Well Guys ! The correct answer is that if the 2 motors have equivalent number of armature poles, then only it will work flawlessly otherwise there will be vibration issues as i explained in the video..
In a BLDC Motor , Stator and Armature are the same thing just as we say armature of a squirrel cage induction motor type ceiling fan. So, i am not talking about the permanent magnetic poles but the stator pole. Although, it equally depends on the number of poles per phase which is a little advanced level ... Hope this helps.
3 - phase BLDC motors without their controllers can turn when connected as back-to-back motor generators IF THEY OUTPUT A HIGH ENOUGH CURRENT AT A HIGH ENOUGH VOLTAGE because the changing electric current (AC) which the triple phase AC generator (bldc motor without controller) generates generates a changing magnetic field in the bldc motor (which is a triple-phase motor without its controller). Because they are both 3 - phase bldc motors it should work if a high enough voltage and current are output.
Bldc is the same as synchronous machine. Synchronous machine can work as an alternator or motor. Starting method of a synchronous motor works first as an induction motor (thus the rotor should be a squirrel cage type not a permanent magnet). But if the rotor is permanent magnet, the frequency of the incoming source should be first lowered (just like what you did in the video, running the alternator first slowly) then by slowly increasing the frequency (speed of alternator), the synchronous motor will follow the path where the rotating magnetic field goes. Bcoz the current generated by BLDC motor is AC 3phase, and BLDC motors are designed to run on DC pulse generated by mosfets, enters in one phase and goes back through other phase ..
It's Because BLDC motor needs a 3phase AC supply and each phases of the supply should be shifted perfectly with a Controller unit with constant current and Constant Voltage methods And this will not be achieved by hand Cranking And also motors with same RPM Can work out I think this is the reason

You mean magnetic poles on rotor, as there is no aramature in BLDC motor
