean find a way to get him out of there. I picked DDP to win very similarly to how he did over, Izzy because I believe Izzy mentally is exhausted and not as hungry, but still is skilled he lost a little bit of his edge and Strickling hasn’t shown any different type of style than what he does so hard to expect a different outcome

chael, i honestly don’t know what fight you were watching because sean definitely was fighting with more sense of urgency at the end of the fight than ddp was, i think you are getting it mixed up because i truly think ddp was A LOT more confident that he won the fight at the end and on top of all that, sean didn’t even really think he won the fight until after he got told by his people that it was closer than he thought. even when ddp got his hand raised you could see sean clapping his hands and shaking his head in agreement with the decision. i really don’t know what you were watching because you are usually factually correct but in this case, definitely not. i don’t even like ddp, i just know what my eyes saw.

Sean already beat Dricus. It’s not Sean’s fault Dricus has plot armor and can’t lose even when he loses.
This time it won't go to split decision. DDP will have to get it done with standup but also needs to keep Sean guessing with takedowns. Sean would have to stop moving back in a straight line.

Dricus has Stricklands number the next fight between them in South Africa will prove it, but Strickland is making excuses to not come to Africa, because he knows what's coming.
It's Sean's to lose. Sean lost basically due to a fluke where at the beginning of round 4 he got blood in his eye. No reason to think DDP has an advantage. Sean barely used any of his tools. DDP got 6 takedown..and never came close to a sub. He had 25 minutes and never came close to getting a KO. If Sean does his teeps for more than one round then he gets the pressure AKA uses less stamina and makes DDP use more stamina. He marched Costa down. So yeah, why the hell do people think DDP just for some silly reason blasts through Sean this time? Go back and watch their war. He won round 5 and would have likely won round 4 without the black in his eye. DDP had a great game plan, those take downs were part of it, but if Sean makes a little adjustment then he wins. Sean's biggest mistake is probably being too reserved with his right hand. He sets it up but doesn't use it soon enough in those later rounds, overly cautious..and when he does use it, well he has 11KO's to Dricus's 9. DDP will have more confidence but Sean will have more recovery.
